This is probably because I failed to remember the instructions after reading them twice AND because I'm not familiar with using such tools. (Never have I thought I would be that noob hero that failed the tutorials in the Beginners Village of an RPG...) If you're the type to read instructions, there's both a quick start guide and lengthy manual. The manual is a laaaaaaaaarge sheet of paper folded up instead of a booklet. It's quite a pain to read when images are their corresponding text are far apart on the sheet...This particular model includes 8 accessories. (The manuals includes instructions for accessories not included.)The accessories are...1) Delicate area cap (for epilator head)2) Optimal contact cap (for epilator head)3) Shaving head4) Trimming comb (for shaving head)5) Trimming head6) Bikini comb for (trimming head)7) Exfoliation glove8) Pouch (to store everything in)Along with the accessories is the main device with the epilator head attached and a charger via outlet. Charging does not take too long, but for the amount of time the manual states a charge will hold, it sounds like the battery doesn't hold much or the device eats a ton of battery power. (Meaning... Charge frequently!)Because I failed to remember the instructions--what angle to hold! What speed setting to use! When to use this or that?!--I simply tested this device out via trial and error. I held it at whatever angle felt natural and so on. (If you're a seasoned veteran at using such devices, I'm guessing you already know how to use it correctly.)- Epilator -This will be the only head I'll use in the future. It's performance is so-so, but again, I'm impatient and probably used it incorrectly. (For example, I did not trim the hair down to "ideal" length first.) The "delicate area cap" is crap. I mean, I get the purpose of it is to limit the amount of surface area being exposed during the hair yanking, but it did nothing for my lady stache. I even resorted to using the epilator directly and it barely took care of the fuzz. (Both wet and dry skin.) Unless you got a STRONG stache going for you, the dainty fuzz most of us have will mostly stay put. (Maybe 10% got removed?) I made significantly more progress in the first twist of using my REM spring afterwards! As for bikini area, I did not try the delicate cap or epilator in there. My shins, on the other hand, benefited significantly from the epilator. I tried it on dry skin after showering with the "optimal contact cap." The cap helped me not guess what angle to hold the device (and even gently buffed/exfoliated my skin). However, maybe half the hair broke off at the root and several were completely missed. But, I'm Asian and am blessed(?) with significantly fewer and finer leg hair that the target consumer. My armpits failed to get elipated in the shower and didn't do so well afterwards. The delicate cap, again, was useless, and no cap worked slightly better on dry skin. Using the optimal cap worked best (Yay!) but still missed some strands. (These were strands previous trimmed from the other heads. At least all the long strands were gone.)- Shaving Head and Trimming Head -I'm not comfortable holding something electrically powered to CUT right against my skin. Therefore, I tried both the shaving and trimming heads with their pre-attached combs. (Besides, if I wanted visible hair out of sight, I'd pull the roots out.) Both are crap. (Again, I probably used them wrong.) I had no idea which direction/angle to hold them (nothing felt intuitive!!!) and they INSTANTLY clogged up with hair. Like, it can't trim more hair if previous hair is blocking the way!!! (This was in the shower.) I realized that they are terrible to use wet (noob reminder!) and figured dry would be better. They were slightly better, but I kept missing so many (full length armpit) hair after several runs and angles that I gave up (and went for the epilator *points to previous paragraph* ).- Exfoliation Glove -A single white glove to, I guess, exfoliate dead skin. I'm lazy and didn't bother trying it.- Pouch -A white drawstring bag to hold everything in. Handy if you use multiple accessories and travel but otherwise useless if you're a hermit.TL;DR: Not for the impatient but otherwise a decent epilator (but horrible trimmer).

From Brazilian Wax to Philips Epilator 8000

I was regularly getting a Brazilian wax and since I have an older plugin model of Phillips; I decided to get the newest model. I wish I would have been doing a Brazilian wax years ago so then I would have had this awesome machine. I am currently using it on my thighs and my pubic area from front to backside and anything in between. I’m hairless from my waist to my knees. Thanks to this machine. I would add photos but being of the areas it might be offensive. Definitely use this after a shower and I’ve tried the attachments and prefer not to use them. The head of the machine I prefer against my skin.

Great for your entire body!

Now I won’t lie, epilation at the start hurts but past the initial stage it’s a breeze. I have found this epilator to be brilliant for removing my leg hair but also the attachments it comes with are incredibly useful. The shaver is great for arm hair and bikini line whilst the bikini trimmer is great for those more precise jobs. The exfoliation head is soft on the skin but is fantastic at reducing those pesky ingrown hairs but most surprising to me has been the pedicure head, it is perfect and my feet are now joining the rest of me as being satin smooth. Originally brought to be more environmentally conscious due to shaving waste but will not be looking back anymore, I have found my perfect accompaniment to my Lumea.

