I'm a huge fan of Portal 2 (and its predecessor Portal). It's not just a puzzle game: there's a good history, well developed characters, plenty of humour, a generous sprinkle of Easter eggs, and the graphic is nice. Even the OST is pretty memorable, especially the endings. What's more, there is a massive amount of lore involved. There are books, comics, songs, and cake recipes (yes, you read it correctly). Oh, and it's suitable for younger kids as there is no violence of any kind (ok, the turrets WILL shoot at you. And you'll have to avoid lasers, rockets, and vitriolic sarcasm. And there's a murderous AI that wants to kill you with deadly neurotoxin. But that aside, it's perfectly safe 😇). So do yourself a favour and play this game. For Science.

About two years ago, I heard about the Portal game series from a friend so I purchased Portal: Still Alive. I enjoyed the game a lot and played it over and over. I was excited when I recently discovered that there was a Portal 2. The first difference between the two games I noticed was the graphics. They were incredible! Normally an Xbox 360 game has poor graphics but this was different. It also had an insanely well planed story even compared to the first Portal. All around, the game is a work of art and will be enjoyed by anyone fortunate enough to play this game. Oh, and to anyone who reads this and is wondering, the game can be played on Xbox One.

First let me just say i have an INCREDABLE bias towards this game so just keep that in mind as we go forward. I know that i bought this 2 console cycles after its original release window but in my option it has aged like a fine wine, it only got better over time. The only thing you cant experience on this version of the game is the online and that's not even the games fault, its the fault of Xbox for making Xbox live a thing. But if you buy the game on PC the only thing stopping you there is how good your internet connection is. But even without that the game is stunning ,The puzzles are brain bending the characters are lovable and the lore that is given to you every so often is some really great stuff. Since this is on an older console you must be on a lookout for a 360 controllers with both triggers working to play this game, but if you already have anything its a wonderful purchase. I would in all honesty recommend it on PC because that is a more comfortable way to play in my option and you get access to a full and thriving online community to this day. But if for whatever reason the PC version is univalve then I 100% recommend the console port.(also if I'm not mistaken this is forward combatable with the last gen and this gen Xbox)I would tell you which one it is and isn't working with but the names of the Xboxes have gotten so confusing that I don't know which is which any more. But rest assured if you want an engaging puzzle game that will challenge you to think outside of the box with an engaging story and funny characters to boot this is your game.

Seriously, games like this only come around once in a decade. Hell maybe in multiple decades. I can't think of a game that so many different people with differentiated likes would enjoy said game. I sincerely believe almost anyone would enjoy playing this, or at least watching you play and just experiencing the humor and genius that went into this game. My mom isn't a gamer, so she didn't play this. But she was watching while I did, and she LOVED it. Probably one of the very few games I've had that she utterly enjoyed completely. I've also shown this to my girlfriend, which she couldn't get enough of, and a couple friends. I would recommend this to anyone who loves puzzles, but not too too complicated of such, massively creative humor and beautiful graphics. Superb. Hilarious throughout, mentally challenging and difficult to stop playing. I played chapter by chapter. Had to use walkthrough occasionally because why would you think to do that. Credit to the people who worked it out so that the walkthroughs could be made. Fully recommend Portal 2.
Portal is an exceptional game. However, that little game was only a little experiment done by valve. Now, the sequel its the full experience. It has a complete story with funny characters and villians, and besides the typical portal gun challenges, there’s also areas with paint from different colors that alter the way you interact wit gravity. For example, orange paint gives you a lot of momentum, which helps you slide around, while blue paint lets you bounce on the ground. This is an amazing game, up there with the best of this generation.
One of the best PC games of all time. Played it years ago and decided to play both Portal games again. Requires problem solving skills and good eye-hand coordination. If you're weak on these, you'll be much improved after completing this game! For the best experience, I suggest playing the original game first as this one takes off where the other ended. However, that is not a requirement to enjoy this game on its own. Great humor throughout the adventure as you come face-to-face again with GlaDOS, who really "is alive!" again, and her sarcasm and hostility towards you. . Plus, you get to meet the inventor/owner of Aperture Science and the test chambers, Cave Johnson, who is full of wacky commentary as you progress through the latter part of the game dealing with his ... MoreOne of the best PC games of all time. A great and memorable experience that you'll really enjoy.
Arguably my favorite video game of all time, Portal 2 offers a hilarious, witty, and oddly poignant single-player campaign. An incredibly balanced experience that is both challenging and rewarding, especially in the cooperative campaign. Great attention to detail, great characters, and great music. As someone who doesn't normally play puzzle games, all the other elements of Portal are enough to draw in any kind of gamer.
Fantastic game. Takes everything great from the original Portal game from 2007, expands it, and makes it better. More characters, expanded (and interesting) story. more challenges, more game mechanics, and just a much longer game in terms of play time overall. It will help with perspective of the story and understanding the game mechanics, but you don't need to know anything about the first game (or have played it), to enjoy this, by the way. The game superficially looks like a first person shooter game, but its actually a physics-based puzzle game with a unique in game mechanic. Although there are a few points where having some skill with a controller is necessary, there aren't many, and the game is much more conceptual/cerebral than "reflex based". Also game is effectively rated "G". No gore, graphic violence, sexual content, etc. Small kids won't be able to play it (puzzles too hard for them) but they might enjoy watching it. Has a two player co-operative mode that in and of itself is a pretty great game too. Unfortunately, puzzle-based nature of the game means that replay value isn't high, but this is seriously one of the best games out there for PS3, one that adults and kids can enjoy. Game itself won at least half a dozen awards and other industry honors. If you're thinking about this. . .just buy it.
Portal 2 builds on the ingenious concept gleaned from the original Portal game that came with Valve's Orange Box. Although the game-play is very linear, it is all so well designed, the tests so satisfying to complete and the humour so laugh out loud funny that the overall experience of playing the game is thoroughly enjoyable. Admittedly, the single-player game may not take that long to complete (you could theoretically finish the entire game in 3 hours) but the test building capabilities of the game mean that it is very easy to create your own test chambers and it also means that there is plenty of content online with Community Test Chambers galore to keep you occupied after you have completed the single-player version. The great characters are brought to life by a comedic script and top notch voice actors. All the puzzles are extremely well designed. But the reason why this game works so well is the brilliantly simple concept behind it which is superbly and cleverly implemented within an engrossing storyline. Valve have done a superb job here and Portal 2 deserves it's reputation as one of the all time greats.
Portal 2 on PlayStation 3 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following. The single-player portion of Portal 2 for PS3 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game. PS3 Portal 2's two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.
