The wafer layers are light and crisp; melting in your mouth as the simple “cookies and cream” flavor comes to life on your tongue. The sensory experience reminded me of enjoying the cheap, unnaturally colored packages of wafers my grandmother purchased for me as a child in bulk packaging at the discount grocery. This bar has a thin layer of white “vanilla” style coating all around the outside. Unfortunately, holding the bar in my hand for several minutes in the 90• heat today had melted the icing inside the packaging before I could open the bar. However, that actually made the yummy wafer treat easy to slide up in the packaging and consume without making a mess as I enjoyed it while out running errands. The taste of the bar, the wafers, were neutral and almost a little salty. The “cookies and cream” filling between the layers was sweet and delightful. The melted icing exterior was a happy accident as the flavor of the coating that remained on the bar was consistent with the flavor of other nutrition bars; slightly saccharine or “chemical” aftertaste as described by others. Overall, this is one of my favorite nutrition bars I’ve tried. I am very active and eat a lot of portable protein options. I am only moderately calorie conscious and do not require a low fat diet. This bar was balanced and met my nutrition needs. I felt satisfied by the slightly salt, sweet treat that also left me feeling refueled and ready to continue with my day. The price was unbeatable. I will be purchasing this bar again and trying the other flavors. RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I purchased these online from Walmart. Each layer has crispy wafers with a yummy tasting strawberry creme flavor. Then there covered with a delicious strawberry icing. You get 5 protein energy bars per box. I'm thinking they cost like $5 a box. Each bar gives you 13g of protein. You get 220 calories per bar and only 5g of sugar and 11g of carbohydrates. So far I have only tried these strawberry ones and the mint. I can't wait to try the other flavors. These are a very fulfilling snack. If you have not tried this product yet I highly recommend you do. These are absolutely amazing and I'm so glad I found them. My entire family really enjoys these protein bars.

I have recently had to add protein bars to my diet as I was not getting enough protein in my diet (illness, not laziness) so ordered all sorts of protein bars to do taste tastes and find out which bars I liked. In the past, I've tasted protein bar that tasted good for first two bites, then just became too chewy to finish or had an after-taste. After tasting about 20 various flavors, I started looking at more than how much protein was in each protein bar and noticed that more than a few protein bars were packed with sugar, not great as while I am trying to up my protein intake, I'd still like to adhere to a low sugar, low sodium diet. Help, I think I'm finishing these too fast

I cannot believe this is a protein bar, it tastes so good. It's just like a white chocolate peanut butter wafer honestly. The 6g of sugar checks out I suppose, but I think it's fine as long as you restrict yourself to a bar a day (I think the daily sugar intake that's recommended for adult women is 24g and 30g for men, at least that's what a quick Google search shows).I originally bought this because I realized I don't eat a lot of protein, and sugary snacks offering the same benefit seemed better than nothing. Package is nice, size is good I suppose? It was expensive but products of similar quality and quantity were more expensive. I bought it for the high protein count and the low sugar grams. I should have read the ingredient list more carefully, and it's good that Puritan makes that easy to do. One should avoid overeating saturated fats, and this has them in palm oil and palm kernel oil, though the quantity is all right at 6 grams. Harvard Health says an average woman's daily intake should not exceed 16 grams and an average man 19 grams. It lacks transfats, which are a lot worse for you than saturated fats. The sugar is a little more than a teaspoon, with stevia leaf extract providing more sweetness. I find most processed foods taste sweeter than I like, but probably most people want sweetness. So I'll eat one of these from time to time without concern.

I have been haunted by these ever since I first tried them. I understand as a protein bar you can’t make them taste like the strawberry wafer candy, but at least come close! It was so confusing; I opened one up and it smells AMAZING, like seriously mouth watering strawberry smell! Took a bite, okay texture is very “powdery” but that’s to be expected OH GOD WHAT IS THAT TASTE GET IT OUT GET IT OUT GET IT OUT! At first my brain tried mixing the flavor with the smell, and it tasted okay for the first 1-2 seconds and then boom this absolutely terrible, artificial, powdery-smooth everything wrong with protein powder taste… I had to spit it out it was so horrible, and kept trying to spit the flavor out until I washed my mouth out with water. I tried to give it a second chance, had another a different day different place different things before/after and, if anything, it was worse. It seemed the more I tried to chew it or try it, the worse the flavor got. I’m writing this review because I was online shopping and saw those normal strawberry wafers and instantly gagged because the taste of these things came up suddenly, so now those are ruined. It must just be me and a few people but boy was that terrible, you couldn’t pay me $1,000 to eat just 1 bite of these things let alone have me pay a very not-cheap price to eat them! Huge waste of money. Family who I gave the extras too hated them as well, and were pretty mad I gave these to them (I did warn them!)
