I bought these foam tiles for my new home gym to protect my engineered wood flooring. They are nice, if you dont mind some mild discoloration among tiles (see my photo). A straight edge and a utility knife is all that is needed to cut them so they fit flush against your baseboards. If your intent is to use them as flooring, I would recommend you also buy 30 x 60" mats for items like your weight bench and exercise bike. Otherwise, you might be very unhappy to find deep, permanent indentations in these EVA foam mats when you move your weight bench to a different location (see my second photo). I ordered from Pro Source and received the product within a few days, which was very impressive (though I do live locally so I'm guessing that helped). The foam tiles were a very good price (I shopped around a bit) and perform well. I purchased the 1/2 inch because the one inch was out of stock. The set also comes with 12 end borders, to provide a finished edge to the outside of your mat area. While these borders are necessary, I really like how they make the matting look, with the smooth edge. I was worried a half inch wouldn't be thick enough to absorb the impact of jumping around doing HIIT circuits in my garage (think burpees, broad jumps, tuck jumps etc.) and was cautious of the possibility of back/knee/ankle injuries since it was still going on top of a cement garage floor. But I'm so thrilled with these mats! They are perfect for my workouts and totally absorb the shock while still being firm enough to maintain balance and stability. Comfortable to kneel and do planks on. The interlocking pieces go together seamlessly. Not to mention it makes my home gym look more official and "real", which gives me more motivation to workout! Maybe I shouldn’t have assumed much for price but these are pretty useless for workout. Puzzle pieces slide soooo easily. Don’t stay together. God forbid a split squat or a jumping jack is done on them. Maybe just a super stationary workout. Or maybe good for under a treadmill. And my dog does like lying on them 🤷🏻‍♀️ easy to wipe. But definitely not for any active workout.
So far it is working out well. The puzzle mat sections went together well.I put small rubber mats under heavy weights to protect the mats a bit from intents. Before I did that, the indents on the mats did return to normal, but not sure how that would be long term.The mat order came quickly and well packaged.I would buy again.
