Pixi Glow Tonic - 250ml

My skin is well acclimated to AHAs, BHAs , different forms of Vitamin c as well as different forms of Vitamin A aka Retinol. However, I will say I have fairly sensitive skin and do have mild rosacea. I was definitely not 100% sure about using this product since for me and a lot of ppl 5% glycolic acid Is definitely a high amount to use as a toner. However when I got some free samples at my local , I decided to try it. Especially since I use other products that contains acids, and I was absolutely correct in making that assumption. It’s wayyyy too harsh to use as an everyday toner, especially for someone who uses other acids on a daily basis as well as retinol. Which is a lot less than you’ll find in a lot of drugstore acne based cleansers, 2% is usually the starting point. Which personally, makes it hard for someone with acne prone skin to use the benefits of other acids if they’re already using a high percentage in just one product. I like to get the most out of these ingredients and using 5% glycolic acid as a daily toner, made my skin feel dehydrated, irritated, as well as some stinging and burning discomfort. I like to use products like Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads - Travel Size which have a 20% proprietary complex of salicylic, lactic, glycolic, amino acids as well as some hydrating and soothing ingredients like green tea, and chamomile. I think using a product like this daily can make it all to easy to accidentally over exfoliate then skin causing issues with the skins natural moisture barrier. If you need were to use this toner everyday, incorporating other acids or retinol would be almost impossible without having dehydration and irritation. I love using chemicals peels as well which I would put this product in if it had more benefits besides just exfoliating. Way too much acid all in one sitting for my taste.

The Glow Tonic contains natural and cruelty-free ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Ginseng and botanical extracts and has a pleasant yet strong floral scent that quickly dissipates. Although the scent is quite strong, it is not overpowering and the scent does not irritate me at all. I actually really like the smell of the Tonic! This Tonic also contains 5% Glycolic Acid to exfoliate and smooth the skin, it's alcohol and paraben free, not tested on animals (this applies to all Pixi products by the way) and is suitable for all skin types. After application, my combination and sensitive skin looks radiant, glowing, fresh and healthy, without causing any irritation. My skin feels hydrated, velvety and smooth, without leaving a tight, stinging or greasy feeling. My red spots also seem to be less present. After a full day at work, my face still feels smooth and soft and that beautiful, radiant glow is still there. I definitely am a fan because I really think this is a top product and I definitely recommend the Pixi Glow Tonic, even to people who, just like me, are sensitive to irritations, red spots and Rosacea and / or have sensitive skin!

I also love the smell, it has this nice floral scent while other products have really strong chemical smell. I can see that my skin is cleaner and soft after the use, it also looks smoother. Although it’s more expensive than other glycolic acid I can feel it’s a better quality and worth the money.

This product is perfect (for my skin) I use it on days I dont put retinol. The difference on my skin is very noticeable, so much that Im getting compliments on my skin. I don’t use cotton pads, just directly pat it with my hands on to my face I feel like it works better and there’s no waste. I was also struggling with back acne for a whole year and I literally tried everything, this completely cleared my back within a month!! Please do your research before using glycolic acid, see what you can mix it with in your routine and how to avoid irritation, it WILL cause irritation if used wrong. It can also break your skin barrier. Note that you can also purge on this product. But after your research BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Astonishing!

I decided to buy this after researching and seeing this tonic had amazing reviews. I really didn’t expect to get these results myself, having tried and tested so many brands. I was so wrong, from the first use at night and waking in the morning, my skin and complexion looked and felt completely different. My skin went from dry and dull looking, to bright and fresh and looking healthy. I have been using this for over a week now, and am thrilled and hooked. I use it morning and evening after cleansing, and follow with my usual serum and moisturiser. I am so happy with the results, I plan to purchase more from the Pixi range. Heading into my half century birthday, I would like to try and stay looking as youthful as possible!

Best Toner for many skin conditions!

I've been a consistent skin care user since I was a teenager, reading ingredients & trying different brands to find the "perfect" product. I FINALLY found it, ?? years later LOL. It is rare to find a brand & product that is alcohol-free, quality ingredients, tones, wipes away dirt/impurities, and leaves your skin smoother & glowing! Glow Tonic really does all that, and immediately became my favorite toner of all-time! Rare for me to right a 'GLOWING' review, but I give credit where credit is due. I love the hydroxy acids, and the ingredients in this product. My skin is NOT sensitive, so for those with sensitive skin, always test it out 1st. GLOW TONIC really does leave your skin GLOWING, CLEAN & SMOOTH! A Glowing Five stars!

Use after hyaluronic acid serum

As relative newcomer to skincare (even at my age!), I was recommended this toner as something that could really help me with my new skin issues. I think I might’ve gone too hard, too fast though, adding too many new products at once as I found my skin got very unhappy after using this, so much so that I almost decided against buying it again. At first, when I wasn’t used to using many actives/acids, I found the tingling sensation really quite intense and unpleasant on my quite sensitive skin and found my face was looking more red and “unhappy” which really put me off using it. But I was determined to persevere, so I paired back how often I used it and tried to avoid using it in the same routine as any other actives before building up my tolerance. I have oily/combination skin, so find BHAs are more effective at deeply exfoliating my skin but I love using this after a really hydrating cleanser to help reveal that glow that everyone talked about, when I first heard of it! Now I have finally got to grips with it, I will always have some in my collection. I just rotate it with a gentler, more hydrating toner (love Pixi’s Rose Tonic) if I feel like my skin needs a bit of a “break”. So I’d say if new to skincare/acids or have sensitive skin, just take some time to build up use and be aware of what you’re layering it with, to really get the most out of it. But it’s definitely a great product.

So… I wasn’t even aware of these chemical toner products until a friend mentioned lotion p50 to me after I commented on her smooth skin. After researching lotion p50 I quickly realised it was completely out of my price range and began researching alternatives. I have highly sensitive skin and am allergic to a lot of products so I was apprehensive when I walked into boots and bought this 100ml bottle of glow tonic.Just wow. I’m not over exaggerating when I say there was a difference overnight! My mum even commented on the smoothness of my skin a few days later! It’s amazing stuff, I love it! I suffer from patchy pigmentation and also annoying hormonal spots and it’s kept this all at bay, so I’ll be buying the bigger bottle. I have very oily skin, but the older I get, the more sensitive it gets. It’s difficult to deal with both issues. When glycolic acids first came out, I was all over them! The stronger the better and my skin looked great. Not anymore! After using a high percentage of glycolic, malic and lactic acid toner every night for about 3 months, my face dried out so much, but I figured using a rich moisturizer right after was enough. I was wrong. My skin had dried out so badly, that the oil, etc. became trapped in my pores and couldn’t come out! Not only did I get A LOT oilier, my face was a hideous mess, with tons of pores clogged with sebaceous filaments, tiny white dots, actually like very tiny, thin pieces of rice. Disgusting.
