I love this toothbrush, its really well made and the functions are great. This is truly a smart toothbrush, its got an app with Bluetooth, it changes the setting for the vibration automatically depending on the type of head you put on, the max setting is really strong. Love that they make it in black. Looks nice and the case it came with can be use to charge the toothbrush. Honestly love Philips products. You have to try the pasta machine they make!

But tragedy struck, as most of my teeth (all but four) had gumline cavities either in front or in back all due to a lack of saliva caused from taking 120mg daily of OxyContin for chronic pain. I had no warning this might happen. Now, on 5mg Pilocarpine TID, to help keep the saliva flowing day and night and drinking nearly 2 gallons of water a day, I reached the conclusion that I finally had to purchase that DiamondClean ET by Philips Sonicare. I brush about 4 times a day using the gentle toothbrush heads on the sensitive setting. When I went to the dentist the other day for a checkup, they were amazed at the gum health improvement in the three weeks I had use the Sonicare, the absolute clean my teeth were even on Sensitive setting (and a Polish or Deep Clean once a week with the DiamondClean brushes) and, simply put, the overall cleaning job the DiamondClean Philips Sonicare Toothbrush has done in just three weeks of use. I can't imagine what the tech will see at my next visit in November 2017.Thank you, Philips! I now only wish I had purchased the DiamondClean when it first entered the market. But, it's never too late.

A useful option would be a 3 second window to give you chance to choose the setting and then continue brushing.Overall a great little product so far, it will definitely remain part of my daily routine.

Nothing but Sonicare for my family
19 July 2018

I have always struggled with dental hygiene until discovering Sonicare 6 years ago. Before then, I had brief experiences with other brands of electric toothbrush but they all worked on the simple theory of abrasion (through rotation) which didn't do anything useful for me. Sonicare, on the other hand, was a game changer with their ultrasonic technology. It left me with clean-feeling teeth everytime I used it, akin to a session of dental cleaning! Since this discovery, my entire family has switched to Sonicare toothbrushesSo the HX9312/04 DiamondClean electric toothbrush is one of the highest end of Sonicare models and it shows in the quality packaging and more importantly, the toothbrush itself. Since this discovery, my entire family has switched to Sonicare toothbrushesSo the HX9312/04 DiamondClean electric toothbrush is one of the highest end of Sonicare models and it shows in the quality packaging and more importantly, the toothbrush itself. The package contains the toothbrush handle, 2 DiamondClean brush heads, wireless glass charger, the handy USB travel case which doubles as a charger itself and a 2-pin power supply. The toothbrush handle itself is very well-made, coming in a satin-finish which feels ceramic-like and accentuated with a copper-coloured metallic bits. There is single button that cycles through the 5 available cleaning modes (Clean, Gum care, Polish, Sensitive and White). A full charge takes approximately 24hrs to complete and there is a simple battery indicator that pulses to let you know charging is underway.A brief explanation of how brushing works here. Sonicare advocates 2 mins of cleaning time - 30 seconds for each quadrant of teeth. By switching its vibrating frequency momentarily every 30 seconds, the toothbrush lets you know to switch quadrant so as not to "over brush" a particular area.Using the DiamondClean electric toothbrush for the 1st time, I came way convinced that Philips has upped the game again. First impressions are that the motor is much more refined in this model and leaves an even cleaner result! I was initially sceptical of the various brush modes but having tried them I believe they do work. I suffer from sensitive and receding gums and I was able to brush painlessly using the Gum care mode. This alone is worth the price of admission. I also gave the Whiten mode a spin and found that there is a slight and observable improvement. If you care about your dental hygiene, there is nothing in the market that will come close to Sonicare in helping you reach that goal. With the Sonicare DiamondClean HX9312/04, Philips has raised the bar again. It is nothing short of amazing, being beautifully made and comes with features that will do wonders for your teeth!

