The third entry in the Assassin's Creed series is basically just a rehash of the previous two, but with the revolutionary war spin and some distractions baked into the gameplay. They added a sea battle mode where you command a late 18th century ship, complete with sails and cannons, and drive it around the eastern seaboard. Unfortunately, I don't think it was very successful. The game's story itself is a bit dull, but if you're looking to complete the trilogy, it might be worth checking out. The game also suffers from an overlong story. Without giving too much away, you begin as one character and eventually switch to a different one. The buildup of the first is far too long and leaves you bored by the time you start the second. Overall, I don't know if I'd recommend ... MoreThe third entry in the Assassin's Creed series is basically just a rehash of the previous two, but with the revolutionary war spin and some distractions baked into the gameplay. I picked it up out of a need for completion when it comes to the original Assassin's Creed trilogy. As far as the switch remaster, it's a bit lacking, but not a complete disaster.

Unbelievable game. Its my Top 5 favorite video game on the Sony platform. I grew up playing this game. Graphics arent perfect but they are still very impressive since it was remastered after it came out on ps3. Excellent story and amazing character development. Recommended for gamers that like stealth and action. Also those who like a good story game that feels like a movie.

Never had the chance to play this on my ps3 and ive had it the game for years. But now on the switch, i finished it in about 12 days. Not going to compare to other consoles because i play on handheld for 100% of my gaming. It is perfect for the switch. Graphics is good. Story line is excellent! Control is solid. Its a old game and if you've played before then dont buy. Its nothing special but if you never completed or played thw game, then grab it. Old games always seem to be better than the newer "flashier" games

This isn't my first time finishing ACIII, the first was when it originally released in 2012. It's my first time completing this remastered version as well as The Tyranny of King Washington, which I completed on Nintendo Switch.Despite playing it on Nintendo Switch, (no thanks to the graphical limitations) this remaster looked very pretty and played pretty well if comparing it to other games on Nintendo Switch. There were certain points like cutscenes, ost and vo that helped engage me into the story. I thought the vo and mo-cap acting was well done for a video game. That cinematic feel was really nice and helped keep me intrigued.Outside of the bugs (99% Synchronization bug with Assassin Recruit) and consistent force closing during play through of TTOKW, it made this experience much better than I remember it. Thankfully, I was able to achieve 100% Synchronization for the completion of TTOKW DLC. All the remaster enhancements, changes and content really made it a much more enjoyable experience. I really appreciated the soundtrack for this game, it was AMAZING that includes the ost for TTOKW. One track that really caught my attention was one with wind instruments , I think it's Ratonhnhaké:ton's theme.SPOILER ALERT:TTOKW story became even more interesting at the start of Episode 3. I wasn't expecting to get that same single player story quality from the DLC. Although, I do wish there was more closure for the relationship between Ratonhnhaké:ton and his mother towards the ending. For example, having him and his mother interact in some spiritual closeout animus conversation with her after the throne scene. We got a lot of introductory cutscenes with her, I don't think she ever even had a closeout scene (aside from seeing her when she is sitting on the throne). I really did think it was a great idea to have her play a bigger role in the DLC, it seemed like Connor was very close with her even after death. It's great that they captured some of that in the DLC.Overall it was fun to play, watch the cutscenes and have enjoyable gameplay with a lot to do.
I happen to like the Assassin's Creed series, despite this particular entry not being among my favorites in the franchise, I still enjoyed Assassin's Creed 3 and Liberation. The game itself isn't what I have an issue with, it's the port job. The audio crackles in cutscenes and transitioning out of them. I found the audio to be inconsistent in general. Framerate was not stable, going below 30 FPS fairly frequently in handheld and docked in Assassin's Creed 3. Performance in Liberation seemed better to me, but I never played it on the Vita so I don't have that as a frame of reference. The game itself is a good deal in terms of overall monetary value, but I can't recommend it until Ubisoft fixes the glaring issues present with this version of the game.
Decent port of a good title. I like it for handheld mode mostly. There are some performance issues and the graphics are what you should expect for a nintendo port of such a game, and I feel like these issues are amplified when docked. Overall I enjoy the Assassin's Creed series, and if you have played other games from earlier in the series you essentially know what you are getting in terms of formulaic gameplay, but that is not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion. I purchased this on a black friday sale which made it well worth it in my opinion, and it is a good option if you are looking to play it portably, or do not have other systems or a PC for playing. I appreciate having a lot of my collection on the Switch (my only system) and I prefer physical, as it gives ... MoreDecent port of a good title. I like it for handheld mode mostly. I've loved the Assassin's Creed franchise of games since I was a teen. I remember initially hating AC3 but making my way through it begrudgingly. I ended up enjoying it pretty moderately. Once I saw it was ported to the Switch, I decided to pick up a copy. It'd been years since I first played AC3, without any DLC, and I'd been yearning to play Liberation since its release.I was pretty disappointed to see how poorly the team did in porting the game. For all intents and purposes, it's still a pretty good game and I actually enjoyed it more and completed more of the side quests/synchronization this time around, but the graphics. glitches, and terrible subtitles almost ruined it for me.I didn't even know games on the Nintendo Switch could crash... and especially not ... MoreI've loved the Assassin's Creed franchise of games since I was a teen. It was an every other day occurrence. The graphics were better, but often glitched out in cutscenes, especially if I put a new outfit on Connor. The subtitles? Don't even get me started. If you're deaf/HOH. this game is not at ALL accommodating. The subtitles are for the most part accurate, but timed so that half of what some characters say never shows and a good 8/10 times, the wrong character is listed as speaking.I expect more for such a high-popularity game, but I guess they wanted to get their foot in the door producing titles for the Switch and yearned for the money instead of customer satisfaction. It was fun to play on the Switch, but not worth any more than $20. I wish I could just go back and replay it on my old 360.
I enjoyed playing this game when it first released on 360 (and PS3, PC as well as Wii U). The game was the first in it's series to offer sailing to a small extent, and exploring colonial America. Of course Black Flag would later come out and eclipse this game in scope and features, but at the time this was a great game. Flash forward to now and the game still holds up well with the slightly improved lighting engine found in the remaster for PS4 and Xbox One. The Switch version benefits from this but has the problem of using compressed audio likely to fit the game on a smaller Switch game cartridge. This is the first AC I have really played, so I don’t know all the storylines in the franchise. I heard good things about AC games and it was on sale, so I picked it up.So far (2-3 hours) it has been painfully slow to get into. It feels like it has been 80% cut scenes and 20% walking just between those cut scenes. They teach the game mechanics throughout this process, but man is it just slow and boring so far. I’m still pushing forward to give it an honest chance, because I want to like it.Graphics are great, the game plays great. It’s just starting to get old with the story being so slow and wondering “what and I doing?”Maybe this is just how these games are, but hopefully it gets better!
in the original you had to pick the locks on everything. this version they are all there for the taking. the graphics are amazing when you compare them to the original but the game play is still twitchy. they made the sync points hard to get into the game kept jumping out of the trees instead of going up. if they were going to make improvements i would have thought they would have taken some of the buggyness out.
