I love this great little mandolin. It is so easy to use, and has a very thin slicer, that is wonderful because you can't cut your fingers with it, like you can when it's open wider. I use this several times a week, so much better than another one I have. I'm giving these as gifts!!!

Just recv'd this mandoline. I love these things. I have several in different sizes. This one has 3 different thickness settings and is a nice width. The price was very low for all it does. I believe it will be my favorite. No kitchen is complete with out this mandoline.

I love this great little mandolin. It is so easy to use, and has a very thin slicer, that is wonderful because you can't cut your fingers with it, like you can when it's open wider. I use this several times a week, so much better than another one I have. I'm giving these as gifts!!!

Makes slicing a breeze. Red onions paper thin. Perfect tomato slices. This little genie has a big heart and tackles slicing like a pro. It's my new slicing bestie.
Flimsy at best. Hand guard is not properly made. Wouldn't even hold on to a Yukon gold potato. The blade wouldn't even slice through a Yukon potato. Would not recommend just for safety reasons alone
I just cut the end of my finger off. Today is the first time I've used it. No more! This is going to take a long time to heal. I don't recommend it in
I really do not like to cook and I particularly do not like complicated food gadgets. That is why I love, love, love this product. I use it primarily for slicing squash, zucchini, carrots, celery, and sweet potatoes. Not the greatest for onions (or I haven't figured out the trick yet). And I am not sure about other foods. I just haven't tried other things. But, with three thickness choices, I can cut a bit thicker for veggie chips (I bake or microwave them after I cut them) or a veggie tray ... or cut almost paper thin to put in veggie soup/stew.This is super fast and easy to use, clean, and store. LOL).BEWARE however. I don't think the plastic "holder" they provide to use to slide the food back and forth across the blade is worth a darn. In fact, that is probably the reason folks don't like this product. But I bought a pair of cut resistant gloves and just slice away. If you don't do something to make sure you keep your fingers/thumb away from the blade when you get down to just a bit of the veggie left, you will probably slice yourself. Don't ask how I know that.I am not sure that those who a proficient cooks/chefs will like this. Maybe. Maybe not. But I love it and use it several times a week without fail. It is one of my personal favorite things.
If you read the post from the reviewer who had difficulty slicing an onion, well, the thing is you need to cut the onion in half, then slice it cut side down. You need a flat surface to make sure the food doesn't move. If the top part moves off as well, then cut off a bit of the top part of the produce so there's a better grip with the hand guard/produce pusher.My only issue was that water seeps into the cracks on the sides, gets trapped inside, and never really dries out. After a year or more of having one it gets moldy in there.
So flimsy. 1st it wouldn't even slice through a Yukon gold potato or a carrot, 2nd the gripper to protect your hand from the blade would grip onto the potato. Very unsafe. Accident waiting to happen
I've purchased, probably, three or four different mandolins in all price ranges. This little baby is terrific. Perfect for my kitchen. Relatively safe -- certainly safer than others I've tried. Stores conveniently on end in less than a half-inch. I use it almost daily for onions. It'll dispatch a large onion into slices in no time. Then just chop/chop/chop with my chef's knife, and they're ready for soups, stews, carmelizing, whatever. Carrots and potatoes are probably the densest veggies I use it for. It's awesome. Wouldn't trade it.
