I purchased a Pioneer DJ controller from Zzounds and while I was still paying on it, it went bad within a year while still under warranty. I have been in contact with Pioneer for over a month now. They sent me to a repair shop and since then whenever I contact the shop, they claim to be waiting on Pioneer to send the part. When I tried to contact Pioneer, they keep on giving me the run around and would not let me speak to a supervisor. I have spent thousands of dollars on Pioneer DJ products. I'm regretting now. If I had only known.

Overall:I seriously wish this had come out a very long time ago, when I got into djing. Portable, easy to use, and it has all of the basics that you need and more. Not only does it work with both an Iphone and spotify, but it also works with bluetooth and the experience is flawless, since there's hardly any lagging. Maybe once in a blue moon it might lagged, but it snaps out of it quickly. In conclusion this is a great controller for someone to start. If you are looking into djing, but don't want to spend money on a laptop and an expensive controller while using your Spotify account, this is the best option to go with, as it will allow you to learn the basics, but also, get you into djing and helping you take it further from there. Before I forget, shouts out to zZounds. The payment plans are super convenient, customer service online or over the phone is helpful, but also, they do mean business when they say you will get it in 2 days. Highly recommendable.

I have retired from entertainment industry years ago but still feel excited about the music and technology. There is one main reason why my boy and I decided to return it: mono sound if you need to pre-cue your songs. The unit itself does not have on-board headphone jack so in order to monitor the next-up song you need to split stereo sound from your phone / computer (using provided cable) into one mono channel for main speakers ... Hooked this up to my PC downloaded a copy of djay and a few minutes later I'm able to mix all my favourite songs from mp3 and spotify.It's super light, only needs a usb connection to power it, buttons and knobs are fairly solid, tables are spot on and way more responsive than I was expecting.My one major problem with this unit (and I was tempted to drop a star), is that it doesn't connect to djay on my android tablet via bluetooth... DJKIT are kind enough to tell you this in the description before you buy, so please check out their chart! This is truly the only flaw which I'm sure djay and Pioneer will resolve in time.2x things I would have liked but appreciate its super low entry price...A few gain knobs added.Speed adjustment ... Purchased the DDJ-200 smart DJ controller just before Christmas; this kit simply made our Christmas and New Year party. It was so intuitive and the connectivity was so simple. It is also really portable and so it’s become part of my weekend away travel essentials. Love it!

However, if you're like me and you already have an audio interface + MIDI controller, you can definitely get away with going for the DDJ 200. I have a Behringer X-Touch Mini which I've mapped to get the same functionality as the 400. Mapping a MIDI controller in rekordbox is pretty easy. The jog wheels feel nice and responsive, the pitch + volume faders have more resistance than the crossfader, which feels right. Whilst larger volume + pitch faders would be great, I haven't felt myself feeling cramped using the 200, the EQ section feels great and all 8 dials have a satisfying click back to the middle. Overall, I'm really happy with the DDJ-200.
After being out of DJing for a few years, I wanted to make my way back into DJing, except using streaming services which is NEW to me. I bought this controller due to the positive reviews and price point. I am learning how to use SoundCloud as my source for music. It's a great piece of gear, just needs a few things that I'm sure are available on higher end units. For my learning curve, I should have bought a little higher end with the features I want. Overall, it is a great controller. Very responsive. Easy Setup. Works as advertised.

This goes for both the controller and the WeDJ app, and this is especially true if you're trying to use an Android device to run WeDJ. Pioneer supposedly designed this for beginners but inexplicably they didn't provide instructions. The handful of pioneer help videos are more like promo videos. Just be prepared for a lot of digging around and research. My kiddo wanted to give up on it but we eventually figured out enough for him to start enjoying it.And if you are Android user it's especially confusing. Pros: Extremely well built for what it does. Great design. Quality of jockey wheels are brilliant. Like the connectivity via Bluetooth - has negligible lag too. Love messing about with the collection of music whilst learning a new skill. This is a great product for any new beginner DJ. Connects to iPhone via Bluetooth or to a PC/Mac via included cable. Headphone splitter works a treat too.Cons: It takes a lot of getting use to the features on any one interfacing software - DJay, WeRekord or other. But the functionality is there. Unfortunately one key selling point of using DJay as the interfacing software being able to use Spotify is disappearing from July 1st 2020. Not great this as there doesn't seem to be a replacement feature using a music stream.
