Ive been testing the series 7000 for roughly two weeks now, shaving roughly twice a week with it. So far i have to admit I’m massively impressed, especially with the vacuum aspect of it. Usually these are gimmicks that don’t actually work, but on the series 7000 it really does (ok theres a little bit of hair left in the sink after shaving over it), but this is extremely minutiae in comparison to the state of the bathroom sink when i shave with any other razor/shaving device. The first time i used it i was in quite a rush as I had to leave the house to be at work on time, so i only had roughly 10 minutes to spare (not the ideal circumstance to test run a product) so I took it off charge and made way for the bathroom, to say i was quite blown away is a slight ... MoreIve been testing the series 7000 for roughly two weeks now, shaving roughly twice a week with it. I figured for the benefit of product testing i was going to shave down to a midnight shadow and gradually come up through the height settings over the weeks (so obviously I’m still in the early stages). So i set the series 7000 to 0.5 and off i went, it was effortless, smooth and (something that’s very unusual for my skin) it didn’t irritate during or after shaving whatsoever. Once the main beard was done, a quick change of heads (again so simple to do) and a quick tidy up around the edges. I then got out the cleaning brush and gave it a once over, total time 7 MINUTES, just 7 little minutes. I’m currently shaving at 2.5 and I’m still running on its first charge so battery life gets a massive thumbs up too. Philips you’ve created an absolutey fantastic product, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to product test it for you.

One of the biggest issues I have when I shave my beard is that the hair goes everywhere, I typically have to use a broom afterwards in addition to cleaning off sink. I put this trimmer through the ringer, I trimmed my entire beard every day for a week. With my first shave unfortunately the chamber to hold the hair filled up very quickly. Subsequent shaves were better since there was less hair to trim and I would say it lived up to the 90% catch rate after the first trim. If you keep up with trimming your beard and aren't drastically reducing length, this is a great tool to add to your arsenal. If you shave once a month, don't bother as it doesn't really help keep the area clean and it takes longer to shave. Quality wise it seems good but I am concerned that the plastic rail for the trim guard will eventually break one day, it doesn't seem very strong and it is easy to insert it incorrectly. Removing a star because they won't let me mention an alternative brand.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. This is a very high quality beard trimmer. Several features make this a top notch product. One very unique feature is a built in vacuum for hair stubble. Instead of the trimmed hair falling on the bathroom counter or in the sink, it is captured in the chamber below the blade. It is easy to empty by simply removing the cutting comb. There are two small brushes that further remove any remaining stubble in the chamber. The chamber is large enough so you do not need to empty every trim. The second excellent feature is the adjustable trim length. The battery is of course lithium ion, so a quick charge and lasts forever between charges. I also liked how wide the cutting comb is (there are two widths). With the wide comb, trimming the beard is smooth and quick, and my beard looks even and great after the trim. The only possible downside to some customers would be the price. It is kind of steep for a beard trimmer, but of course the competitors do not have a built in vacuum and 20 dialable trim length settings. Overall, a very nice and unique beard trimmer.

LOVE THIS TRIMMER

Item: Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7500 I just received this trimmer as a sample to evaluate and review. I tried this for a week and won't use anything else. I would have never bought a trimmer with the vacuum feature as I didn't think I really needed it, but let me tell you, it's one of my favorite features.. Gone are the days of cleaning tiny little hairs after I'm done shaving. The other features I really like are the different attachments. It cuts really really short which I like, as I use it on my head as well. Super easy to assemble and instructions are clear and easy to understand (but I don't think you need them) This beard trimmer exceeded any expectations I had. Only suggestion I can think of is, most clippers come with a little bottle of oil to lube up the blades, but I don't know if this needs it. One of the features I really like is that it is cordless and if the battery runs out of a charge I can use it with the cord attached (some other clippers won't do that.)

Not useable for trimming a beard short
5 April 2021

Purchased BT7000 Dec 2020 to replace older model Philips beard trimmer which did a great job cutting beard for years, but battery failed - I used setting 1. The BT7000 was initially taking at least twice as long as my previous BT as it was missing too many hairs around the chin and elsewhere and having a small amount of scissor tidy-up, but now after 3 months, this is getting worse need to use scissors to do a lot of tidy up. Unfortunately I have reverted to shaving with a razor again while I look for an alternative. In short, all the other complaints about the design I have read I agree with. The vacuum is good, but it compromises the design so badly that it ceases to be what it claims to be, e.g. a "Beard Trimmer"

