A hidden gem of a title

This game is peak Gamefreak design. Not is the story actually thought provoking, but it also doesn't grind the game to a halt. Plus it's got just enough exploration to keep you busy without being tedious to go back or find stuff. And the cherry on top? The game is challenging without being grindy and unfun. A shame the fans didn't like it, and now legit copies are priced like rare artifacts. But if you can get it at a good price I'd recommend it.

Arguably the best one yet

First off, don't be fooled by people saying this generation has "too many" cut-scenes. Most people who say this are the ones who just want the mindless hours of grinding or people who kept going straight to mission objections instead of exploring every inch of the world has to offer. This generation gives a breath of fresh air to both casual and hardcore pokemon fans. It embodies most of the good mechanics that the past generations had, plus new unique stuff, and of course the quality of life changes on long time mechanics such as ride pager replacing HMs, which in turn gives you a more freedom on how you want to travel around without the limitations HMs have. Don't be discouraged if you haven't touched a pokemon game for years, because this game won't overwhelm you ... MoreFirst off, don't be fooled by people saying this generation has "too many" cut-scenes. Don't be discouraged if you haven't touched a pokemon game for years, because this game won't overwhelm you on its pacing. In terms of difficulty, it's not the hardest, but it's not easy either. In fact, you can adjust the difficulty with your play-style instead in an option screen toggle. If you want game to be easier, turn on Exp. Share, if you want more challenge, then leave it off. If that's still easy for you, then don't mindlessly grind levels, or tunnel vision on specific powerful pokemon species. Have fun by balancing grind/exploration/story/other mechanics like PokePelago and Festival Plaza, plus being creative with pokemon in your party. All in all, there are many things to get your interest on this gen. The only thing that would discourage you is if you're into mega-evolution, as this gen doesn't have that, instead have Z-moves as it's unique new feature.

It's a fun game but is rather laggy on my 2ds during some parts of the game, especially during double battles. However those aren't too common so it's not too bad. The story is pretty good, although it does have a lot of cutscene/dialog, some would say way too many. I really liked the character development for the most part, other than the rival who doesn't really change. I looked forward to playing more during my playthrough, and was not forcing myself to finish it through. I currently have about 100 hours on the game, a lot of which is spent in the post game. Well worth the money for a used game.

Good game, but not perfect.
4 August 2017

Pokemon sun is a GOOD game, but not as good as pokemon X/Y. Graphics: Very good for the system standards it needs to be, although I have seen some pixelated textures here and there on certain characters or objects. Music: I like the music, but some soundtracks get a bit repetitive and some songs are played a few times during the game's story. Gameplay: The game is very good overall, so I will divide this down to good and not so good: + One thing I really like about this game is during battle it tells you whether or not attacks are "super effective" or not before you pick the attack, which helps beginners or those who can't memorize which enemies are weak to what. + I really liked progressing through the story and meeting all the "captians" and "Hakunas" and beating ... MorePokemon sun is a GOOD game, but not as good as pokemon X/Y. I liked being asked things like "What do you pursue in your life" and things like that. + I like exploring all the towns and such which is in all pokemon games - Battle tree (unlocked after clearing the game) is very unfair to win and - Super training was not included in the game which was amazing to have back in pokemon X/Y Story: I liked most of the story, but felt certain cutscenes of the story could have been better. For some reason, the character you play as kept smiling during cutscenes even when something evil is going on. Everything else in the story was fine though.

Great game!

I love this game! I had Pokemon Moon when it was released and I had forgotten how great it is. I went for sun as I had previously played moon. Its a bit of a new twist on the traditional Pokmon series format but a really enjoyable addictive game

It was a 100% authentic cart of Generation V Pokemon Game Black. This is identifiable by the specific plastics used on genuine carts, and the way they react to direct light. Pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price for the game. Shipped quick with no hassle.

One of my favorite Pokmon Games
26 October 2020

This is a personal favorite of mine in the Pokmon series. Alola is such a refreshingly uniquely designed region with its Polynesian aesthetic. The story is one of the better ones in my opinion, with the character Lily slowly gaining confidence and resolve to stand up against her domineering mother. If youve played Pokmon before you generally know what to expect. Ultra Sun/ Ultra Moon have more content and legendaries available, as well as very easy shiny hunting via the wormholes, but this game probably overall has a better plot and is very worth the lower price tag, especially if youre just looking for extra cartridges.

I played pokemon since red and on a gameboy. So I truly believe that the graphics on my current 3DS XL are excellent.I am also aware this game is for folk a lot younger than myself! I was a tad annoyed at 'Princess'. I found her very simple and weak .. not how I would like young girls of today to see themselves. I would prefer to have helped her if she had not been such wimp.I may be older in years now, but I have a young heart! My son, who is now 17, agreed with me that she was probably the most annoying person on the face of Pokemon. Saying that, this is my own person opinion that I share with you and would not put 'out' in the world wide web. My comments would be to sing praises only as I really enjoyed playing it and look forward to doing it all over again with ... MoreI played pokemon since red and on a gameboy. Keep it up for another decade.[I would however comment on my DSI ... I am not very happy that the little round button on my previous one has broken. this is not very satisfactory and should be rectified going by the number of youtube videos out there regarding the same issue]
