Originally bought a 6650xt. Tried to like it…but…too much stuttering and fps drops in games.Took it back and picked up the 3060 and couldn’t be happier. Yes, it cost about $80 more, but the difference in the performance of the cards makes up for it. I’m able to run “epic” on Squad. Could not do that on the 6650xt.Lesson learned.If AMD could figure out the driver issue, they would have a pretty good competitor. However, stuttering while you’re trying to game is unacceptable.NVIDIA just seems to work. Now, if they just had the settings that the Adrenaline software from AMD offers. That would be a match made in heaven.

I've had no problem with reliability for this card, which I'm only using for games. I've built PCs many times over the years, and it's become pretty easy, albeit it's so hard to get GPUs these days. This GPU performs better than a 2080ti, and the extra memory will help it in years to come.It runs maybe 60 degrees if playing Doom Eternal or other modern games maxed out. RTX and VR are great. You can definitely hear that fan, but it seems up to the task.Contruction quality is medium. The housing feels cheap and is plastic, and there were little bits of plastic in the fan that I cleared out before running. Clean your GPU before installing, and listen to it carefully. I didn't play any games with the ordering process, no bots or F5 refreshing. to me, saving the time is worth the (substantial) cost premium.One great plus is this card doesn't weigh much and will not stress any physical aspect of my motherboard. It's running fine with a 5700x in a 750 watt power supply, honestly the most trouble-free build I've ever had.If you like modding games like GTAV and Skyrim, the extra memory will really be appreciated. If you're using this to mine, I really doubt it's the best choice due to the smaller heatsink and plastic chassis. It looks like it would be somewhat difficult to tear down and reassemble (less so than a more premium card).

I am glad that I waited.The reason why I gave this card 2 stars is two fold: 1) Though it was originally decided that I would get an RTX 3060 for my rig, this was a solid backup plan to my build at a price point that is much less than the scalped prices.2) Though I had already had this item in my hands, I would never be able to accept the fact that I would have had to pay nearly double for something that could easily buy me something better…and because I won the internet for once and DID successfully buy something better, at a $127 less.If you are in the same boat that I was, don’t give up. I played planet zoo all this weekend, the vram usage goes as high as 9.5G, I am glad to have a 12G card for 690 after tax. GTA V and RDR2 run much smoother than my previous RX580. The heat is manageable, fan speed never went over 90%, I play with my headphones on, so noise is not a concern for me. Overall nice ... I played planet zoo all this weekend, the vram usage goes as high as 9.5G, I am glad to have a 12G card for 690 after tax. GTA V and RDR2 run much smoother than my previous RX580. The heat is manageable, fan speed never went over 90%, I play with my headphones on, so noise is not a concern for me. Overall nice little card. 300 more $ and at least one more happy weekend than not having it OR stressful looking for a msrp drop for weeks? I chose the former.
I read some reviews saying they just threw this thing loose in a box and that was not the case with mine. It was packaged normally and sealed. I'll say the price is still high for a 3060 but I've seen an extra 80% on top of this from scalpers and local shops. The reality is this is probably the best chance you have at getting a 30 series card for another 6 months below 1k. For me it was a gigantic upgrade from my 670. Probably 3-4x faster at everything and photoshop/lightroom don't have many issues I was having before. The fan is almost completely silent even under load in benchmarks. Really a great card if it was less than 400$ and a pretty good card for above. FYI to change the colors on the rgb you need to get pny's software. It has some overclocking options like ... The card gets the job done. The pricing is way too high though. It's not extraordinary by any measure, but it met the requirements of what I needed and wanted. I used it in an OG Xbox build. I added additional heatsinks to the back of the PCB since it doesn't have a backplate. You'll see I added some aluminum fin heatsinks, as well as a few copper plates. If the card is on a heavy discount and you need a small form factor type card, then this one will work.
This GPU is amazing! Coming from a Radeon RX580 8gb, this is a huge improvement even if it is one of the lower spec RTX cards. Switching from AMD to Nvidia was an easy process, driver uninstall utility made it very simple. Still strong in 2022, it can run Minecraft bedrock with RTX addons at over 90fps and java edition with the best shaders at 60fps at 16 chunk render distance. Additionally, it can run VRChat at my headset's full 90fps even in very populated lobbies. Every other game isn't even worth mentioning, everything else I play runs perfectly at max graphics.

But, that said, most 3060 graphics cards will perform very similarly and the 3060 is in a nice sweet spot performing about the same as the more expensive 2070 and 1080. PNY is mostly a memory and flash company so graphics cards are not their core strength. At least the fans don't run when not needed which is something PNY is too clueless to even advertise on their own website. This is a no frills graphics card that works well enough but everything about it is cheap. Other 3060 cards have a metal back plate but the PNY has a plastic back plate that tries to look like metal. But, it does stay well below the max thermal limits. So, as long as it doesn't fail, all 3060 cards perform about the same. And hopefully PNY honors their warranty if it does fail. All that said beware the single fan version is too tall for some cases, and the triple fan version is much longer. And the RGB aspect is just a waste of money in my opinion. It defaults to really bright white LED lighting but it might be a plus for some into that sort of thing.
