Okay, I have used Bessey Clamps for years and years and have enjoyed using them. I ordered a few of these and was beyond impressed. With the Bessey clamps that are the same style/type, the slick wood handles prevent me from taking advantage of the strength the clamps have to offer. Not so with the Jorgenson's! I just ordered and unboxed 16 of these bad boys recently. Thank you Pony Jorgenson, for making a superior product that makes torquing the clamps so much easier on this old guy's wrists and hands. I'll never look back!

This is my most-used clamp. It is great for holding wood in place during glue-ups where light clamping is the goal because the rubber pads obviate the need for blocks to prevent denting. Only if I need a strong clamp to bring parts into alignment or close a gap I will take the time to set up a stronger clamp with pads. These clamps naturally prevent over-clamping and excessive squeeze-out.It is also a great clamp for holding work in position while drilling and screwing. It is light to carry and set in place, especially overhead. The 3' size is a great one to stock in quantity.

I purchased these primarily to use in clamping cutting and charcuterie boards. . There is no way that I even applied a 100# of clamping pressure. See the pic of the bar flex. I am supposing that the bowing causes the pressure to be other than perpendicular to the board. The steel bars (?) have way too much flex. I have better control with my conventional Pony pipe clamps. I selected these because of the cost. About $270 for 8 Pony clamps and pipes. I just clamped up two boards. I hate returning stuff.

I have several different bar clamps from different manufacturers. All are acceptable but I can definitely see and feel the difference in quality between the others and Jorgensen. The Jorgensen is a more solid clamp. I find the Jorgensen has a slightly larger handle to easier tighten the clamp down. The Jorgensen is a little more expensive than some of my other brand clamps but I think it's worth the little extra cost. When having to grab multiple brand clamps for a project I always start with the Jorgensen. It's my favorite clamp.

I find the 6" size to be the most useful and use them for almost everything I build. I have tried a number of other types and brands over the years but always go back to the Ponys. Other products are too heavy, too big to fit where you need the pressure, and often are too clumsy to adjust. When building furniture I use Pony pipe clamps for large pieces. I have several dozen ranging from 30" to 6ft long. I also have Pony pads and wooden pads I have made to help soften pressure damaging the wood.They clearly allow for more presuure on seams but when possible I revert to the bar clamps often because of their flexibility.. I still have wood screw handle F style clamps from Jorgensen I bought 7 years ago and these are just as good if not even better because of the screw handle being more comfortable. Between the F style clamps and quick grip style clamps I own that are Jorgensen I've always been nothing other than satisfied. I'm adding more to my inventory of clamps (woodworkers can never have enough clamps) and I'd be foolish not too. The quality is above the price point and there's no dealing with slippage and clamps releasing pressure on a glue up like the blue brand does after having them for so long.

The rubber boot over the end of the screw that keeps you from crushing or denting the grain slides when you tighten the clamp down. The screw will actually slide out of the very malleable boot, leading to several undesirable issues. The screw comes in contact with bare wood, defeating the purpose of the boot. The boot falls loose when the screw slides out, potentially ruining a finish or paint job that hasn’t set (this put me in a great mood). This doesn’t always ... I've been a Jorgensen steel bar clamp owner for nearly 20 years and never once been disappointed by their performance. I have 6, 12 and 18 inch light and medium duty clamps. You can never have too many clamps, so I gladly have 40 in my possession. And yes, there are projects in which I use all of them at the same time! It's amazing how much pressure you can get from a simple handle being twisted. They work great under all the pressure you will need for nearly all your clamping needs. My older clamps did not come with the cushioned rubber ends. They were a great improvement to an otherwise wonderful product. I don't think you'll ever be disappointed with using them.
I have been a wood worker my whole life. I never had a problem with the smooth round wooden grips on other brands of clamps. I am now in my 60s and have now lost the strength im my hads that I always had as a younger man. The new grips on your clamps now lets me clamp pieces down or together as I did before. I have given my round handle clamps to my sons and have purchased your clamps. It is so much easier. I don"t know if that was your intention but thank you very much.
