I'm extremely happy with my Focus 2. As someone with a history of multiple concussions, the headband style makes this an ideal fit to a sensitive head. The weight and pressure are mild and it does not cause headaches for me like most headsets I've had to wear. I can wear this for hours working from home without any pain, and that is an incredible relief. The sound is fantastic, I'm able to hear every voice clearly on conference calls as well as music and video with the kind of sound you'd expect at this price. This isn't an audiophile's dream by any means, but that isn't what it is built to be. As a wireless communication focused headset, it exceeds my expectations on sound. But I may have buried the lead here. The mic is incredible. I have a very noisy home ... MoreI'm extremely happy with my Focus 2. As someone with a history of multiple concussions, the headband style makes this an ideal fit to a sensitive head. As a wireless communication focused headset, it exceeds my expectations on sound. But I may have buried the lead here. The mic is incredible. I have a very noisy home office with a heavy handed clicky keyboard partner. You can't hear them type when I'm on a call. I don't know what else to say. I've had mic after mic after mic that promised to remove sounds like a keyboard and none of them have even muted the pounding clicks at all, even from across the room. The Focus 2 on Teams and Zoom eliminates the sound entirely. My keyboard isn't exactly quiet either, and you can't hear it either. Also two puppies who can get really loud really quickly can't be heard either. Oh and people can hear me crystal clear. The overall mic experience is without peer. The included USB dongle allows me to go through my entire house, even taking the puppies out to the back porch (our office is in the front of the house). It allows for tremendous freedom.Overall, this is by far the best headset I've ever used in an office environment. The isolation and sound quality on the mic, the sound quality of the incoming sound and the fantastic comfort on my head make this mic (shockingly considering what I paid for it) worth every penny.

The processing onboard blocks all those other office noises and conversations. I've only tested with MS Teams and Zoom, but it should work just as well with any other service. There is a very useful audible "microphone muted" and "unmuted" alert when you either fold the mic up to the top, or push the mute button as well, so you know when you're muted and don't need to click any other buttons. Extremely useful feature. The headset seems to hold charge very well, I've used it 4-5 hours a day for a few days now and only needed to charge once. You can connect to USB to charge while using it, so you can keep working. You also don't need any software or other programs installed to make everything work, which makes my local IT team happy. The USB drivers for the BT adapter are very non-intrusive.The only downsides are the control switches are extremely small. It's difficult to see which one is which (power, ANC, etc), but once you figure it out, it's not too bad.

Definitely fatiguing for long days. The unforgivable.1) it will swipe any bluetooth device it's paired with, every time, EVEN WHEN IT'S IN THE CHARGING STAND. Just curious, does anyone out there talk on their headset while it's charging? This is truly idiotic. Though my 7 year old Jabra did the same thing, so why am I surprised? B/c it's 7 years later, and this thing cost over $300. The only option is to toggle bluetooth off on the headset. Who wants to do that? Why should you have to? Especially with how dodgy re-establishing bluetooth signal can be. Plus you've got to remember to toggle it back on, EVERY TIME. Shameful.2) Regulaly this thing will initiate a ring tone in the ear-pieces when you are NOT dialing out. It happens after disconnecting a call, and it happens both with my VoIP soft phone (RingCentral for Chrome) and for calls initiated with my iPhone 12 ProMax. Which means it's a problem with the headset, and not my system. Also, absolutely ridiculous. It all point to, I think I may have to be done with professional headsets and just do high grade ear buds full time. Of course then I can't connect to my desk phone. Why is this so complicated?
