I never tried Proraso after shave lotion (lozione) products before. I'm comparing this to Khiel's Blue lotion Astringent, Clubman Pinaud classic after shave, and your typical drugstore stuff.This Proraso stuff is sort of in it's own category. It does have alcohol so you will know where you shaved a bit too close (abraised skin burns more). BUT, it does have shea butter and lotion like properties that leave your skin not dry. Unlike some traditional after shave like say an astringent, it does not leave your skin chalky. Harris, Taylor, Salter, etc. The particular take on sandalwood that Proraso Red represents is a bit different than these - but in its difference it is one I can highly recommend. This is, without a doubt, my favorite After-Shave. It's soothing, refreshing, and leaves behind a great (fairly subtle) scent. It also leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, and refreshed. It's definitely a shaving product I always make sure to keep around. By the way, this larger bottle is a great value. Per ounce, it only costs roughly half the cost of the "normal" 100ml bottles. My only complaint (a minor one) is about the bottle itself - more specifically its "nozzle". I wish it would allow me to easily pour the aftershave into an empty 100ml bottle (which, of course, takes up less space in the bathroom). But I know that isn't what this product was intended for.

I've always enjoyed the effects of Menthol and Eucalyptus in most aftershaves that contain the two. In 86 years, I've tried a few, with Pororaso being the best I have experienced. I have one compliant, the top of the container is too large to keep too much Lotion from spilling. Please redesign the opening of the container, you only need a very small hole to be efficient. This is an excellent value and works great.I'm removing one star for the scent. While it's not a bad scent it's clearly not scented by essential oils. It's a pretty good smelling synthetic scent but for the price it's reasonable close and works great as an aftershave. I would purchase it again but somewhere else. I also removed 1 star for the 1960's speed shipping. My order only had to go from Delaware to South Carolina it shipped on the 5th and arrived on the 17th of July. I actually placed an order for the exact same products from Amazon after seeing how late they were going to be and placed the order early enough that it arrived the next day.Here is a tip. Got one of the small bottles to try and loved the scent from the moment I removed the cap, and then I discovered a few drops on my undershirt and the scent lingers nicely throughout the day, though since aftershaves and colognes act differently depending on body chemistry I don't know if this is common for Proraso Red Aftershave or if I'm just lucky. Removes shaving irritation and leaves an ever so slight sleek residue, almost like conditioner when you rinse it out of your hair, and then have to rinse it off the rest of your person, but much more pleasant, and then that sensation fades completely away as the aftershave dries.When I saw the barber size and realized you get 4x the product at roughly 2x the price of a small bottle, I feared the savings ... The scent of the new "green" Proraso aftershave lotion doesn't begin to compare with the previous "amber" lotion. I got many compliments on the old formula, but this new scent disappears quickly after starting out with an odd scent that's hard to describe other than -- unappealing. It improves after a few minutes, but then disappears. The feel is about the same as the old amber formula, with a bit more menthol. Overall, if both were still available I'd choose the amber formula over this one every time. The new green formula will probably have me switching brands of aftershave. I have also tried the new Proraso balm, and found its scent utterly unappealing.
Proraso is the quintessential after shave. It’s the best, period. Classic scent, goes on smooth, just enough tingle without obnoxious burn. If there was ever a criticism it’s that the awesome clean classic scent is short lived. But it hangs around, albeit subtly for a while, and the experience of actually applying it makes a “so-so” shave a damn fine shave. Every den should have this, and a backup. Lastly, the new bottle is nice. It’s refined and elegant and even the cap feels substantial. I can’t help but miss the old logo/sticker, but the new bottle looks great on the counter.It’s simply the best. A must have.
This aftershave is tried and true product. It smells like no other competitor. The menthol is bracing yet reserved. The witch hazel and allantoin help sooth irritated skin. A big bottle will last six months if you use the atomizer.
This is my second bottle of PAS and I'm a huge fan. This is my daily go-to. The product exits perfectly from the bottle which is in great proportion for the price. The smell is undefinable but I'll try: slightly menthol, slightly citrus with just a hint of eucalyptus sweetening things up; divine and summery. The skin hit is mellow but effective on a freshly shaven face and the scent will last about an hour. A bit more for close encounters (wink). PAS should be in every man's den/cabinent!
