Polaroid Now 2nd Generation I-Type Instant Film Camera - Purple (9149)

Wow. I have always wanted a Polaroid camera after being able to use other people’s over the years. It’s that classic camera with the classic instant photographs that everyone immediately recognises. I have many of these Polaroid shots on books and inside frames and memory boxes. The Polaroid now in black and white is a classic camera, which provides the usual flash and a battery indicator along with film count on the device. They are the perfect balance of retro and modern and something that just doesn’t age. My only gripe, the film is so expensive at £15-£18 for a pack of eight. For something that you want to use quite regularly, it’s a lot of money to pay for the film.

Couldn't wait to try this Polaroid camera for those nostalgia-reminiscent quick captures that can be handed off after mere moments. I can say with honesty that I expected the picture quality to have evolved a little bit more. Though I feel as if digital and filters may have my expectations skewed. I took a few photos that remained dark regardless of lighting (inside with or without lighting, outside in daylight or at night). Some with the flash on, some with the flash off. The photos were immediately placed picture image side down to await development. No shaking here. I'm not sure if I got a batch of bad films or dark photos that may or may not develop into something recognizable is the norm, but I will continue to try. I do, however, love the camera itself! The Polaroid Now camera is very nostalgic. Snap a picture and it prints out in out immediately. The pictures that print when looking at them feel like you’ve kind of gone back to an older era before all these high tech cameras, which is pretty cool. The pictures they print out are 9cm x 11cm. Build quality feels very durable and it comes with a charger so no need for batteries. The only flaws I would give it is sometimes you take pictures and they will come out extremely dark and shady or will make you dark and light up the background, and you can’t just Warsaw it and get another one once one is done, it’s done. This mode lets you be more creative by combining different subjects, backgrounds, and patterns for interesting and unique outcomes * The built-in flash is super bright but still requires the photographer to be relatively close to the subject in order to be effective. The minimum focal distance for the lens is at least 1.8 ft and anything closer than that will likely appear out of focus. * While the camera is advertised as a point-and-shoot instant camera, there is a bit of a learning curve, and I found that it takes a little bit of practice and trial and error to produce good prints. However, the cost per print of the film can make this an expensive lesson. You also need to wait at least 10-15 minutes after taking the photo and keep it facedown or in a dark place as it develops. * I found that outdoors in bright lighting produces the photos with the best contrast, though can still look a little washed out. In medium to low lighting the photos tend to appear dark if your flash isn't close enough to your subject. Most of the ones that l've taken with the first film pack have a slightly green cast to them and occasionally have chemical bleed crackles or dark grayish streaks appear along the edges of the photo frame. If you're looking for consistent crisp, sharp, digital precision, this is not the camera for you. The vintage look and feel of these photos will definitely be the selling point for creators, artists, and enthusiasts.

I received this camera for free and I am very grateful. Very high quality Polaroid. Everything is very easy and convenient. The photos turn out to be of very high quality. The packaging was at the best level, everything was well sealed. The kit also includes a charger, 2 sets with film and a small photo album. A full charge of the battery is enough for a very long period, we will definitely take it with us on trips to save the best and pleasant memories in such original photos. Good quality Polaroid now gen 2 instant camera made with good quality hardened plastic.The white and red colours helps to add to the retro look and feel of the camera lust like the original back in the day. This is a great camera but this is probably more for people that want to relive the good old days of photography or want to experience using a film camera to a certain point. If you are coming from using digital cameras/mobile phones you will need to rethink how you normally take pictures or this will become very expensive BUT when you think of all the accessories, extras, gadgets etc you buy for your digital camera it probably all evens out in cost eventually. Overall I am very happy with this camera and the images and would definitely recommend it.

First things first, I do like that the packaging had limited plastic, that was cool. What was very uncool was the box says it comes with a USB cord, but the cord is USB-C on both ends. If I hadn’t already had an adapter, I wouldn’t have been able to charge it. Old Polaroid’s were powered by a battery inside the film cartridge, so you didn’t need to charge them at all (this is also why film for these cameras won’t work with old ones). Also, the instructions that came with it didn’t say how to use the double exposure feature, I had to look that up myself as well. The double exposure pics are cool, tho! One of my pics did have a bit in the corner that didn’t develop, but that happens with instant pics sometimes. Neat camera, subpar film.

Love the camera, but the film lets it down, HARD.Wildly inconsistent results that have nearly totally ruined photos of special moments. Given the price of the film it's quite upsetting.Longtime supporter of the Polaroid film reboot since the beginning of the impossible project, yet I have now switched to the Fuji Instax Wide format. FAR better results from the Fujifilm, extremely consistent, and for a much lower price per shot, while still having nice colors.Sorry to go Polaroid, but I just cant keep spending money on defective film anymore.

I recently picked up this Polaroid camera from Best Buy, and it's been a blast! The mix of old-school charm with modern features makes it a real winner.The vintage design is super cool and sturdy. It's easy to use, whether you're new to instant cameras or a pro. The picture quality is surprisingly good, with bright colors and clear details. Watching the photos develop right in front of you is always a fun experience.All in all, this Polaroid camera has been a great buy. It’s perfect for capturing those special moments and making them last. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves a bit of nostalgia with their photography!