I should begin by mentioning that I'm coming off of a few years of using the original Voyager Focus UC, which always has been and still is a world class headset. Therefore, I had very high hopes for the updated 2nd generation. And in most respects, it did not disappoint. Here's the breakdown:- Fit: The earcups are slightly smaller in diameter with a bit more padding, making them more comfortable while still covering the ear. It weighs just a bit more than the 1st gen unit, but not by much. And the weight feels like just enough to be substantial without being bulky.- Appearance: The updated styling is definitely cleaner and more modern looking. I like the way the comfort headband extends all the way to the molded plastic trim on either side (the 1st gen had a portion of the red wire exposed). I also like that the steel band covers the full exterior from earcup to earcup. Additionally, the new boom arm looks a lot more high tech.- Controls: The power switch is familiar and easy to find, also doubling to activate pairing mode. The new location for the ANC switch is actually an improvement in my opinion. However, the playback, call, and volume controls feel like a step backwards. I prefer to have the playback and call controls on opposite sides, instead of all being combined into a panel on the microphone side. I can deal with the volume buttons being on that panel, but I definitely liked the "rocker ring" on the 1st gen better.- Setup: Just as one would expect from Poly, setup is a snap. The headset immediately recognizes the included Bluetooth dongle immediately. It's also very easy to enter pairing mode and connect to nearly any device. Likewise, the Poly Lens app for desktop and/or Plantronics Hub mobile app make settings changes and software updates super simple.- Battery life: The 1st gen had a great battery that would easily plow through even the longest of marathon meeting workdays without breaking a sweat, even when you're using ANC. The Focus 2 battery lasts even longer. While this may not seem necessary, it is nice to know that you can get a couple days of work out of this headset or travel with it for a long weekend without having to worry about finding a charger. If you're at home with a charging base, this becomes a moot point. And you always have the option to plug in the included cable and use it as a wired headset with no battery drain.- Noise cancelling: The 1st gen was great, but the Voyager Focus 2 is significantly improved in this regard. If I set the ANC to high, I can take calls or conduct meetings while my Roomba is running at my feet or while sitting in the stands of a high school pool area without it bothering anybody on the other end of the call. Likewise, I can hear them loud and clear without any significant noise intrusion. When I'm at home, I normally have music playing in the background and setting the ANC to low is enough to keep that from interfering with communication.- Sound quality: This is another area where Poly made improvements. The 1st gen was great, but the Focus 2 is definitely better. This true for both call audio and streaming media. It performs like a really nice set of Bluetooth stereo headphones.- Range: The range on this unit is fantastic and is a major improvement over the 1st gen, which was no slouch. I can move freely throughout most of my home without fear of dropping the connection and have even gone out to get the mail from across the street without it missing a beat.- Charging: If you're using the optional desktop stand, charging is a no-brainer and the stand can be had with either USB-A or USB-C connectivity. However, when you need to travel with your headset and are using a cable, you nice right away that the Focus 2 still uses a USB-micro connector, which is completely out of place in 2022. A USB-C connector would eliminate the need to carry a separate, dedicated charge cable. Thankfully, the included carrying case has a nice little pocket for the included charging cable.Overall, I love this headset and it is my new primary mode of communication. You hear what you want without outside intrusion and the same is true for your audience. Streaming media content is fantastic and this is an easy headset to wear all day without any comfort issues. I'm even considering the Voyager Office Base, which significantly boosts the range while also serving as the charge stand.

I was also able to multitask around the house during audio calls, without any indication that I wasn't sitting at a desk.I typically prefer over-ear headsets, but the weight and comfortably of the Voyager Focus 2 make up for the slightly naked ear. I was able to wear this headset for 6+ hours without feeling uncomfortable in the slightest.I'd absolutely recommend this headset to anyone looking for an easy to use, lightweight, comfortable, and lasting headset.
I bought office teams poly focus 2. Everything is 5 stars but when I am using desk phone. It creates a distorted echo that is magnified when talking while incoming sound is happening. It is like vertigo and makes the headset unusable for my call center job. In addition when I hear the distorted voice echo in testing it slows fades to the background , totally a algorithm type glitch. I have demonstrated with AirPods to tech support. I have trouble shooted this with level 2 , and this is not because of setup, or the a-g switch or levels so please don’t post the question have I tried to trouble shoot, as your upper level tech agreed there is a hardware or firmware problem. They recommended returning and buying another one and that’s what I did. Same problem on both. I could be technician at poly with my skill level. Also the side tone doesn’t seem to work well but it’s hard to tell because of the other issue and trying to stop that echo. I have used for two months and will return my 2nd one because I can’t hope for a update. Now the good, great sound , noise cancel rocks this world , it is crazy comfortable , battery life is the best, although the instructions are vague once you figure out how to toggle between teams and the desk phone it works great. Is this supposed to be targeted for professionals , is anyone testing the desk phone? Used on Avaya 9811G. This kind of problem didn’t exist under the plantronics name, let’s get this fixed.
