Two decades of shaving into my life, and I had never tried a rotary shaver. I've always avoided them because I had heard they don't give as close, or as good of a shave. I was so excited to be proven wrong. This thing is amazing. It works well wet or dry, but after the first few times wet I switched to dry and haven't gone back. There isn't enough of a difference in performance here to justify the extra time to wet-shave. This shaver just works that well dry. The Phillips Norelco 2600 is good enough for me, and that is saying a lot. I have tried a lot of shavers and different methods over the years. From 100 year old Gillettes, to the OneBlade. This one has earned a spot in the rotation (and for the time being has completely taken over the rotation)!

I bought this shaver because the Phillips shavers I have had in the past have been good buys. the one I replaced with this shaver I had for at least 20 years. I have found the design much better than the foil shavers I used to have. They needed new foils fairly frequently and some times removed skin along with the bristles.I was a bit dubious about this shaver at first because, compared with my old one, it sounded under powered. However the shave turned out to be as good. I do not wash it under the tap - that seems to defeat one of the purposes of a dry shaver. Instead I clean out the shavings with a brush and stick to the recommended monthly thorough cleaning routine.

I was so excited to be proven wrong. This thing is amazing. It works well wet or dry, but after the first few times wet I switched to dry and haven't gone back. There isn't enough of a difference in performance here to justify the extra time to wet-shave. This shaver just works that well dry. The Phillips Norelco 2600 is good enough for me, and that is saying a lot. I have tried a lot of shavers and different methods over the years. From 100 year old Gillettes, to the OneBlade. This one has earned a spot in the rotation (and for the time being has completely taken over the rotation)!

I noticed after unboxing it that the shaver is light weight and once plugged in and turned on it runs quiet. I first tried it on my forearm where i have little hair and it shaved it pretty decent. Next i tried it on my neck because i grow my beard so i thought the bottom of the neck would be ideal to try it on. To clean the head its easily accessibleby pushing a button and they say to run it under water (turned off and unplugged) to clean the hair out. It can be difficult to get all the hairs out, so it would be nice if philips could provide a small brush to help get into the tighter hard to reach areas. Next thing is, the power cord is proprietary. I think (if possible) it would be good to see if that can be switched out to be a usb cable just incase somebody is traveling and somehow forget their cord, or it breaks on them they could either easily replace it by going to a store real quick or use another devices usb cable to finish the job.
I am really loving this new Philips Norelco Shaver 2600! I have used it for dry and wet shaving with equally great results. It gives me a clean shave with minimal effort and causes absolutely no skin irritation. It is so comfortable to hold and use. I love the one touch open of the attached trimmer for my sideburns and to do touchups on my hair line. The dark green color looks incredible as well. It charged quickly with a standard usb drive. Was very happy that it contained a travel bag as well as I do a lot of traveling and don’t want to be without this razor in the future. I highly recommend this razor to anyone looking for a new electric razor.
For the sale price of $30 from CTC... guess I got what I paid for these days. Serious underpowered unit...compared to my strictly corded 15 year older Philips model that had a faster, closer cut at the same cost. I have to spend more time going over my face, close to three times that spent from my previous Philips. Not recommended purchase here this time. I wish they had a strictly AC powered unit available...I'd buy it instead for possibly better power. Maybe the motor is made more cheaply...cheaper components?? Not sure.. but either way the end result is a 'not recommended buy'. Before that I tried a Panasonic at over three times the price and it failed after a couple years tops...with a slightly more improved cut than this Philips. After this model... I think I'll spend more time on user review reading … than a sale price of a previously successful brand name purchase. Hopefully that will pay off.
This review is on behalf of receiving a free product in exchange for an honest review.The Philips Norelco Shaver 1100 is a wired shaver at an affordable price point. There are 3 heads to the razor that are flexible when moving across the face. The shaver’s size and ergonomic design is easy to hold and maneuver from side to side. This model is the cheapest in the line of Norelco’s but still gets the job done. It is good for a quick shave with shorter hair. Longer facial hair will pull and snag and cause for razor burns.Overall I recommend this if you do not have dense facial hair and if you are looking for a cheaper shaver that gets the job done for a day to day trim.

This time I was horrified with how horrible it was. Low power, low RMP motor, low capacity and low power battery. It takes about 20 passes (literally) over an area to shave without feeling too much stubble. The literature says 40 minutes of charge time but you can feel and hear the motor weakening during the same shaving session, after starting with a full charge. The literature also says something about “self-sharpening blades that cut hair just above skin level”. If that was the design criterion then that is the problem. As opposed to a stupid hair sensor? Too bad. My next shaver is going to be some other brand. Once finished, I was pleased with how clean a job it had done. So, going back to before, this shaver is really only going to be suitable for people that shave very frequently (1-2 days max). If that's you, then you should be pleased with the job it does, especially at its price point. But if you're someone -like me- who tends to go a bit longer between shaves, your money would be better served looking for something a bit more suitable to your specific needs.
