I had done my research and loved the shoe I was using but after 700kms it was time for something new. I didn't fancy spending 200+ on the newest running shoe, so did some research and the puma came up in most sites as a really good neutral running shoe. It is very comfortable and wide enough for my big feet. I got a half size bugger as suggested and they fit perfect. Really good cushioning without feeling you are running on sand. I run around the 15km mark three or so times a week and these have no produced any foot or calf pain. I also love the colour, people can see you coming.

As a forefoot runner, with wide feet, and a preference for low drop shoes I always struggle to find something that is suitable for my style of running. Specially after Saucony ruined the endorphin speed 2.This shoe is one of the best shoes I’ve worn. And I found it to be more durable than shoes that sell at a higher price point.I would give it a higher rating but I struggle to find size 12.5 and looks like puma stopped manufacturing them.

Essentially pretty good: adequate in terms of cushioning, flexibility, and general comfort. The tongues, however, are annoying. In the zeal to shave weight, PUMA sacrificed comfort. The tongues are cheap and flimsy - at a weight savings of what? No more than two grams? The price - on sale (which seems to happen occasionally) - seems fair. The PUMA FAAS 700, discontinued several years ago hence now unavailable, was somewhat similar. But superior to these Velocity NITRO 2. The FAAS 700 was even softer and more flexible, with much better tongues. Their weight was essentially the same as these.

They seemed comfortable, actually very comfortable but the experience was short-lived. The shoes were returned because the color (Sunset) was too garish: bright orange, not a more subtle yellow as my computer monitor led me to believe. However, the "engineered mesh" may be troublesome, which became the experience with the Liberate Nitro 2. After an hour, it annoyingly grated along the tops and sides of the toes. The Electrify Nitro seemed very, very good - but in the zeal to shave weight, the tongue is way too flimsy to provide comfort. The shoelaces grate along the tops of the feet.
I didn't need another daily trainer in my rotation but, based on the very positive experience I've had with the Deviate Nitro 2, I couldn't resist getting the Velocity Nitro 2 for something lower to the ground and without a plate. The VN2 does not disappoint. It's one of those shoes that I'd be happy to take and wear anywhere. It has a nice comfy and roomy fit yet still provides a good lockdown. The ride is smooth that's best for easy to medium pace running but can still pick up the pace when you want to. The outsole is great as expected and can even handle mild smoothened dirt trails without a problem, making them great for the occasional road-to-trail outings. The Velocity Nitro 2 is very versatile. I bought this shoe several months ago as I was looking for a daily trainer that was not expensive and came in Red. The Nitro 2 is a well priced shoe that is superbly comfortable for running and for daily use and I think it looks great. I have put on more than 100 miles on this shoe with nearly no wear and tear. I think this shoe will go 500 miles. The upper is very comfortable, not too narrow and it never slips on my heels. The running is pleasant, soft, not too bouncy nor firm. The shoe is fairly light but this shoe is not for speed work outs. It simply feels a bit slow to bounce back for fast runs. I have at least 12 other pairs of shoes but when I want to get an easy run with comfort and no fuss, I reach for the Puma Velocity Nitro 2 and then wear it all day long....
I'm almost exactly 125 miles into these and they are fantastic every day running shoes. The cushioning is really nice, the grip is exceptional and the quality is on point. If I had to name bad points the tongue feels a bit on the thin side and when you lace up a little tighter, you'll feel the laces through it. Also the collar feel a bit high so I was getting rubbing and pressure on both of my out ankles. The collar has worn in but the laces can't be done up firmly or at least not for me. I'd definitely recommend these.
Around 5 years ago, I suddenly became blister prone. I was honestly losing hope that I would find a pair of shoes that made me excited to run again, but these have restored my blister-free running while providing enough cushion to feel fresh for the duration of long runs (6+ miles). I also find the shoes to be fast. I typically run ~7:30 per mile and am finding myself able to pick up the pace to sub 7 with relative ease. It is true the upper gets sweaty, but it may be worth it for how comfortable it is.As someone with finicky feet, I’m aware this shoe may not work for everyone, but for me it’s perfect.
The toe box is a big pro on this show. It is flexible, soft, and has just the right amount of space. The heel cup, from what I've seen, appears to be far better than the original. The upper overall is great. The issue is the actual functionality of the rest of the shoe. While being priced as a daily trainer, it is below the competition. The nitro foam is really soft, but not present enough for a daily trainer. The other foam is considerably stiffer causing the shoe to be surprisingly stiff with little flexibility. This shoe could be considered a supportive flat as the puma grip is very good and that level of stiffness is common in running flats, but this should not be considered a daily trainer. If the shoe changes significantly with use in favor or against, I'll ... MoreThe toe box is a big pro on this show. It is flexible, soft, and has just the right amount of space. bought recently because of aamzing online reviews. got 9.5 (recommended size). fit was true in length but was far too narrow, even after widening the laces. returned the shoes. did not purchase 10 for fear they would still be too narrow and too long. I have between D and EE feet. Very grippy outsole. Feels very lightweight on foot. nice cushioned outsole. soft, light construction of the shoe. not as supportive as the Puma.com profile suggests. my arches did not love the lack of support. loved the color tho.
