This is a turntable for those of us who can't afford or can't justify the a Technics (Pioneer) SL-1200 turntable. The build quality is superb and features are excellent at this price point. The acrtridge it is supplied with is OK, but if you upgrade you will have a turntable that will outperform it's price tag and give you many MANY years of service. This turntable isn't pretending to be an SL-1200, but it stands by itself for a great second choice for the price point. Highly recommended!

A little set up is required but full instructions with pictures are included. Everything you need, including connecting cables is in the box. This is the first turntable I've purchased in 30 years. Aftee lots of research and talking to friends in the industry I decided on the Pioneer PLX-500 and am seriously impressed, its just as good as the ancient SL1200 I used to run BITD!Excellent construction, weight inspires confidence in the build quality. Great sound after set up and am.i am 100% back to my vinyl. Even 30 year old white labels bought in Soho way back when sound fantastic.Running this with my Kef Q500s and 1980s Marantz amp, I couldn't be happier.This PLX-500 will soon be joined by another and a mixer, again, the first in years.The service and delivery from Richer Sounds was excellent, 100% recommended!
This record player (Pioneer DJ PLX-500-W) is not only a beauty to the eye but also and more importantly the sound is really great. Price of the record player was very good in comparison to competitors. Shipment by Musicstore was done quickly, received one day sooner than expected and shipment information was updated timely. Definitely would order again at Musicstore.
Not sure where this fits really. Its sound quality isn’t good enough as straight usb vinyl converter for the price and it’s definitely not fit for club battle. Too flimsy, with the torque too soft to really mix and scratch at a decent level. Ironic, given the model name. Did manage to warm up the sound by replacing the cartridge which should have been better at the price. One benefit is that it does convert vinyl direct to Rekordbox albeit at an inferior quality. I’d ‘scratch’ it off the list.
Have wanted a new turntable for at least 6 months. Been to hi fi shop but wasnt impressed as all the turntables looked very basic. Always wanted one with a strobe light and spotted the Pioneer PLX500 on the Richer Sounds website. Ordering was so easy and arrived the next day. Forgotten how crisp vinyl records sound.Strongly recommended
Ordered a pair of these for home use, listening and mixing, and are spot on. USB allows you to convert vinyl. Quite a few turntables out there at around this price point to choose from, but for me was an easy decision as I have other Pioneer DJ equipment and always been happy with the brand. Build quality is very good, I had read some reviews that said the plastic build could cause some unwanted feedback, but personally not had any issues. Sound quality is very good. Great for home set up. Very happy with the turntables and also great service from djkit.com
Nice solid build, feels expensive, has a vinyl sleeve holder in the plastic case which is nice and you can play 78 if thats your thing. A rising tone arm is also a nice touch ands the deck speeds up very quickly, downside i found (could just be me) is that the slipmat isnt all that especially when recording to PC (i used my rubber mat) as i got less feedback and static. The cartridge does it's job but i changed mine to a Numark CS-1 for better quality.Overall very pleased and a definate improvment over my Kam Pro 150 belt drives