I love my original focus UC, mostly because it gave me the ability to take my calls/teams/zoom meetings from anywhere without people knowing or hearing where I was at. I could be on a beach, walking the dog, in the office, at the home office, or in the kitchen; it didn't matter. I could hear them perfectly and they could hear me. The issue was that the battery life of the Focus UC was no longer holding up to the 8hrs + of talking and would cut off before the end of the day.So I purchased the Focus 2 after a lot of research including competitors. The price point and the good reviews swayed my decision. Initial impressions : mic is just as good. My voice does sound a little bit different but that is ok. The ANC is slightly better but no significant. The price point and the good reviews swayed my decision. Initial impressions : mic is just as good. My voice does sound a little bit different but that is ok. The ANC is slightly better but no significant. In fact, I thought that the original Focus might have been better but after side by side compares the Focus 2 does seem to drown out more of the really lows and really highs... I appears to let in more mid frequencies even on high... maybe by intent. But overall, ANC is not why I bought the Focus 2.Otherwise, everything is as expected. The only down side is the controls. The focus UC had separate media controls (play/pause, forward and back) which was separate from the call/answer button. The Focus 2 removes the forward and back and requires double tapping the call/answer button. This is the same action for calling siri so it feels unnatural for me to have the same action for different functions. I haven't used it and still don't know how to go backwards yet. There is not manual and haven't found online documents yet just the getting started video which didn't go into backwards.Headset comfort, design : Great... a bit cleaner than the old Focus. My wife still thinks I look stupid.Call quality : excellent.Last Note : I did finally change (hack) the battery on the old Focus UC. The cost was super cheap compared to getting the new headset and the process did require some soldering. But otherwise it was relatively easy. So now I have 2 awesome headsets and only one set of ears. I have both on my desk... and flip between them depending on how I feel. Why... not quite sure mostly because with the new battery, my old headset has a new lease on life.I'd love to see how the Voyager Free's microphones compare to the Boom Mics on the Poly Focus 2... to see if I could go to buds (and look less stupid to my wife) but still have quality calls. Recommended using dongle when connecting to a PC which provides higher isolation and avoid interference.Nicely made Poly Voyager Focus 2 headset, build feels strong and sturdy and it does not have that red band plastics some wireless headsets have.Boom microphone can be swing either side.Voyager Focus 2 tested using both Bluetooth connection and paired with dongle USB-A adapter supplied with the kitDriver Installation: Took about 30 seconds to self-install the USB driver after connecting to the laptop, once succeeded notified with an audio alert on the headsetOperational Process: Seamless integration with drivers and application facilitates quick connection, if its pre-installed its much fasterZoom application & MS teams application quickly picked up the device without any further customization or setup changesPerformance: Best thing ever is highest comfort level when worn, these are on-ear headphones with gently pressing the ears which helps noise isolation and easy to wear all day.Found that dongle based connection is much stable without any lags or stuttering of audio compared to that of Bluetooth connection. This may be the fact of environment where channel collision might have occurred in the room where it was tested.Sound output is par at excellence, would say close to 3D nature. So its well optimized for both business meetings and personal usage to listen music at leisure.ANC at highest level is best of its performance but still there is room for improvement.Turning on ANC reduces the battery life 10 – 15% observed.Features like “Acoustic Fence” , sensors to auto answer, noise cancelling boom which you can twist up out of the way when not in use and as well rotate up also mutes .These functions really helps to run the business meetings very smoother!Overall Poly Voyager Focus 2 much improved version on the features along with redesigned mic, acoustic fence feature and ANC functions! Good for an all day headset to run the business on the go!
I bought this about 2-3 months ago after my previous v1 Plantronics Focus physically broke (after 4-5+ years of use). The build quality of the usb dongle, and the headset and electronics was great. But this v2 version has had so many corners cut. the headset constantly disconnects from the BT700 dongle during meetings, will not initialize when joining meetings (even though it appears to work). That I literally have to unplug the dongle, and turn the headset off and on 2-3 times a day, even during meetings, to get it back to working. I've updated firmware and it hasn't helped the issues much. I was so sold on the original Voyager Focus due its stability and functionality, but the new version is a poor substitute. I regret buying this expensive piece of junk.
