This was a gift from my husband and I have been so pleased with it! In the microwave it catches spills so that one can just lift out the mat with the liquid in it and dump. Its waffle surface and flexibility keeps the liquid on the surface when picked up. In the same way it serves as a potholder when picking up a bowl of soup or other hot item. It is easily cleaned by running under the faucet. I have saved on using up so much paper towel! A great invention that I wouldn't do without!

Everyone needs this for your microwave. Cleaning is so easy now. I hated taking the glass turn table out to clean all of the time because I was afraid of breaking it in the sink. This stops so many spills.

I was looking for a trivet to place hot pots and bowls on when I came across this silicone microwave mat. We use it every day to help keep our microwave clean and protect surfaces from heat damages. It’s perfect to leave in the microwave to take dishes out with burning your hands and then transport to a table. It c Cleans easy by using the faucet sprayer then air drying. I’m purchasing two more to leave on the kitchen island.
One of the BB&B employees recommended this mat to me a few years back. Since I have lots of spills in the microwave, I said okay, even though I didn't think it would be THAT great. I was wrong! I love it. No longer do I have to remove the glass plate to scrub it down and try to put it back. (I badly nicked a glass plate of a previous microwave oven and discovered that replacing one was very expensive.) Thanks for the replacement. And double thanks to the employee who recommended this.
I purchased this for one reason and that was to aid in lifting a hot bowl or dish out of the microwave. As it turns out, that is just one of many uses for this simple invention. It acts as a cushion between the glass plate and any dish or cup and if you spill liquid onto it, the grid-like holes capture and secure the liquid making it easy to cleanup. I have rheumatoid arthritis and some days, I can't grip the side of a bowl or grab a cup handle. This mat allows me to securely and safely transfer the item to the table. I bought several for Mother's day gifts and a spare one for me. I never want to be without it.
So many uses! Fits perfectly in the microwave. So easy to clean and much easier to wash than the microwave plate. No need to use kitchen mitts or gloves to take hot dishes out of the microwave. Being silicone it is both flexible and heat resistant. I just pick up the mat and place it where I need it. Perfect as a place mat or even to put hot pots or pans on. I've even used it as a drying mat to put cups and glasses on that I've hand washed. Very reasonably priced for such a versatile item.
I love this silicone mat! It has many uses, and it is so convenient to use in the microwave. I can easily wipe any spills . I don't have to use paper towels on the glass anymore because this mat fits perfectly on it. I thought it was such a nice item, I bought two for Christmas gifts.
This silicone mat is the best thing ever for the microwave! It fits perfectly over the glass dish. It catches spill-overs, can be used to transport hot dishes from the microwave oven and used as a trivet on the table or countertop. It's flexible, durable and has no odor. It also cleans up easily just by rinsing under the kitchen faucet. If something spills on it, the honeycomb texture catches liquids so it won't spill while carrying it to the sink. You can even use it to open stubborn jar lids. I'll be buying more of these to give as gifts. Highly recommended to anyone who uses a microwave oven.
I bought one of these mats and love how it keeps my micro clean, but for some odd reason it affects popcorn. Took me a while to notice that my popcorn stopped popping well when I got the mat, so I just take it out before I do popcorn and all is well. Otherwise, it's a great product that does everything I want--keeps the interior clean and also works as a lid to keep the top clean. Much easier to clean than the inside of the micro, and useful for retrieving hot dishes.
