I’ve used these markers a few times on designs and signs that I have created on wood panels, Mainly for outlining and small text or graphics when a brush isn’t practical. They do the job but have a few quirks one needs to watch out for. Occasionally they will drop a blob of paint and flow quickly, sometimes they will “flick” a fine spray when drawing and they are not the best for a second coat as the marker occasionally will remove paint from the previous coat and then cake and leave dry pieces. It’s best if you can use it for just one coat. I have used polycyclic spray over finished pieces with no issues.

I never thought it would be such a good marker. I was looking for a marker to write on black business cards and was actually looking for a different brand. One of the associates at Michael’s was very helpful and guided me and showed me these new markers; I said “ok I will give it a try”. I bought two thinking I will try one and if it doesn’t deliver, then I will return the other one unopened. Well, far beyond my expectations! I loved it ! We are using both and planning to buy some more for the rest of the office and other projects I have in mind.Thank you Michael’s!!! You guys rock!

Love the extra-fine point for mark-making on acrylic paintings. My only complaint is that the amount of paint inside the pen just doesn’t last that long. I’ve started re-filling my empty Posca pens with either acrylic pouring paint or acrylic paint with pouring medium, since I like the tip on this pen.

They are great for finer lined projects, and adding dimension. However, you have to keep a little pressure on them / shake as they have a tendency to dry at the tip and spray a little. It’s usually manageable but something to be aware. The Mr series maybe a better fit if you’re not work on surfaces you can easily re-touch or if you’re more particular. This particular takes more go-overs to be noticeable.
These pens are great for fine details and line work on miniatures. The acrylic flows great and to the tip. They also add great control when free handing script and things in miniatures. Orange pigment as with most acrylics is very thin, just needs a couple of coats
I've been using posca paint markers for about a year now and they are probably the best paint markers I've ever used. I gave them 4 stars because not all of there colors come in every size, for instance this slate gray only comes in there ultra fine tip and not in there fine tip, medium tip or broad tip. It would be nice to have there neon color set including there green and blue in finer tips as well. Other than that the quality of the makers are 100%.
These posca pens are very popular with artists. Unfortunately, along with popularity, their quality control has deteriorated. Of the 4 pens purchased, two ran completely dry after very light use (and I mean light use). For the price it’s not a great deal. I will look for an alternative product.
This simple paint marker has changed my entire artistic process completely. The smooth, consistent lines produced by this marker helped to unlock different creative approaches, and I am very grateful. The occasional second pass is needed to reach full opacity, but the results are far superior to any other product I have tested. Will continue to purchase.
I have been using POSCA paint pens for a few years now and they are incredibly versatile! I’ve had success using them on canvas, all types of paper, on resin (cured), on fabrics, on glass, over watercolours, on metals snd I’m sure there are plenty of other ways to use them that I am yet to discover. The pens basically draw like regular markers but keep their colour/opacity and can draw on a greater range of surfaces. You may need to seal the pen to ensure it doesn’t rub off or scratch, this really depends on the surface you apply it to. I think they may have improved the pen designs as these nibs were much nicer than the ones I purchased years ago, the nib is more precise (so creating intricate designs is much easier), the paint flows better and it’s easier to prep ... I think they may have improved the pen designs as these nibs were much nicer than the ones I purchased years ago, the nib is more precise (so creating intricate designs is much easier), the paint flows better and it’s easier to prep them. The pens take a small amount of prep to use for the first time which involves shaking the pens to get the little metal ball rolling, you press and hold the nib against a hard surface to get the paint flowing and then you are basically good to go. Pens can go dry over time and may simply require a few good shakes and to press the nib against a hard surface again, or you may need to remove the whole nib to clean it before it will work again.
Got these during a sale. I tried the black 3m and 1m out on my polymer clay, sculpey. And it works!I tested using already baked clay. First piece, I let it sit overnight with paint on it. Next day, I applied the varnish and it still smeared the black paint.Second piece, after applying paint, I rebaked in the oven for 10 min. Let it cool down. Then applied varnish. Paint DID NOT SMEAR this time. I even applied the varnish light and heavy. Paint stayed intact. So the trick is to rebake the clay after painting. I put wax paper under mine just in case (I use tiles for baking).