Powerful Vacuum, Close cut
28 May 2019

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I have not been clean shaved in over a decade. I always have either a beard or stubble. As it's warm out, I currently have stubble, so I use a beard trimmer with no guard to keep it trimmed and close to my face. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: It's a vacuum trimmer, which I've used in the past. It's very sturdy and has good heft to it. The actual trimmer part is solid metal (past ones I've used were metal teeth with a plastic base). It charged quickly. The numbers for adjusting the length were lit and easy to see. FIRST USE: I let my stubble grow out a little before I used the Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7500 so I could see exactly how it performed. When I turned it on, it sounded powerful. The numbers for adjusting the length were lit and easy to see. FIRST USE: I let my stubble grow out a little before I used the Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7500 so I could see exactly how it performed. When I turned it on, it sounded powerful. I trimmed first with the grain, then against. It got much closer to my face than past trimmers I've used (which was really nice). The metal plate felt smooth as it traversed my jaw. When I trimmed near my ears, I was surprised how loud the vacuum sounded and could actually feel a little bit of a whirl of air as it sucked in the trimmings. It cuts very smooth, no irritated skin. The vacuum is indeed powerful as it left ALMOST no trimmings in the sink. Emptying involves pulling the trimming part off, which was easy to do, and dumping the hair into the trash. I banged it against the side a few times to get it to come out. Hair was still left inside, so I scooped it out with my finger which seemed sufficient. SUBSEQUENT USES: I no longer go with the grain first, I just go straight to against to get a close cut. Again, because it cuts so smoothly, there's no irritation and it's faster this way. FINAL THOUGHTS: I really like this trimmer. I didn't know a vacuum trimmer could do such a good job of minimizing what ends up in the sink. The most annoying part is cleaning it out afterwards, but that's the whole point...not having to clean the sink. You do have to use your finger to get the hair that's stuck to the plastic walls of the hair-storage compartment out, but that's a very small price to pay. I haven't had to charge it again (I've used it 4 times), so the battery life is to my liking. Overall, I can't think of anything that could be improved or that I'm not satisfied with. Obviously I didn't have the opportunity to try the guards for trimming longer hair, but those go on easily and adjusting the height is as easy as a twist.

Pretty Good Product

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. Initially when I saw this product I noticed it was made of plastic, not the sleek stainless steel that my previous trimmer was made of. But once I got past the look I realized it weighed much less than my old one making it easier to use. Although it is a bit bigger than my previous trimmer, I got use to that rather quickly, and because it is not made of stainless steel and a bit larger I feel that I have better control over it because of the better ability to grip it. I was always afraid my old stainless steel one was going to slip out of my hand, and because it weighed more went slower when trimming, now with this new Norelco beard trimmer it's a wiz! My favorite feature is the hair catcher, it literally has a mini vacuum that catches the hair as you trim, this is great for a quick trim, no clean-up when done, or if you are doing more than a quick trim there might be just a few hairs that get away. Living with all woman you know I need to keep the sink clean, and this feature is really helpful in doing so, I don't have to be as concerned as I was before. I also like the adjustable trim feature, instead of having numerous size trim attachments, this trimmer has an adjustment that goes from .5 to 10 mm when the "beard and stubble comb" attachment is on it and has a lighted dial (when trimmer is on) that lets you know what height it is set at. Like most products it comes with a warranty, not a 1 year, but a 5 year warranty!

Solid trimmer; would recommend
28 May 2019

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. That said, I am quite pleased with the Philips trimmer and would definitely recommend it. I have sported a beard for the last several years - ranging in length from stubble to very long - so have used a variety of trimmers, including the older Philips model with vacuum. I didn't like that one all that much, as the hair collection chamber would frequently pop open and spill clippings, which kind of defeated the purpose. The newer version has a different design, where the cutting head and guard must be removed. This is a little bit fussier than the simple door, but the result is that not only does the vacuum collect most of the clippings but also that the clippings stay where they're supposed to until ... MoreI received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. Cleaning is relatively easy using the included tools, though the plastic chamber does get a little bit of static so you need to dig a bit to clear out all the hairs. The clipper uses a fairly wide cutting head, which means that trims are pretty quick. A smaller detailing clipper head is included, which makes it easier to trim mustaches and other tight spots. Length adjustments are made via a wheel on the front and the setting is shown on an easy-to-read light-up display.

The idea is there but not quite refind

As a current owner of another Phillips trimmer I was looking forward to testing this product. I used this on the highest setting (10) & it really struggled to get through my beard smoothly. I had to go over it a fair amount to get an even finish but in the end it did trim successfully. It collected alot of hair, so the vacuum idea is good but I found it still let alot escape meaning it had to be cleaned in the usual manner rendering it abit pointless. I also found that the hair collecting chamber was quite small meaning it constantly needed changing during my shave & doubled the time it would normally take. It was a pain to empty as well as you had to take the whole head off rather than be a separate chamber which essentially interrupted the flow of the shave. The lack of a stand or storage was a bit disappointing also. Overall I enjoyed the sleek design & comfortable feel. It wasn't too loud & felt like a quality trimmer. For now I will be sticking with my current Philips shaver.

Vacuum is ok, cut is inaccurate, breaks easily
8 December 2020

I had another model of BT Philips trimmer which worked perfect until the battery started not holding a charge and quickly dying. I decided to change and upgrade to the vacuum models because it was usually a mess after shaving. Though the vacuum technology is nice, the design of the hair container makes it hard to clean. But the worse part is the trimmer itself! The guide is bulky, poorly designed, and made of plastic. It doesn't feel nice on the skin and you can never get the right length nor cut fast. It is definitely not precise as claimed and you will never get the shorter cuts claimed in the manual as the plastic parts above the blade are so thick. It is so huge it is hard to cut in corners like under the nose. The clips for the heads are made of plastic and if they don't break, the plastic will change shape so that the head no longer clips after just 6 months of use. I have to tape the head. Know that the trimmer heads are not covered in their 2 years international warranty. To sum up, the value for money is extremely low.

Key Features Lift & Trim PRO system Trim your stubble in one stroke with our innovative Lift & Trim PRO system.
