A great upgrade from my older ELACs

I needed to buy a slimmer center channel speaker after buying a new entertainment center, so I got the Polk Signature Elite ES35 Slim Center Channel Speaker. Then I decided to go all-in and upgrade the rest of my old ELACs to Polk Signature speakers and I am glad I did. The sound difference is noticeable and much better in my opinion. I love the look of the curved walnut cabinets, too. There is also more bass in each of these speakers than my old ELAC towers. Five stars all the way. (I also got the Polk Signature Elite ES15 Bookshelf Speaker for my surrounds and those were great, too!)

Elegantly designed, impressive sound!

I just purchased these with the ES35 Center channel to replace my Jensen bookshelf speakers (nearly 20 years old). Firstly these compact looking speakers just look fabulous and sleek (one of the positives, as the better half does not like big hulking black oblongs!). Sonically these are light years away from my old units, they deliver authoritative, balanced sound stage with punchy weight for mids and crystal clear dialogue. I would recommend having a subwoofer to get that extra low down oomph, but these generate very good bass. A sound choice for the money!

Good speaker for entry-level tower, but overpriced

I had the previous S50, and then tried a stylistic change (colour only) to the ES50. Mistake. They sounded exactly the same as the previous model. (good, but not meant for a large room). But ended up costing me $1100/pr.Whoops.So I found a pair of the S55 from a private seller (one model higher than the S50) for $400/pr. Wow. Yippee! But this review isn’t about the older S55.Compared to the previous RTiA5 (I think this is the closest model for comparison) you don’t get more if you’re paying more. Stylistically, the ES50 kill the RTiA5 with beautiful curves and warm colours, and they do sound good, but not worth the investment at MSRP or slightly lower.My room is 12’w x 16’L x11.5’h. If you’ve dialled in a sweet-spot, sure they sound good enough (with the help of a 12”, 500watt powered sub), but as soon as you leave that spot, they fade away and you quickly realize these aren’t enough for a room that size. (My previous setup included RTiA9, and that was sufficient).Bottom line, depending on the size of room, you’re better off getting the ES55, and invest a little bit more, it’s worth it.

Great value

My Signature Elite ES50 speakers sound awesome. I have them hooked up to a 70W receiver which is plenty of juice for these speakers. The bass is just enough for me. The speakers look great in my room. I think these speakers are excellent value for the money. In my opinion you could pay much more and get negligible improvement.

Works alright cheap plastic main thing when u shake it up cant read it full of bubbles very hard to read would find maybe alittle more pricey one for quality

My 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos Family Room

Beautiful esthetics. clean, crisp warm sound... I'm no audiophile by any means, but I've been a DJ and music lover for decades - I know what I like when it comes to sound. First challenge was my space. I live in a townhome and have multipurpose spaces. Our home theatre was not going to be in a dedicated space, but rather in our family/living room. The main floor is open concept so the kitchen and dining rooms are all the same space. I had very precise measurements to bring this to life. The speakers needed to 'disappear with the decore' as best as possible. And I didn't need the sound to be at extremes knowing I'll be rattling my neighbours. A little rattle is a good thing 😉. Lastly, this was for music and movies - was I asking for too much with a conservative/reasonable budget? Nope! I pieced this all across a couple of months, checking for sales on Polk and local big box stores. I wanted the Signature Elites in white - no compromise. Patience prevailed and there is not a moment this sound system isn't working for pleasure every evening. I ended up going with the ES50's as LR, ES35 for C and ES15's for rear surrounds flanking the couch. Atmos was tricky, I'm used to in-ceiling in our previous home, but the build of this new house will require major work to create a clean look. So I decided to give the XT90's a try... Not bad at all, I did need to bump them a couple of decibels higher than my surrounds to make the upward firing experience work well. I really do wish Polk made elevations to match the Signature Elite's design. But the XT's just fit perfectly on top of the ES50 and ES15s. Long story short - I'm happy, really happy. The family loves it! The sound is what I needed. There is more than enough power available to me - driving with my Onkyo. It's level yet warm. I do not experience any fatigue, regardless of long music listening sessions or binge watching John Wick - You will not be disappointed.
