Being a dedicated Gillette wet shave man since l was a teenager l was somewhat hesitant to switch to an electric shaver. After reading some reviews l decided to go for the Philips wet & dry 3000 Shaver. Ok so the shave is not quite as close as l would get from my razor, but it's not far off. My beard is quite tough and even using a new razor blade took a while to remove all my facial hair. Plus l would have at least one cut & some blood, not to mention an irritated skin, despite using a sensitive foam. I use the same shaving foam which l have found works better than gel. A full charge takes less than an hour and lasts all week, plus no cuts or blood to contend with. Two months on, and l am converted to electric shaving, and wouldn't dream of going back to using a ... MoreBeing a dedicated Gillette wet shave man since l was a teenager l was somewhat hesitant to switch to an electric shaver. My previous shaver gave up the ghost after a few years and so I was looking around for a replacement. The reviews on this shaver were good so I ordered one.A couple of things that are different from my old one. The motor seems to be very slow and I was unsure as my old one was much quicker, however it shaves really well and i was surprised that although it seems slow it actually gives a shave better than my old one.I tried using it as a wet shave with foam but it was a real mess so I don't bother now. Another advantage is that it is easy to clean and can be washed through although it does need to be dried thoroughly afterwards.Overall I am happy with my purchase. To early to warrant a 5 star until I see how long the batteries will last over the next year or so.

Like all the Philips products I've got, this is excellent quality and performs the task better than the opposition. I began with a Philips toothbrush, and found it far superior than another make I'd previously been using. It was so good, that when I needed to change my hair clippers I chose Philips ones, and these were also better than the previous clippers of another make.I was so impressed that, when my shaver went, I had no hesitation in buying a Philips shaver, and this too was far better than the other make I was replacing. It has a long battery life, is easy to clean, has a powerful battery, and takes all the stubborn stubble off without causing any skin damage. The only caveat is that you need to check what you are buying, and whether you need to fork out ... MoreLike all the Philips products I've got, this is excellent quality and performs the task better than the opposition. My experience is that you don't need to spend a lot. I compared the cheapest model about £50 with the next dearer model of just over £100 but when I compared them online on the Philips site the only difference seemed to be one had matt plastic and one had glossy plastic. I queried this with Philips, and was told both shavers used the same battery and same blades, and the only difference was cosmetic! In fact, all the shavers in the range use the same battery and same blades, with only cosmetic of accessories making the difference in price. I chose the cheaper model, and I've been delighted with it. I'm sure I'd have been equally delighted if I'd bought the dearer model, but my wallet would have been slimmer for no particular advantage.

I have been using electric razors for nearly 50 years, mainly Philips. In the early days there were no rechargeable razors, and when they were first available, the charge didn't hold for long, so it was important to have one that would shave at the same time as being charged. I have kept with that policy, even though the rechargeable batteries are very good now. I have a similar model to the 3000 series, which is quite old now, and it could be used while charging. This new machine was intended to replace it, but I missed the advertising comments which may have mentioned that this one couldn't be used while charging. The battery of the old one has stopped working, so it can only be used if it is plugged in, just like those of 50 years ago. The battery of the old one has stopped working, so it can only be used if it is plugged in, just like those of 50 years ago. I am now left with one that will only work from the battery, and one that will only work when plugged in, both of which are similar to the 3000 series.I always go for the rotary type electric razors. As far as I know, Philips only do those. The 3000 series Philips razor is very good for either wet or dry, but the wet I never use. It has a very good shave, and is very good value. In the past, I have used more expensive electric razors, including Philips ones, but they don't give any better a shave, and replacement heads cost about the same as a new 3000 series machine.Overall, then, this 3000 series electric razor gives a very good shave, it is very good value, and I will certainly look for the same again when this one starts to fail, which I hope will be in a few years time.
I have used the Philips Norelco shavers for many years and they get better and better with every new one! I bought the newest one because I left my older one at home while on a trip. I’m glad I forgot it because the new one I bought was suprisingly low in cost but high in quality. I can always count on my Philips shavers for reliability and a smooth shave. I especially like the wet shave feature! Talk about a smooth shave! I really don’t see any reason to ever switch to another brand or model. Philips Norelco does the best job I could ever imagine. Thank you for years of making a great product for such a fair price.
