Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2016 Champagne / Gift Box

Pol Roger Brut Vintage is produced only in limited quantities. The 2016 vintage has been aged for 7 years in the Pol Roger cellars before being disgorged and released. The fine and persistent bubbles for which Pol Roger is renowned is to a large extent contributed to by these deep, cool and damp cellars. The first first fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Each grape variety and each village are kept in separate tanks until final blending. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation. The secondary fermentation takes place in bottle at 9°C, in the deep Pol Roger cellars (33 metres below ground level). The wine is kept there until it undergoes remuage (riddling) by hand, which these days is rare in Champagne. Aroma : Opening with bright, elegant and charming notes that are distinctively Vintage Pol Roger in style. Alluring aromas of lemon peel, tarte au citron and freshly baked madeleines are present. Allowing time in the glass, more savoury earth aromas such as roasted hazelnuts and marmalade are revealed, further showcasing the many layers of complexity. Palate : A firm backbone of acidity, balanced with the characteristically rich, broad Pinot Noir for which Pol Roger is known. A wine to be enjoyed now. Allow further bottle ageing and enjoy further complexity over the next decade or more. The bottle comes presented in a black and gold Pol Roger Vintage branded gift box.
