SO first I want to say that AMS has some of the fastest shipping around. As for this guitar upon receiving this guitar the first thing you will notice is that it come's with a really nice well padded PRS gig bag.Second it is just a very beautiful guitar and looks amazing and was very well set up right out of the box so much so that my guitar tec did not have to do anything to it other then we changed the strings and put new ones on it as I do with all my guitars.the neck is nice and smooth and not to thick or wide very comfortable and very easy to play.As far as how it play's well it plays like a dream for me and sound's amazing and I like it so much that I will be buying another one very soon in the charcoal color.I would recommend this guitar to anyone that is ... MoreSO first I want to say that AMS has some of the fastest shipping around. As for this guitar upon receiving this guitar the first thing you will notice is that it come's with a really nice well padded PRS gig bag.Second it is just a very beautiful guitar and looks amazing and was very well set up right out of the box so much so that my guitar tec did not have to do anything to it other then we changed the strings and put new ones on it as I do with all my guitars.the neck is nice and smooth and not to thick or wide very comfortable and very easy to play.As far as how it play's well it plays like a dream for me and sound's amazing and I like it so much that I will be buying another one very soon in the charcoal color.I would recommend this guitar to anyone that is looking for a great guitar that plays and sounds amazing I promise you will not be disappointed in this guitar well done PRS.

This is by far the best single cut you are going to get for the price. Nice articulate pickups, even under serious gain, cool bridge setup that seems to really sustain well, and beautiful fretwork. The tuners are nice enough that I have no desire to replace them, and with the straight string pull at the headstock, the tuning stays put. You could easily put this guitar up against a "brand name" single cut twice the price and it would eat it for breakfast.Only potential downside I could see for some people - the neck is pretty thick and wide, and if you don't like a substantial neck, you probably won't like this guitar. If you have smaller hands, I would suggest going in store and playing one before pulling the trigger. Also, the wood patterns on the standard series is widely variable, from amazing almost flame-y, to no figure at all. Again, it'd be wise to see it in person before, but in any case it's still amazing that PRS can build these so well at this price point.

Fabulous value for money. Absolutely superb value for money. The fit and finish of this guitar is superb. Made in Cor-Tek factory in Indonesia. The set up out of the box was fine and perfectly playable, although my preference is a slightly higher action, but is easily adjusted. Stays in tune perfectly, unlike some other big name guitars I have had. Weight is substantial but not excessive. No negatives about this guitar. If you are looking for a Les Paul type guitar but don't need the logo and price, don't hesitate to get one of these, they are outstanding.

Overall:I have been a guitar player for more than 40 years and this guitar has exceeded my expectations, period. To put this into frame my last guitar was a Gibson R8 which I loved. But do to a hand injury a few years ago I thought I was done and sold it off. Fast forward a few years and a surgery later and I'm back. I bought this guitar as more of a test to see if I could really still play and I'm doing OK, yah. The fit and finish on this guitar rivals other brands in the thousands of dollars, no question. The most important feature of any guitar is its' neck and mine is perfect, no fret buzz or dead spots. The only upgrade I've done is replace the stock pickups with a set of Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and it sounds and plays GREAT! Tonally I'd put it somewhere ... MoreOverall:I have been a guitar player for more than 40 years and this guitar has exceeded my expectations, period. For the money I really, really feel you can't go wrong with this guitar, especially at it's price point. If you want a little more bling buy it with the maple veneer and for the money you're good again. Or save the upgrade charge and order a set of good pickups and you're all set right out of the gate.
Priced for a starter and none of that (oh my God it's over so and so When Mexican strats are over priced ).This guitar is actually worth the money. When Fender is making better Squires than Strats and fired their whole day shift. Oh, and despite the lack of information it comes with the excellent PRS Gig Bag! You could definetley play out with this guitar! Perfect back up if you need one!
I own one of these that is a few years old. I picked mine up in a trade involving a couple of non used guitars and some precussion equipment I had sitting around. I was lacking a LP in my collection and honestly I went in to get a 2006 Gibson LP tribute they had. I played that one along with another Gibson LP studio they had along side the PRS. There was no comparison between the three. The PRS was heavier, felt better, sounded better won all around. Since then I had my luthier replace the stock nut with a bone one and replaced the bridge pickup with a crunchy pat from guitar fetish. Don't get me wrong the stock pickups are very smooth and even keeled - I was just looking for a little more crunch. The wrap around bridge is a bit odd... I may at some point replace it ... MoreI own one of these that is a few years old. I may at some point replace it with a gibson or epiphone one. All in all tho this is a professional sounding and playing instrument. Flame top looks great - would rate it one A vs some of the AAA ones you can find at higher prices. I understand the allure and call of classic Gibsons and Fenders. I own one. IMO this guitar sounds great.... would/could fill a number of roles including being a primary go to stage guitar. There are also some subtle differences between the SE and the american made counterpart that costs thousand more from PRS. I have no doubt one of those would be a great primary. For those of us on a medium level budget tho - go play one of these along side almost any electric guitar costing less than one thousand US and see what you think.
For the price, (I paid £449), this guitar is a steal. It may be made in Indonesia, (Cort being the manufacuturer, by the looks of things), but believe me, this is no bad thing. Just have a look on YouTube for the PRS Indonesia factory tour, (where you will notice the P. Cort sign!), and you will be sold. Great looking, sounding and feeling guitar. The only issue I had was that, strangely, it came in a Gretsch box, which looked like it had been damaged by the courier. Holes punched in it everywhere. There was a slight mark between the pickups which could have resulted from whatever had happened in transit, but it is no big deal. It's possible I could have purchased a 'B Stock' guitar, which could account for the packaging, but there was no indication of this when I ... MoreFor the price, (I paid £449), this guitar is a steal. However, overall, this is a guitar I can thoroughly recommend. Lovely tones and enough punch for classic rock, (probably not metal though - but the beautiful finish doesn't exactly scream 'thrash'!).
Overall:OK..., I'm an old guitarist who quit playing years ago due to a fretting hand injury. A year ago I had surgery on it because of complications and it has recovered wonderfully. My guitar that I had back then was a Gibson R8 which I loved dearly. Coming back to try and play again I thought I buy an inexpensive LP model. Well let me tell you this guitar is perfection and after putting in a matched pair of 57' pickups, she just sings. Unless you need the Gibson trademark on the headstock these PRS guitars are just plane Great, period.
This was a demo model bought at a slight discount to retail. The folks at Sweetwater were through and detailed in their condition assessment. They mentioned two small dents on lower left bout treble side. Heck, I've searched and searched. And searched. I can't find barely any indication of dusty much less the tiniest of dents. Either way, the honesty and professionalism of every transaction with Sweetwater has always been top-notch. As for the guitar, beyond that it looks awesome, I cannot attest yet in that I'm patiently letting it acclimate to room temp after FedEx had it on a truck in temps 40 degrees colder than room temp. Patience is a virtue…..
This is probably the best single cut guitar value out there for the money. I've owned mine for a year and half. It arrived ready to play right out the box. The fret work and over all fit and finish is on par with many guitars that cost at least twice as much. I've been playing guitar for 25 years and owned dozens of guitars through the years from all price points. I played a lot of single cut style guitars from many other makers before deciding on this one. One thing I really like about this SE245 is that it feels like a well made modern update of the les paul design, while still looking classy but also feeling a little more comfortable and playable with it's bevels on the body.
