Prismacolor Turquoise Graphite Pencil Set Medium

I love these graphite pencils ! I picked them up at hobby lobby recently. These are pricey , but the quality is amazing! I am able to draw very well with these pencils . This is my newest drawing I did using these . When I get an image in my head I have to draw immediately. These pencils glide smoothly , and am able to shade well also.

Essential pencil starter set

This Prismacolor pencil set is an essential starter set for any artist (from beginner to advanced). The variety in graphite enables you to easily switch back and forth between light shades all the way to rich darker gradations. The texture in which is given to the drawing surface allows for continuous layering which is critical to achieve a more realistic look for your sketch work. They also allow for easy clean up with any given artist eraser. This is a product well worth the price and will recommend this as well as any other Prismacolor set.

Good Pencils

I got this set because it came with a 6H . I think the quality is good for all manner of sketching and shading. I would not place them above Staedtler but they do apply well. What I don't like is the metal cap. When you sharpen this digs into your palm making it uncomfortable. Also they did not come sharpened so I did the whole set and by the time I was done my palm was irritated. The Mars Lumograph by Staedtler for example have nice, smooth, rounded ends so when you do sharpen them there is a soft feel, Also I found it hard to get a precise point after sharpening. I had to buy a different sharpener and ultimately bought their prisma color one and that worked ok. All in all for the price, good pencils.

Good pencils but annoying stickers

The wood casing has a small diameter so these pencils feel more delicate than most. The lead is nice enough. However, when you buy one-at-a-time, or even whole boxes, each pencil has a paper barcode sticker wrapped around it. Removing these ugly stickers is not easy, and requires the use of a strong adhesive remover such as Goo Gone to clean off the sticky residue. (Unhappily, I bought 48 pencils, so this was tedious!) I recommend buying some other brand, such as Kimberly or Faber Castell or Staedtler, which arrive clean and ready to use.

Great for drawing anime

My daughter is really into drawing anime characters. So when I got the opportunity to try this new said I took a chance on it. My daughter says the pencils work really well on her sketchpad and she came up with some really pretty drawings. My daughter also has a YouTube channel where she creates anime characters as a comic book and that first starts out when she’s drawing. This pack is perfect for anyone who likes to draw a sketch. My husband also use them to draw out tattoos recently. He is a professional tattoo artist and he said these are one of the best pencils that he has used.

Great sturdy pencils, draw very nicely

I got these for my daughter who is showing an interest in art, and so far we’re very pleased. They sharpen easily and don’t break off without mistakes being made. The lines they draw are smooth and even, a little wider than a standard pencil. She really made some fine art with them already, and this set should last her a long time considering they hold up well and there’s 12 in the box. The tin they came in is nice storage too.

I bought this set because it had more B pencils and those seem to be what I use. Sadly when I sharpened them the wood shredded and broke the graphite repeatedly. Even my pack of Dixon Ticonderoga sharpens perfectly so it's not the sharpener.Next time I would buy a different pencil. This is a nuisance to sharpen.

Not a fan unfortunately

I love Prismacolor products typically, but I am not a fan of this turquoise set. The sharpened pencils scratch the paper, as in it's not a smooth glide on the paper and that's really annoying in my opinion. The pencils come unsharpened, which is fine but other sets come sharpened and with a sharpener as well. As far as the hardness of the lead on these graphite pencils, I can not tell a difference between them. They all scratch the paper, and they're all the same darkness. Overall, they're okay but you can buy a pack of no. 2 for a lot cheaper and the same outcome.

Really? Does Prismacolor need a review? What's important here is that Prismacolor is for children. Let them enjoy the best art supplies and they will want to continue and mature as artists.

I enjoy using this Prismacolor Sketch Set of 12 pencils for sketching. This set comes with a variety of pencils meant specifically for drawing lines and shading. These pencils all write smoothly on the paper and do not crumble. Overall, it's an affordable yet quality set of pencils to meet any sketch artists needs.
