This is like the old tamagotchi pets that we used to collect but with sensory enhancements! I love that the set up is simple, just program date and time and let your kids do the rest! I also love that you can collect multiple pets in one toy so my kids aren’t begging for me to buy more. My kids love that they can pick their character and choose toys and accessories for it and then care for it. They also love the squishy inside the hole that they can pet and fill their sensory needs as the squishy has a censored button that responds to petting. There are also games they can play to earn more enhancements and characters and sounds as well. Overall it's very cute and entertaining ☺️ being able to pat your punirunes is to a next level of fun. My eldest daughter also wanted one after seeing how unique it is However I just feel it's not worth $100 because of the battery life. I have to keep finding new batteries or running out to get new ones since it only lasts 2 days or 3 if used less. That's a major downfall for me. Perhaps it should been a usb rechargeable option. My daughter comes back her to punriune and the battery just pops up. It's sad because it's obvious children will be busy with it, the usage of battery is a big thumbs down.

The newest Connection and color-screen Tamagotchis cost 70 - 100 AUD. The Punirunes has less items and overall features than those new Tamagotchis but it has its own features that make the cost still worth it.On the original Japanese release of this toy, you could not change the skin tone, so it is mindful that a skin tone selection was added for the international release. Each kid can evolve into certain adults, and then you can choose an adult by selecting one of the character gummies. But you only have a few character gummies to start with, so you will be able to unlock more adults as you raise more Punirunes (you get a new character gummie whenever a baby Punirune evolves into a kid). There is a menu that shows all the Punirunes you have raised so far, so collecting all the characters in all the colors will be exciting and provide longevity of the gameplay.There are six mini-games on the Punirunes. They are all very fun. With most games like the mochi pounding and dance mini-game, I find it more effective to move the internal squishy joystick to the side or forwards. I see people in videos try to push it down directly in the middle, but pushing it in any direction is easier.You get coins and happiness from mini-games. You can buy food ingredients, accessories, and room backgrounds. There aren't many accessories and more would have been better, but you can make the accessories different combinations of colors, so that's fun. It is also a nice challenge to find your Punirunes favourite foods by cooking and feeding different foods for them.Punirunes don't die but they do get sad and dirty fairly quickly, so you still have incentive to check on it often. When your Punirunes is an adult you can send it into the forest to raise a new baby. It only takes less than a day for a baby to become a kid, and another day for a kid to become an adult. Make getting all the characters your goal, and you will have a lot of fun with this toy.The graphics, music, and little "puni!" voice sounds are very nice. The characters are cute and the animations are full of personality; my current adult breaks out a guitar like a little rock star after I pet her a lot. I find that the lowest volume setting still isn't super quiet, but you can mute it if needed. My only major issue with the toy is that the rattling, clacking sound of the inner joystick breaks the immersion. Not sure if there could be a design solution for making it silent though.Overall it is a super fun device if you know what you're doing and you enjoy virtual pets. Dont forget to read the instruction manual and check the character chart on the web site to get the most out of the toy!
