Pioneer Big Max Stainless Steel Pet Drinking Fountain - 3.6 litres

My dogs took to it immediately, the 4 month kitten was skeptical, but we showed her it was just water and she immediately began using it. She likes to drink from the top where the water pours out. She still runs to the sink in the bathroom sometimes, but hopefully this will help curve that. It is extremely quiet. I love this thing. Easy to put together, and I just add in more water daily. I plan on cleaning it out periodically, but beats having to wipe down a water bowl and fill multiple times a day. (My animals will not drink from dirty bowls, even day old dirty bowls) Saves me time and effort!!!! Thank you for making this!

The pump on this item stopped working within 2 months so not it is pretty much just an expensive stainless steel dog bowl that could have been purchased for a fraction of the cost without the "automatic water dispenser". Save your money and don't but this product

Awful, stopped working after 2 weeks

I bought this for my 2 golden retrievers and my cat. They all seemed to like my previous fountain which was too small for all 3. I bought this with high hopes after reading some reviews, looking at other options, and prices. However after I got this, it was shortly after that it just stopped working. My husband tried cleaning the filter, seeing if it was clogged with pet hair, and it actully started working again. Then a few days later, boom. It stopped working again. AND it has rust stains. I called and complained and was happy they're sending me a replacement. I'm definitely not convinced that the new one will work, but I hope. If it doesn't I guess I'll be calling again but this time asking for a refund.

Great Product

I have 3 male tabbies. All 3 use this fountain. It is extremely quiet...with the proper water level.To consider: All fountains will eventually get slimy....if your pets use the fountain. The slime is a chemical by-product of their saliva. Most (if any) filters are not constructed to filter out the chemicals from saliva. To address the slime, I have to clean the fountain every week...sometimes I can go 2 weeks. I rinse the filter and reuse for about 1 month or when I start seeing objects in the water. I disassemble and clean the pump approx 1x/month. (I have several pumps as backups.Noise: The fountain is extremely quiet. I have 2 fountains for them. To prevent any accidents, including cats playing in water, I've placed the item inside of a clean plastic litter box. I've elevated it so that it is easy for my boys to access but difficult to spill / spray water on the floor. Also, when moving the fountain (e.g. to dissemble and clean), it's easier to pick up the entire litter box and if any water spills, it will spill in the box thus avoiding cleanup and or accidental falls. (Years ago I purchased the ceramic version. I was less pleased because it requires that same level of attention but I was always afraid of cracking the ceramic somewhere in the cleaning process. Again, it is substantially heavier - especially when full - than this model.)I tried to upload a 10 sec video but the system wouldn't allow itI rate this fountain 5 stars because its easy to clean, doesn't require attention everyday (at least not for my boys), extremely quiet (location is my bedroom), keeps the water cool (allegedly cats prefer cool, moving water) and the boys use it. The above "conditions" (cleaning, maintenance, filling water) appear to be the same no matter what fountain is chosen...for my 3 boys (cats).

Great Product

Historically, we have always used a bowl. After looking around and reading reviews I decided to try this bowl. I went with the big max as we have 4 cats and occasionally a dog visitor. Initially the cats were spooked and were afraid. I had kept the original water bowl set up. Over a couple days they adjusted and now this is the one they use 99% of the time. The original is still available, but is rarely used. I also like the idea of no corners and plan on cleaning it once a month when the filter is changed. I highly recommend this product.

This Pioneer Pet Big Max Stainless Steel fountain has a large enough width at the bottom for my large Lab, which is exactly what I wanted. My two cats drink out of both the bottom and the little reservoir at the top. The fountain is completely SILENT. I am very bothered by background noise so this is very important. And best of all, the stainless steel. It keeps the water cool, and it will be super easy to clean. One of the best Christmas gifts I’ve ever gotten for my pets, and they seem to agree!!

Nice Quiet Fountain

So far so good. We have been using this fountain for about 2 months and have not had any problems with it. It is easy to clean and assemble. I take it apart and clean it every 3 or 4 days with dish soap. My dogs and cat always put their paws in the water, so I clean it frequently. It could probably go longer without being cleaned if they did not play in it. They have tramped in the bowl by mistake and it never tipped, but it does splash some water onto the floor. We put a feeding placemat with raised edges under it to help with this problem. When I clean it, it is not slimy. It is very quiet and holds a lot of water, which is nice because we were filling up the regular water bowl multiple times a day. Now we only fill it once a day. The cord is very short and barely makes it to the floor from the plug on the wall behind the kitchen counter. It would be nice if the cord was a little longer. Overall it is a good value if you get it on sale.

I bought this second hand so I did get a great price on a practically new fountain. The pump is tiny, and it did not hook to the fountain but it took me all of ten minutes to make a connection hose out of a scrap of tubing. Im not sure if all of them would have this problem or if it was missing this item. (Second hand an all, no instruction or parts sheet). We got it together and running in just a little while so not really hard. I bought the large size as we have five cats and two small dogs, have to add water daily but we did that anyway with the last bowl. It circulates pretty well has a bubbler effect. One cat is crazy about drinking water now, not sure it has encouraged the one I really wanted to though but this no fault of the fountain. Upset

I read the reviews prior to purchasing as I always do. However, my review is the opposite. I anxioulsy awaited for this product and tried it out for two weeks. The bowl I cleaned it one week after purchase as I noticed my animals not using it. After realizing there was slime under the fountain are I began cleaning it every third day, it still continues to builds up slime in same area as well as around the filter.. I went to contact the company and it clearly states non returnable. so Now use your own judgement this is alot of money to spend and cannot use the product. Not because my pets dont like it but the product builds up slime QUICKLY and my animals wont use it , tho I cannot blame them!

Works as intended.

I think I ordered the medium with the intent of not having to fill the water on the daily and because the kids never remember to refill the water bowl. But with a puppy and a 60 lb dog, I still find myself having to refill this 1-2x everyday. Other than that, it works fine, it's quiet (I have it set on the lowest setting right now) but the instructions were a bit confusing, but finally figured out that the pump goes inside the little casing. Not sure if I'll keep this or not as when summer comes around the dogs will go thru even more water. Winter not such a issue as the dogs eat nothing but snow.
