I've had many razors in my years. When I finally purchased a Philips razor life has changed for the good. I've had countless cost in disposable razors and crappy battery operated cheap razors that get half the job done.

These are not "Super Lift and Cut" blades like the HQ8 and SH50s, but they fit perfectly in my 12-year-old 5-series Norelco that was originally made for HQ8s. Despite being cheaper than the HQ8/SH50s, these provide a MUCH more comfortable shave without tugging like my old HQ8s. My shaving time and skin irritation are way down. These gave my old razor a new lease on life.

I've been using a Norelco shaver for close to 25 years and since the beginning only went with hq8 ( bare in mind I'm on my second razor in that many years! :) I even modified my shaver to accept other lift and cut blades that were rotating with the casing due to missing brake in the holder... Recently i gave the sh30 a try and I'm extremely pleased. I know they're brand new in the beginning and all but their potential is there. Cutting time is much improved vs hq8 heads yet result is probably not as close but I don't mind since irritation is gone as well. If you can't find hq8, give these a try instead yet only and I stress only buy directly from norelco philips and their affiliates to get original ones. My Philips shaving head replacement was purchased at Shaver Shop Erina Fair. It was not just a simple transaction as I asked for advice on the correct replacement heads for my series 3000 Philips electric razor. Unfortunately, the staff were not able to confirm the correct model but asked me to confirm with their customer service staff at HO which they did for me. I went back into the store a few days later and purchased the correct shaving heads.
The SH 30’s are the worst cutting blade Phillips Norelco has ever made. When it was just Norelco they took pride and made excellent products. When Phillips came along many years ago the quality went down and down. I haves used Norelco electric razors for more than 40 years and bought a Series 3000 in July. It came with SH30 shaving heads and it was poor from the first shave. I tries it about a dozen times since and I would just chuck the thing in the back of my drawer. The HQ8 blades lift and cut and are the best blades they have ever made. They are expensive, but work the best. The S30’s are close to 1/2 the price and cut about 1/2 as bad too. Quality Phillips quality!!!
I have been using my Norelco shaver for years, replacing the blades every few years. It uses the lift & cut style blades (HQ9 in my case). Recently I replaced them via Amazon. They did not come from Norelco and were terrible, so I decided to go directly to Norelco. When I did the search for HQ9, these blades (SH30), as well as SH50s, popped up. The reviews for SF50s were not good and one reviewer mentioned SH30s as an alternative and liked them. As a result I decided to go with them (also cheaper), and the are great. They will be my go-to blades from now on.
Bought on Amazon a few years ago. I put them on my shaver and thought I would die from the pain. Maybe they take time to get used to? No, they were horrific. Switched to buying from the manufacturer (here) and all is wonderful in the world today.
At my age (71), and having used Norelco shavers my whole life, I sincerely regret having to write this review. The replacement SH30 heads cut like crap. After only 3 shaves they are dull and leave stubble on my face. In the past I have purchased replacement heads off eBay and had the same experience (they were cheaper, so figured maybe they were seconds or something), so I figured I would order them straight from Norelco and get good ones. WRONG!! I am VERY disappointed and I’m now contemplating which brand of shaver I want to switch to.
