This is more of a PS5 companion for people who want to play in their own home or over wifi via remote play. Sony is not marketing this as anything more than that and that’s the reason why the price is so low compared to a steamdeck or ROG ALLY.The fact that you can already remote play on various devices like phones, laptops, tablets, etc. is missing the point. This device should have considerably less lag time than external non-Sony devices and be significantly quicker and easier to connect to. As someone who has tried remote play on other devices it is an absolute nightmare and time consuming to set up, but that’s exactly what makes this device ... I pre ordered but cancled it after I realized it had to be connected to your ps5 it will be great for a lot of people, but just not for me.I think its a cool idea but if I can't play it unless I'm connected to a wifi connection then I'm opting out
Please make sure your kid has a PS5 console before you purchase this for them. It's not even close to other devices such as ROG Ally or Steam deck as those handhelds can be used independently. This one cannot. Sony knows exactly what they're doing with this device basically promoting the digital versions of the games. Will never ever buy a PS unless it is a disc version. Total scam.
This device will let you play to you PlayStation 5 with the need of a television.This device is not a game console it's a game controller with a screen.
Justin is wrong, you do no need to be tethered to the home network. You can play from any wifi connection as long as it's strong enough. You can stream your home PS5 games from anywhere.
Total wasted opportunity from Sony. This product should have been HDMI input device with a 10ft cable to offer a proper lag free experience.1080p@120hz screen and hdmi would allow to be a universal product for all gaming and media devices. A proper second screen for the living room.
You can basically take this anywhere with 15mbps, at least! But remote play can be very unstable and crash often. Was quite stable when Tested it out but real world testing is another thing. Very nice concept and comfortable.
