The polyethylene material which does not allow water to pass through is constructed with a 8x8 scrim threads per square inch. Covers with a higher scrim will have a better overall quality strength and durability. The material weighs 2.36 ounces per square yard which is important because heavier covers will be affected less by extreme elements. The topside of this cover has been treated to inhibit UV rays and the bottom of the cover is black to help prevent algae growth. This cover has an additional five foot overlap to ensure space for water bags on the deck and slack in the cover. Two lines of double chain stitching secure the self-edged binding as well as water bag loops which are placed every four feet around the perimeter of the cover.