Powerful with amazing results

I’ve always used a manual toothbrush as i like to know my teeth have had a good clean. After using the Philips Sonicare only after a few days i was amazed that my teeth felt so clean. I feel like this toothbrush is providing a more powerful thorough clean removing particles much more than a manual toothbrush as I’m noticing my interdental brushes are “clean”I love that the toothbrush has different settings which determine what clean you want. I’m currently using the white setting first thing and switch to a normal clean before bed.I also like the aesthetically pleasing charging glass which comes with the toothbrush.I like to travel a lot and this toothbrush comes with a USB travel case which is really handy.I find the timer on the toothbrush a great ... MoreI’ve always used a manual toothbrush as i like to know my teeth have had a good clean. After using the Philips Sonicare only after a few days i was amazed that my teeth felt so clean. Pretty easy to use toothbrush
19 July 2018

I was using the other brand which is rotary style. When I received this electric toothbrush, it took me a while to get used to it. However, after a few days, I realized that this toothbrush cleans better! The molars can be reached easier and the plagues near the gum line takes less effort and time to clean. The outlook of the toothbrush is sleek and chic - perfect of ladies. However, I find the overall length of the toothbrush too long. And I have the habit of starting the toothbrush before I start cleaning my teeth, so the vibrations starts and 'hits' my teeth before I start brushing. I guess this is more of personal habit. Takes a while to get use to the number of times you have to press for the different mode but hey, so many modes available - no complains! ... MoreI was using the other brand which is rotary style. Battery seems long lasting for 1 charge and I hope this battery life will not diminish over time. The travelling box is extremely useful albeit a bit heavy since I travel quite a bit. I find that the cup with the wireless charging is not so useful in my case because I do not have powerpoint in my bathroom and I do not think the trial is practical for me to use the cup + base charging.Another thing I noticed is that when starting to use this, my teeth actually got a bit sensitive probably because I am not used to it. I love the gum care and sensitive mode. The polish mode is a little too strong for me.In summary, I like this toothbrush and it does a better job in cleaning compared to the previous brand I was using. The only drawback is the high retail price which some consumer might not be able to afford or feel that it is worth it.Update: Just tried the smaller brush head. Like it better than the normal size brush head because it is easier to get to hard-to-reach area.

I'm rating the DiamondClean as a 3 because I've owned 3 in the last 5 years.I'm a long time user of Sonicare toothbrushes (at least 20 years); We used to use another brand and the Sonicare toothbrush is far superior and my dentist is always complementing my teeth and gum health. I'm not sure why, my guess is the lithium ion rechargeable battery wore out. (I read on line lithium ion rechargeable batteries last about 5 years - mine lasted only 2) I called Sonicare and they told me my warrenty would not be honered on the replacement date and the origional purchase date was out of warrently. They gave me a 15% off coupon however when I went to their website I saw there was a 15% off sitewide so my special coupon did not seem very special.I was so unhappy, the idea of spending so much for another sonicare toothbrush (plus the cost for additional replacement heads every 3 months) seemed irresponsible; not to mention...brushing manually made me feel really spoiled. To my surprise, my husband bought me a new DiamondClean classic edition toothbrush for my birthday. I could not be happier; I tore open the box and ran to plug it in to start charging it...I also registered it right away - a 2.5 year warranty.Technically speaking the idea of spending so much every 2.5 years - really seems excessive. My big question to Sonicare is, what was wrong with the first rechargeable battery that lasted 10+ years. My 2nd question is; why not make it easy to replace the darn lithum ion rechargeable battery or at the very least provide a replacement battery service.Clearly, the Sonicare toothbrush is one of the best brushing experiences anyone will have. Why not make the product experience just as nice; or extend the warranty to 5 years. I was so on the fence; already searching for a competitor product that might last longer. Luckily my husband came in and saved the day...I can tell you this much -we can't afford to purchase these for our teenagers. Could you imagine the cost? Every 2.5 years...

The product is effective.

I replaced a unit I owed for five years before it failed. I did purchase a new Philips electric toothbrush and love using it. I do have an issue with your customer support. Not one representative could answer my questions in comparing products or replacement parts. I found your support unit very knowledgeable for your products. Had to do my own research to find compatible brush replacement . Not sure if I will purchase a Philips product again due to lack of customer support.

Very poor quality
18 August 2021

This had to be replaced after just three months of use. The only positive thing I can say on the subject is that a replacement was sent to me very swiftly, which is impressive as I didn’t have the receipt or proof of purchase (the toothbrush was a birthday present). My much cheaper Sonicare toothbrush from many years ago is still going strong, I might add. The only reason I opted to use this new one was because my old toothbrush handle looks faded and worn but, frankly, I’ll take my faded and worn toothbrush that works over a brand, spanking new toothbrush that doesn’t last five minutes. Not impressed at all. Clearly Philips has gone overboard with their planned obsolescence strategy. Rein it in, please, Philips.
