He is not as good as he once was fishing and telling where bottom was using a bottom bouncer. Told him to let line out till you see such a color line at you rod tip. He was able to do that and catch walleyes. Thank you again.

This line is a game changer as the tuna move up and down the water column. They can start bout at 80’ and then go to 300’ knowing where your bait is gives you much more confidence for those all night jig sessions. Especially when jigging for Bluefin Tuna with flat fall irons or little Snippers or what ever your confident bait is. It is hard to commit to jigging for hours in the dark wearing a head lamp when you do not know how deep you truly are. When the captain is calling out marked fish.

Great line for jigging and targeting fish at certain depths throughout the water column. 30 lb line is thin, smooth and very strong. This line has save me from getting hung up on the bottom as I knew the depth and simply counted out the matching color changes. When fishing expensive jigs this can be huge. My advise is when you tie this line to your leader, make sure you tie it at the start of the color change so you know how much line you let out.

I use a 100 yard top shot attached to mono backing using an Alberto knot for all jigging and trolling use. A quick dab of Super Glue over the connection will reduce friction going through the guides, strengthen the knot, and prevent it from fraying.
I've used this line in 20 lb weight for at least 6 years. I troll for walleyes and it has never failed me. Last August I caught a 50" Musky with this line as well as numerous walleye over the spring and summer. I stopped using my line counter reels. It is great to know your depth without cumbersome heavy reels that typically have line counters. I use it on level wind and spinning reels with equal success. Highly recommend.
Power Pro Depth Hunter has become my favorite line. It changes color every 25 feet and every five feet there is a small black mark about two inches long. I do a lot of trolling and this allows me to know how far back I am from the boat. I am catching a lot of blue catfish in the 10 - 26 pound range and have not had any line failures. I am gradually putting it on many more of my reels...both casting and spinning...not always in the 30 # weight, but always Depth Hunter. I like the 500 yard or 1500 foot length as it is enough to do three reels.
Love using powerpro braid for inshore and offshore fishing.Has a good feel easy knot tying and greaylt strength.The multi colourd braid gives you great reference points when retrieving your catch
I troll for stripers and the speed and amount of line out has a large bearing on the lure depth. With this color coded line, I can be much more precise with how much line I have out. Line counter reels are only somewhat accurate if you have them fully loaded. With differing amounts of line on Line counter reels, they can be off by a significant amount.The only down side is that I like to keep all my trolling reels with the same starting color so, if I have a line break, I end up throwing away almost 100' of line in order to get back to that same color (blue in my case). That is, however, a small price to pay for such accuracy and flexibility in line length management and, therefore, lure depth.
Never understood the value of multi colored braid till now.The explanation is it great for depth finding. So, logically it makes sense what length and depth each color means. Being "old school" monofilament then learning how awesome braided line is, never late to learn and adjust to new technologies and products. Excited to try my new braid next fishing trip.
