This cooking thermometer inside a removable spatula is an ingenious idea and does the job. I am happy with the purchase. Be aware that when using it as a spatula, the fact that it is two mostly plastic components means that it is not as strong as a hefty wood spatula for mixing things that are extra heavy.

This gadget is a great addition to any kitchen. Love having a thermometer and spatula in one. Also like that it has a programmable "alarm." (I do wish that it had more than one programmable timer - especially for those recipes that require you to add something at x temperature, but need to continue cooking to y temperature.) A note to the infrequent baker/cook - the temperature element is not in the spatula, so if the amount of candy (or whatever) you're making isn't deep enough to reach the metal thermometer element, you won't get an accurate temperature reading.

This unit easily comes apart so you may use the thermometer in meat as well as liquids. Very useful. Just make sure you don't put it through the dishwasher.
Upon my first and only use, I found that the spatula slipped off continuously and that the thermometer didn't give an accurate reading with the spatula on. So, to get an accurate reading, you have to remove the spatula and hold the thermometer; you can't rest it on the pot.
This is a great concept..other than the fact that you can't use it. I was trying to make jelly without pectin and I needed a thermometer for it. The spatula part kept falling off . When I called the company, they told me that you are supposed to hold on to the silicone part...well, if you are working with hot sugar, juice, etc that needs to be well over 200 degrees, you don't want your fingers an inch above the liquid. Boiling sugar will do some damage.If you could keep your hand on the actual handle, it might be nice. Save your money and get a clip on candy thermometer and separate meat thermometer. It will save you a trip to the ER.
Excellent product. Just used it for making yogurt and testing a roast to see if it was done in the same evening! I really like how it takes one AAA battery and not one of those hard to find disc batteries.
I purchased this and it is so easy to operate and makes making candy a breeze. Also cleans up nicely.
The thermometer was off by a couple degrees and it beeps a lot if it’s not at the temperature that is set.
got this as a shower gift andddd it’s broken. literally the screen is blacked out, as if it were cracked on the inside. this would make sense however the box/packaging that it came in had no damage whatsoever. so disappointed
