Confusing instructions and website out of date

This product should come with better instructions in the box rather, than and a one sheet pictorial representation which seems to be a little different to the product. In my case, image 13 on the pictorial seemed to show that there are three LED’s to show differing levels of charge status but on the product itself there is only one LED for this. I had to telephone Philips to find out the meaning of the displays from the single LED and, in so doing, got pointed in the direction of a 64 page user manual on their website which gave the information on how to decipher the various phases of flashing lights. I realise that putting a user manual in the box covering all languages would be a bulky document but there must be a way of producing a manual in the official language ... MoreThis product should come with better instructions in the box rather, than and a one sheet pictorial representation which seems to be a little different to the product. Using the website’s “Find the toothbrush head that is best for you – Go to advisor” function and selecting G3 Premium Gum Care only brings up one option which is in white. I had to telephone Philips to query this and was given a different code HX9054/33 which the online advisor does not show. The website toothbrush head finder needs to be kept up-to-date by (1) not showing products “no longer available” e.g. HX9054/06 but (2) showing those which are e.g. HX9054/33.Furthermore, when trying to find my toothbrush on the Philips online system I type in the code on the bottom of my product which is HX680B but that is not recognised. The website needs to recognise all of your product codes.

Delighted with purchase - Charged 2 weeks ago & still going strong. A slight difference in vibration every 30 seconds lets you know when to move to a different corner of mouth. Two vibration intensities to choose from which is also great. Not too many features just a simple toothbrush but very effective - can definitely see a difference in whiteness of teeth - happy customer. An extended warranty included which in total gives you a 3 year guarantee. What's not to love

I have used Oral B electric toothbrushes over the last 10+ years. This time I undertook a lot of research as I was not overly impressed with the results I had achieved from Oral B despite their claims. I felt Sonic was the latest initiative and would probably be the way of the future. As a result of grinding my teeth for many years I have receding and sensitive gums. I consciously ensure that my teeth are always flossed and cleaned twice daily with six monthly dentist check-ups. Taking my needs into place I felt the Phillips Sonicare Protective Clean Electric Toothbrush was the one for me and it has exceeded my expectations. Fantastic results in a short time. Highly recommended

Excellent...so long as it lasts !
17 March 2024

I am very happy with the Sonic. It is the second one I have bought. It does everything it says and it should. However, my previous one lasted about a year until it started to vibrate very badly and really didn't move much. Out of any guarantee I looked up how to take it apart to find the whole mechanism is dependent on one screw holding the vibrating pin.Possibly the worst design I have seen for what is an expensive product. When it works, it works well. Just hope this one doesn't do the same as the last one.

Good toothbrush, short history
6 September 2024

Only giving this 4 stars because this is the second set we've had to buy. After a couple of years the head unit gets really loose and noisy and entire toothbrush needs to be replaced. This happen twice. The first was inside the 2 year warranty and they replaced it for free. The second broke just after the warranty expired. There really are only 2 choices for electric toothbrushes, Phillips and Oral-B. We stayed with Philips. We hope these last longer.

Not your usual electric toothbrush
13 April 2024

My last electric toothbrush battery gave up so it was time for a new one. The Philips sonicare feels like a big improvement. The rate and intensity of the vibrations seems almost like something at the dentist. Took a bit of getting used to at the beginning but now love it. Definitely cleans better. Battery life is amazing also. A little pricey, but not for something you use twice a day!

Reduction in quality ?
8 August 2024

My wife and l have been using Philips Sonic toothbrushes for years, but recently l have the feeling that the quality is not as good as it used to be. Lately I've had one with the start button collapse and n another one, the central shafts holding the brush became very loose and totally failed (and no, it had mot been dropped). This was approximately less than 18 months old.Not impressed. I haven't made contact under warranty, because l know I'll be told it has been dropped. I've also mentioned previously, that in my opinion they are overcharging for both the toothbrush and accessories.

Sonicare toothbrush
10 April 2024

I was reluctant to start using the Sonicare toothbrush as I was afraid it could damage my bridge.I was recommended to use the Sonicare by my hygeinist. I also have an implant and I have a chronic infection but the implant is stuck fast so I have to manage this. I am very pleased with how the Sonicare performs on all my teeth, natural or not and at last the gum around my implant has stopped bleeding. I found it easy to use and if I press too hard the Sonicare beeps to let me know. It was easy to charge which took 12 hours. I think the charge should last 3 weeks but I only charged 2 days ago so can't comment. The charging stand is a double pin (bathroom) so I had to buy an adaptor until I have a charging point in the bathroom. The toothbrush is light and sits comfortably in the hand and this version came with a neat hard plastic travel case. The brush head is small but very effective and is easy to manouevre around the mouth. It tickled my gums the first few times I used this.

Very clean, but poor button design
22 March 2023

I have 2 of these, bought about 2 years apart. The design has not improved in this time. Firstly, this cleans very well. Better than the dentist's cleaning even - I suspect this is removing some stains that scaling and polishing can't. And the good thing is, because the bristles don't really move, it's much more gentle than rotating electric toothbrushes, especially at the gumline. I think this model is as good as the more expensive models (in other words, don't need to buy them). Also, it's on lithium battery, although it doesn't charge particularly fast. The main problem is the button quickly separates and sinks into the body, making a huge gap. I already had one brush replaced under warranty. Both of my brushes are still working and in use, so at least they last ... MoreI have 2 of these, bought about 2 years apart. The design has not improved in this time. Firstly, this cleans very well. [Rewarded Review] Game changer
24 August 2024

My husband and I both purchased the Sonic 4100 toothbrush about one month ago. We love the 2 minute process assuring that all quadrants of our mouths are ultra clean. We love the feeling of freshness after brushing. On a more concrete note, my husband sees a periodontist twice a year because he has an excessive plaque and tartar problem which affects his gum health. Last week, his periodontist was amazed at how little of these he found. After 3 weeks, a specialist saw concrete results. What more can I say!
