I'm reviewing this one: 5000 BT5515/15.It's a great trimmer. Powerful, passes through beard hair like it's nothing. Just wish it had a wider head for when I trim my hair, like my multigroom series 5000 and hair clipper 7000. Either way, this one has a guard that goes down to 0.4mm, amazing, and yes it works to trim my beard down to 0.4mm but can't get all angles with it, but at least it protects your skin so you can do as much as you can with the guard, then remove the guard and do the rest.I've been using Philips trimmers for over 15 years now and they've been so reliable and great to use. Normal visible letters.Material quality: very well done. It could use some rubber to keep it better held but I can still hold it well, unlike bigger ones.But, the guards feel cheap. I take care of them so in 2 months, no issues yet, but I can see how rougher men that lack patience and dexterity would break them. They should be more solidly built to avoid that, simple! The price allows for higher quality guards.I've washed it each time after using it, no issues so far. Works great.Battery life is long, like all other Philips trimmers. Multigroom last longer but this is long enough.

My previous trimmer had me going back over areas trying to get an even trim, to the point of rubbing your face raw! After attaching the beard guard and adjusting the height to my desired level, I went in for my first trim. I found the action of the trimmer to be very smooth and the guard did a fantastic job of providing for an even trim on the first pass! I do have to say that I really just guessed on the height adjustment, hoping that a number 5 on this unit was nearly the same as a number 5 on my previous unit, which I am happy to say was the case. After a complete trim, I removed the guard to do some edging. This is one area where I was a little disappointed in the 5500. With the full width trimmer blade, I found it a little difficult to trim comfortably above my lip. My previous trimmer had a separate blade for this that did not require removing the guard, which I miss. However, the 5500 did reasonably well at trimming in this area. I may just need a couple more times to get used to it. Adding a separate blade for edging may be the only improvement that I could recommend for the 5500. Overall, I have to say that I am impressed with the smooth operation and the one-pass cut offered by the 5500. My favorite feature may be the shape of the beard guard which does a very good job at lifting the hairs, providing for an even cut.

Out the box I like the look and feel of this trimmer. Nice selection of attachments and solid feel in the hand. Does a great job with trimming my beard to the same length. No missed hairs sticking out like cat whiskers... Excellent battery life and normal buzz sound of many a trimmer.Only issue I have is the trimmer does not get the very top of my mustache because of the guard. Not a deal breaker just not 100% happy.

I'm sorry I waited so long to buy this. Though the small number of attachments would seem to limit versatility, as a bearded guy with a short hairstyle I'm very happy with what these clippers let me do for periodic maintenance (beard-shaping, sideburns trimming with the guides) and regular grooming (taking care of ear hair and nosehair with the narrow clipper attachment). The twisting adjustment mechanism is quite clever and simple to use with the guides, which cover different ranges of length. And the stand works perfectly for dropping the device in when it needs a charge, and grabbing it one-handed whenever you need it.One surprising benefit I didn't expect is how gentle the clippers are right against my skin. So far it seems okay. The cutting is better than panasonic but not as good as wahl. I prefer a T-blade for a quicker trim. I'm happy with the settings as I like to adjust beard length as this does go all the way to 20mm (I'd prefer 25mm). The longer clip attachment has unnecessarily sharp edges; I don't know why they didn't make it like the shorter clip, and clips seem delicate. I wish philips provided a better case, or at least sold one as an extra. The body seems unnecessarily large/long when compared to other trimmers.
I have been using this trimmer for few weeks now, and I can give my honest opinion about this product. I used it first time with a bit longer hair and then kępy using it on a lowest setting which is 0.2mm. In both situations I got nice even trim. I stopped shaving at all because every time I got really bad razor burns and this really helped to keep my face looking sharp. I really like long battery life. It charges very quickly and you don't have to worry about it for a week or so. Also really easy to clean, because it is waterproof you just rinse it under the water. I also used it once to cut my sons hair. He got a bit scared with the sound first but it did a good job overall.
I purchased this trimmer because my old trimmer was also a Norelco (Philips) trimmer. It was a vacuum trimmer. After 10+ years, the battery gave out. I liked the vacuum feature but there were few offered when I made this purchase. Also, they were out of my price range. So far this trimmer has been great. Lots of battery life and it does a great trimming job. I particularly like the various trimming height feature. Perfect for what I am looking for.
For some reason this trimmer has a large push-button on/off switch, rather than a sliding switch. This means when it's packed in a travel bag it can easily be switched on by itself, cutting through anything it's packed next to! The unnecessarily complex "beard lifter" is very easily broken, and means it's not possible to trim close to edges, such as around the nostrils. The unit is also about 1/3 larger than most trimmers - the size is more like a head shaver. On the plus side the battery life is good.

The precision trimmer has been a godsend for my goatee in particular. It’s easy to use, wet or dry and can cut into very precise areas allowing me to style it well. The guard for the beard trimmer works well picking up the hairs on my goatee and setting it to the correct length couldn’t be simpler with the dial on the handle.
