Pokemon TCG - Battle Academy Board Game (Series 2)

This is a great quality product. I bought it as soon as it came out and did an unboxing on Reddit. I have the Let’s Play Decks which are great in there own way, and this board game type interpretation of the TCG is great for beginners and competitive players. The main purpose is to teach beginners and I tried it out and it works well, easy basic cards and the books are great. And if someone who is competitive just wants a chill game I’d pick it up because you can also use it to teach friends and family as well as a change of play style. Overall it’s a great product. The only “issue” I had is that the Mewtwo deck says advanced which it really isn’t and they only have those three to play with. It would’ve been nice to include 4 so there can be multiple different matches but overall I think it’s a very solid investment for any Pokémon or card fan to puck up (:

A structure deck is typically made up of 12 ish energy cards, 30ish trainer cards and several types of pokemon cards, that will be full evolution with doubles. You can have upto 4 of the same card in a deck which is how a pokemon deck is built in general. Each deck is built simply to make learning the game easy and fun for new and young players. It is a great set for beginners in pokemon tcg.

Bought this for my 7 year old. It come with 3 box’s of cards… we had over 30 trainee cards in each box (I get that it is a battle game so I expected a few) BUT we only had about 6 Pokémon cards in each box, almost all of them had multiple doubles, one being 5 of the same basic Pokémon, so very disappointed…Board is good however, good quality and all presented lovely. my son loves that we have a set up to play, but cards are rather disappointing.