A convenient way with both options a dry shave, or with a foam or gel for a refreshing close wet shave, even in the shower can be used. The device is fully washable for easy use with; the blades being made from special steel that resist corrosion, prevent impurities, and protect the sensitive skin. The set includes the following: Shaver 3900 Series, cap, travel pouch, charging stand, and a USB-A charging cable; but where is the power adapter? why it is not included? What is the issue? This is so frustrating Where is a small cleaning brush that most shavers come with for a proper brushing away the hair from the inside.
I used to have a problem with ingrown hairs when I used safety and electric razors. The only thing that provided some relief was the depilatory creams from Magic and Royal Crown. These creams were effective, but I hated the smell, and they caused that portion of my face to become darker in shade. I went to see a dermatologist, and he told me to stop using the creams and get an electric razor. I asked him which one was the best, and he said that it didn't matter which one. So I tried many different brands. Remington had a razor that specifically targeted those with ingrown hairs, and I used it for a few years until they discontinued making it. I thought it was effective, but I still occasionally had a few ingrown hairs. I then found this Norelco razor. I've been using it for years, and have found that it is more effective than any previous razor I've used. I always use it when my face is dry, never wet. I don't use a pre-shave lotion. I usually wash my face afterwards with warm water, rinse it with cold water, and apply a mild astringent like witch hazel. I no longer have an ingrown hair problem and my face is now even-toned. Every six months, I make sure I order replacement blades so my blades are always sharp.
After “practicing” for several weeks, packed my Norelco 3600 for a3-week vacation cruise and travels…(MORE COMPACT THAN MY 5-HEAD ROTARY HEAD SHAVER)For over three weeks, used it on my beard AS WELL AS MY (BALD) HEAD and was very impressed with overall results…My 3600 is much quieter handling both face, neck and head snd I can actually HEAR the blades cutting the whiskers and stubble(!) Once I can’t hear the cutting, I know I’m done.Using it for both head and beard, worked JUST AS WELL as my 5-cutter head razor and much quieter!Actually ran a test with both of them with one razor on left side and other razor on right side…Norelco 3600 just a little better than the head razor, but (understandably) took a little longer.VERY satisfied with results!!! ... MoreAfter “practicing” for several weeks, packed my Norelco 3600 for a3-week vacation cruise and travels…(MORE COMPACT THAN MY 5-HEAD ROTARY HEAD SHAVER)For over three weeks, used it on my beard AS WELL AS MY (BALD) HEAD and was very impressed with overall results…My 3600 is much quieter handling both face, neck and head snd I can actually HEAR the blades cutting the whiskers and stubble(!) I have been using Philips shavers for decades now and really like my new model 3600. It was affordable and had the bell and whistles that I wanted. I especially like that it can be charged using a small lightweight USB cable. Overall, the weight is low and it is easy to travel with. The battery life is outstanding as I charged it and have not had to recharge it after 1.5 months of use. That is approximately 45 shaves. It is easy to clean and the case is nice to have.My only request is that for the next revision, Philips would make the on off switch lock. I have a beard trimmer that you hold the button down for 5 seconds and it locks the power button.Once again, I am pleased with my purchase.
I purchased this product, but unfortunately, when I opened it, I noticed marks and scratches. I attempted to obtain a replacement from the store where I bought it, only to be informed that these imperfections are a result of the manufacturing process from Philips. According to the sales man Anthony from Shavershop, it’s impossible to find a product without any scratches or marks because of the manufacturing process from Philips. After some negotiation, they eventually agreed to replace it for me. However, I was then informed that the specific version I had purchased was out of stock. As an alternative, they attempted to down-sell me a different version that didn’t have the advanced features. My advice steer clear of purchasing from this store Shop 2012, Westfield ... MoreI purchased this product, but unfortunately, when I opened it, I noticed marks and scratches.
