I was a tad disappointed that the paint was ALL glitter as I'd have preferred some normal paint, but almost any acrylic pain would work if you didn't want just glitter. Overall this is a good set, especially if you like glitter, and I would recommend it especially as a gift.

This is an air dry clay modelling kit. I have to say it is great fun and there are lots of bits and pieces included with this set. There are 2 x 1kg lumps of clay as well as tools, acrylic paints, brushes, tools and an instruction guide as to how to use this kit. The clay did take a little moulding and manipulating to get it to the right texture, so for younger children, this may need working a little bit for them. Once ready the clay becomes very easy to work, it can be moulded into basic thumb pots or coil pots. I did try some on a small hobby-sized potters wheel and it worked very well on that as well. I like this clay as it doesn't need a kiln to dry, it does take a long time to dry completely, I have left it for several days to make sure it is properly dried. ... MoreThis is an air dry clay modelling kit. This DIY contains 2 bags of air dry clay. Each of them is 1kg. It can dry naturally within three days. I did two small items with my daughter. She absolutely enjoyed it. There are five wooden sculpting tools and a smoothing sponge provided. You can use them to shape and sculpt your creation. The best part is you can even paint it after a few days natural drying process. Good rounded kit that is perfect for any home pottery DIY.
I'm a beginner and it would have been helpful to have a tool guide as I don't know what some of them are used for. I also used a metal potter's needle as it gives a sharp point, which I already had. Apart from the knife, I didn't use any of the other tools, but they are easy to clean. The guide provided is pretty good, but some hints and tips would have been helpful. Here's some things I found out as I went along:- Water stops the clay from sticking to the surface- Use plenty of water- Put a silicone mat on the surface.
