Pureology Smooth Perfection Smoothing Serum 150 ml

I had previously used Pureology products. Let me tell you, this smooth perfection heat protectant serum did not disappoint. The consistency of this serum is amazing! A little goes a long way! You don’t need a lot of product. Even though the bottle is a little pricey for the size. It will last you a while. I used this smooth perfection serum for 3 consecutive days. I really wanted to focus on getting a good try of this product. I absolutely loved it. My hair has never felt healthier. Using this line my porous bleached (lightened) hair feels so silky, and it does not dry frizzy. I let it air dry the first day and it felt like I had gotten my hair done by a professional. First off, thank you to @pureology and @Influenster for sending me these 3 great #complimentary products to try. Upon receiving them, I checked out the texture and scent. Not gonna lie, the scent was a bit of a turnoff. It felt heavy, perfumey. The thick viscosity of all three products had me and my fine hair concerned that the products would be too heavy and weigh it down. However, that was not the case. I found the opposite. Despite the thick texture of all products, my hair wasn’t limp or lifeless. Never looked oily or weighed down. It looked great and shiny. Sadly, I didn’t really notice a difference in frizziness compared to my normal routine. I air dry my hair, perhaps if I blew it out the results would be different. I did use the Smoothing Serum on my dry hair (day 2 hair) to see if it would help tame my frizzies and found it to make my hair oily looking. I probably used too much. Lastly, my only other critical comments are around finding the shampoo took a little longer to rinse clean and the scent is quite strong across all three products. It lingers awhile. If you’re cool with that, great, but those sensitive to strong scents be advised. Overall, the Smooth Perfection Shampoo, Conditioner Smoothing Serum are good strong products. I get my hair colored auburn which can wash out quickly and this serum, paired with the @pureology shampoo and conditioner, truly helped preserve my rich shade while strengthening and protecting my hair. Having frizz control and heat protection for color treated hair in the same bottle is like three products in one. I also love that it’s all vegan ingredients too! It smells amazing. It has a warm scent with hints of cocoa, marshmallow, and a woody touch. I had good results for frizz control with all styles, straight, curly, etc. It doesn’t weigh down my curls too much. A Staple For Me Now

I tried this on a whim and I've tried nearly every brand offered at Ulta. I have long fine hair and I live in a humid state. After spending tons on high end products with thousands of 5 star reviews, I gave this a try. It has become a staple in my after shower routine. I wash my long hair once every 2 days. After towel drying I add 1.5 pumps of this stuff. It makes my hair dry so silky and the finish is even better when I heat style it. It has helped keep my hair silky on humid days as well. I RARELY finish a bottle of anything for my hair before moving on, but I have with this. I will continue to use it and highly recommend it. I think it's such an underrated product. Use it lightly and with damp hair and you'll love it too.

Awesome for curly hair!!

I have curly/fine/frizzy hair. And I've used the Shaping Control Gel which I don't think they make anymore, but sounds like this is the updated/similar product and I've ordered it so I will update with any changes. But the gel is sticky as well, so a little can go a long way AND definitely put it in while your hair still really wet and brush it through w/ a wet brush. I still use a detangler & light leave-in conditioner, and with a little oil for the ends of my hair. I live in Colorado, so I find it necessary for the super dry climate. When I go home to visit in Georgia, I don't need as much moisturizing product. So maybe just the detangler and the smoothing serum if I were letting my hair air dry & a little oil if I were blow drying in the South. You have to play ... MoreI have curly/fine/frizzy hair. Does job well but too perfumed

Used this product only once but very impressive. Controls frizz extremely well if applied to damp hair and then blow dried. Protects from hair fry. The only downside is the strong perfume. Does dissipate within an hour but can be too much for those with sensitivity.

Humidity Buster!

Love this product! I have naturally curly hair and I regularly blow it out straight. This product is a nice weight and keeps my hair smooth (which is especially nice for those weird wiry gray hairs) and as humidity resistant as possible in the Virginia heat! I do get an annual keratin treatment and this sulfate free product line is compatible and works great. All summer long - no flat iron required. I do wish there was a travel size - I would love to be able to carry it on the plane and not have to transfer it into another container. I definitely would recommend for medium or coarse hair.

Inconsistent Results

Not exactly sure how to feel about this product. I’ve been using about 4 months now, at first I thought it was a game changer for my frizzy wavy/curly hair. For reference my hair is medium-fine and very wavy almost curly, prone to dryness and LOTS of frizz.I usually use all innersense and my hair loves those products but wanted a serum in my routine to combat the frizz specifically and the innersense treatment was sold out at the time so I went with this one. When I first started using this it was pretty humid where I live but it smoothed my hair so well I was almost entirely frizz-free even on day 3 hair. Not great for thick, wavy hair

My stylist recommended Pureology, and, while I love the shampoo/conditioners, this serum fell short. My hair is thick and wavy shoulder length and required three pumps to get anywhere near full coverage. However, it makes my hair hard to style and leaves ir feeling dry. Also no reduction in humidity effects. I much prefer Treseme smoothing serum.

SO UNDERRATED?

I purchased this on a whim and was very impressed with the way that it made my hair look and feel. It decreased my blow-time significantly and made my frizzy, wavy hair incredibly soft and shiny.I was worried at first because the texture is somewhat tacky right out of the bottle, but it quickly disappears into your hair doesn’t leave any residue at all. A little goes a long way for such a lightweight serum. I only use three pumps and my hair is elbow-length.I would highly recommend this to anyone that’s looking for an alternative to the Color WOW Dream Coat Spray.