It's okay
9 August 2022

It works good when removing armpit and pubic hair. A bit painful and I needed little breaks while removing hair. It's also very loud and sounds like a power drill. I also don't like that it is curved because it misses hairs and I have to go over my skin multiple times. It does not work well on my legs because my hair is too thin there. It just rips the hairs but doesn't pluck them out from the root. So the hair grows back quickly on my legs and I get ingrown hairs. I'm going to have to buy Nair 'Cire Devine' wax to go over missed areas. This wax works really well but it's a hassle because the wax drizzles everywhere and I end up getting it on the floor. Definitely need newspaper on the floor when using this wax. That's why I prefer an epilator.

Legs & Under Arms

Legs. The first time I used it on my wet legs, it worked wonders! Made my skin smooth for over a week compared to a few days from regular shaving. The second time I used it on my wet legs about a month later, it couldn't catch the finer baby hair, so it left spots here and there. I had to go over those spots several times once my legs were dry to somewhat work.Under Arms. Ouch! Very sensitive the first time I used it and took over an hour to complete both underarms for my first time epilating. My husband thought it was pulling on my skin, when I think it was just literally tweezing out all the thick roots. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch... BUT WORTH IT! The second time I used it, it was not as painful, but it was still hard trying to get all the hair by myself as some were growing in different directions. Would be easier if you have a second person do it for you.All in all, I don't think I will ever go back to regular shaving for my non-sensitive areas. Although I feel like epilating takes longer than regular shaving due to spotty areas that don't catch on the first/second try, but the less frequency required to have smooth legs and hairless under arms is more convenient for me.

Love it
24 March 2023

As someone with PCOS, I get facial hair and this has changed my life, I just run this over quickly instead of standing there plucking individual hairs every day. It works very well for dark, coarse hairs, but less so for lighter hairs. It does armpits very well. It did my leg hairs well when I was white with darker hairs, but atm I am tanned and my hairs are blonde and it seems to struggle with them a bit now, takes a few going overs. But I still love it. If you have dark, coarse hairs you need this in your life.

For starters I have to say I was a little intimidated by the thought of using this epilator but after some trial and error I have grown to love it! The included instructions are lengthy but thorough and are definitely worth reading if you want to get the maximum benefits from this. Especially for first timers like me. When using this product for the first time I epilated on dry skin with the delicate cap attachment on my under arms. The pulling sensation was a little more than I could handle so the next time I made sure to epilate right after I showered when my pores were more open. This was an extremely beneficial step for me. It was a little awkward trying to see all of the little hairs but the built in light came in super useful. It does come with two different speeds; I’ve always used the second one I just feel like personally does better for my hair growth. Stretching your skin while epilating is for me a must. The optimal cap helps me do that without having to use my other hand. I don’t use that attachment a lot but I feel with more experience I will. Charging time is minimal. I always charge it up after each use, which is probably not necessary, and have never had issues with losing power. Love the fact it came with a little bag to store everything in one place so I can grab and get to work. So far I am super impressed. I had grown use to having to shave at least twice a week and now I’ve gone over a week and still smooth skin! Total game changer!

Where was I before this? 100% recommend this gem!

I normally don’t write reviews or let alone provide my thoughts on a product. However it’s important to mention that this is actually the first time I have purchased an epilator or have even epilated since it seemed quite painful so I avoided it. But let’s be honest, hair removal is a painful process at times. Before this absolute life saver though, I was stuck to either using a razor, waxing or hair removal creams. Unfortunately those all had their complications when it came to trying to leave my skin somewhat smooth or without any issues. I had to deal with ingrown hairs, razor bumps, cuts, itchy skin and just overall a huge uncomfortable mess. I can say after testing it and being hair free with smooth skin with no issues AT ALL, I fell in love. I found an absolute gem of a product and it even exceeded my own expectations. If you are afraid of the pain, then I recommend shaving your hairs, wait for them to grow out for a few days/to a week, then take a warm shower before epilating to lessen the pain. Then just use a soothing moisturiser for your body or the area epilated! That helped me a lot as a beginner :]

Works well but it’s a torture machine!
30 December 2021

I have to say, I was quite impressed with the way the epilator worked so well, it took me about 45 minutes to do both of my legs. But! In all the reviews I read, nobody has mentioned the pain! I have done shaving and waxing before and nothing compared to the pain of epilating. However I was quite impressed with the results, and I will use it again, although I am not looking forward to that amount of pain again. The epilator 8000 is a torture machine! I literally had to bite my lip, and I can usually handle a lot of pain. Make sure you’re ready and I would highly recommend taking a long bath in the evening to soften the skin first and I would not try this dry. I was literally hollering in pain from the bathtub. Just a warning.
