Easy fix style.

What a difference a day makes with this simple but effective wall feature. Follow the clear instructions and cutting is simple. Liquid nails is recommended and we found fast grab High strength perfect with great initial grab but easy to move into position. As mentioned in another comment the felt is true black with the oak veneer being a black wash. This gives a great contrast and depth. I had been researching and had samples from other companies and found Prempanel to be virtually the same but half the price. I highly recommend this product.

Great but flawed product.

The construction is precision cut laminate over black dyed MDF. I didn't have any problems with the factory staples coming loose, but since they are spaced about 250 apart you will want re-staple the ends on some cuts. If you are doing a complex install like me (windows and a 10 degree roof) buy yourself an Ozito Electic Stapler an 12mm staples. (14mm are too long, and 10mm don't bite enough). It would be better if they continuous glued the MDF to the backing. The other problem I had is the backing material is offset incorrectly and creates an uneven gap on the panel joins. (See Photo) I had to rip the backing material down 3mm on a table saw to get the gap spacing consistent.

Look and feel reasonable, but an issue with colour consistency

Quality feels reasonable enough, and they look good, although not sure I'm convinced with the way the foam backing is attached with tiny staples to the MDF.One thing i did notice, only after they were installed is that there is a slight colour variance between panels, see attached photo.I made sure all of the ones i grabbed said "Oak" on them and they all had the same product code, but still a difference in colour. We were installing them in low light conditions so did not get a chance to notice this until the downlights were actually installed.Make sure you check the consistency colour of the panels as you grab them from the stack.

Looks the goods!

Great product and gives a great finish. A couple of tips, paint around any PowerPoint'sand the edges where panels meet walls black to hide any gaps. Trim and extra 6mm from recessed felt side so you can get the gaps even when laying the next sheet (seems as though there is a miscalculation in manufacturing and if not trimmed will make large black gaps). Also a big must is, make sure you get all panels from the same batch to avoid colour variations between different batches. All in all, quite happy with the outcome!

Low quality - batons just fall off foam backing.
4 April 2024

Poor quality. An absolute debacle to saw. The buttons are so badly affixed to thr backing foam that as soon as you saw or handle, the glue fails and they peel off. In thr instructions they just say 'glue' the batons on but don't say what type of glue to use...quite obviously they never discovered this either. I tried three different types and none gripped. Even with putting masking tape over edge to be cut, there was chipping at the edge...and I used a nice fine high numbered tooth saw blade on my circular saw. The colour is dull and looks unattractive. I wish I'd bought easypanel and painted it as this has been a nightmare.

PREMPANEL TIMER SLAT PANEL GREAT PRODUCT
25 April 2024

I recently purchased the Timber Slat Panel from Bunnings for our office in South Melbourne Victoria, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Not only does it add a touch of natural beauty to our workspace, but it also effectively reduces echoing, creating a more pleasant environment for everyone. The quality of the product is outstanding, and the installation process was a breeze. Our office now feels more comfortable and inviting, thanks to this fantastic solution from Bunnings. Highly recommended for both functionality and aesthetics.

Perfect Solution
19 September 2024

I installed the Prempanel black oak for my client in two areas of her home. My client wanted to decorate the area but was not sure of what was the right position. I consulted her on her family lifestyle and culture and proposed the large wall in the family lounge area was the right position for a full wall coverage. This layout not only satisfied the acoustic management with the large room with large windows opposite, but provided a setting for her wall mural. The second area was the dining room side wall where the round mirror was placed over the panel to complete the aesthetic appeal. The black oak panels offered well decorated walls with an understated mood perfect to display her wall mounted items.

Pretty good for the price
25 March 2024

Installed in bedroom as a feature wall and overall they look great. Only fault is that you can notice the gaps between one panel to the next as they are slightly larger than the gaps in between each strip of wood within a panel. You could potentially shave down a bit of the black felt off each panel before joining to the next, but we didn't notice this until part way through installing and to be honest, we knew if we tried to cut of a couple ml of felt it probably wouldn't end up straight. Just be aware of this gap/spacing issue. The wood is also a very thin veneer, definitely tape before cutting and be careful transporting. We noticed a chip of wood come off one panel just from putting it into the trolley at Bunnings.

Stapled only... No Glue!!!
12 May 2024

While this product looks amazing it is very cheaply constructed!!! The MDF backing strips are onlyattached with staples (Not glued at all) and the staples only just make contact with the MDF. Whenyou cut the panels the vibrations cause the stables and strips to separate. If you're considering thesepanels you will also need a heavy duty staple gun with at least 16mm staples in it as the felt backingis 10mm thick. It looks like only 12mm staples were used to make these. Again, they look fantasticbut you are going to want to re-staple every strip on every panel. 15 strips per panel with at least 10staples. 150 staples per panel! That's a lot of extra work!

Very easy to work with and looks great. Provides some sound proofing as well.
15 August 2024

I bought 10 panels for our living room. I am not a tradie but still managed to put them all up. I cut them with a handsaw! No problem. My wall is unrendered brick so holes had to be predrilled in the right place in order to screw the felt backing, Aligning it was the hardest bit. Wished it had been a timber or giprock wall instead. Cost me $990 dollars plus button head black screws and postage. The alternative was rendering the bricks and painting it. Not great. Best thing I have ever done. It looks a million dollars.
