Cat had PU surgery after getting blocked 3 times within a few months. He has been on this food ever since he blocked the first time and he loves the food. We feed him the wet food and also the purina UR dry food as a snack/treats. His urine has been mostly clear of crystals since, and he loves the food.Used to feed him blue inddor formula but unfortunately he got crystals from that, so looks like he may be on this food for life. Good thing he loves it!Only negative is the price--- it is a little expensive, but I buy it from Pet360 because they typically have the best price I can find.

The only reason I chose two stars is because my cat wonβt eat it and itβs very expensive. Iβm so frustrated because my cat needs it too save his life. I guess he just doesnβt like the taste.

This food has saved my cat's life several times in his 12 years. He is a maine coon and is prone to developing crystals in his urine. He used to block until he had an operation which opened his urethra. I wrongly assumed this had cured him, because he didn't have a blockage after that. So I started giving him food that he liked once again. Four years after his surgery, even though he didn't block, he started peeing blood because the crystals were scratching him up inside. Once again, he is on this diet and regaining his health. Unfortunately he, and my other cat who is stuck on his diet as well, are incredibly depressed, and don't want to eat or play anymore. I WISH, WISH, WISH that there were more options for better tasting food. I hope somebody can develop ...Β MoreThis food has saved my cat's life several times in his 12 years. I would recommend it to a friend only if their cat needed it for survival.

My cat is addicted to the taste of all Purina foods. This Rx one is no exception. He gobbles it up. However, I'm not convinced it's helping with his urinary issues (and isn't that the point of this sinfully expensive food?). His symptoms & discomforts are the same after 4 months of consistently eating Purina UR st/ox. At least things haven't gotten worse, which is why I will stick with it until I find a better option. The food does cause mild constipation. Sweet potato baby food helps relieve it.My biggest complaint with Purina: every single 5.5oz can is missing 1oz of food! When a can costs nearly $2 I better be getting every drop I paid for. Shame on Purina for shorting us like this.
My cat has been on a prescription diet since 2013 for struvite crystals. We have previously used both Hills CD and RC Urinary SO. My cat has had issues with diarrhea and vomiting with the other 2 brands. We were using RC Urinary SO for about 4 years before they recently started using wheat gluten which made my cat have terrible diarrhea. Since this was the only change to their formula, I am extremely hesitant to feed him anything with wheat gluten, since this is also consistent with other foods that I know has made him have stomach issues in the past (Hills CD and a few others). There are many flavor versions of the Purina Urinary St/Ox, only the regular formula seems to be missing wheat gluten in the ingredient list; so at this point, this is the only food left ...Β MoreMy cat has been on a prescription diet since 2013 for struvite crystals. I have read and heard of so many other complaints about the RC Urinary SO, and I have heard other people say that they are also switching to Purina. Please keep the formula as is.My cat loves this food and we haven't had any issues with struvite crystals since we switched about 5 months ago. I only wish that the dry food version did not have the wheat gluten in the ingredient list, so that we could have a dry food option.
I have been buying products from pet Flow for years. The Purina Pro are necessay as my cat had urinary issues which this product solves. Pet Flow auto delivery works great and is adjustable online at their website' They are great to do business with !
Leo really likes this Purina Vet Urinary Diet dry cat food. He'll eat this when he was refusing to eat other Vet Urinary cat food (wet and dry). I didn't like the smell when I opened it but I'm not the one who has to eat it. Leo and my other cats love it and it increases their water intake which is what they need. Now Leo will also eat a different kind of urinary wet food I got him. I'm pleased with the results!
Carmela has a Urinary problem so the Vet recommended switching to this canned wet food and no dry food! It is working great for Carmela as she is a picky eater and loves this food! She is also loosing weight. She is becoming much more active, too!
I have fed my oldest cat this for 10 years due to crystals. This product works. As much as I hate to pay $45.00 for a 2.72 kg of dry food. It is a lot cheaper than the vet process of getting rid of the crystals. Used to get one free for every 10 bags I bought but that went by the wayside. Full price every bag plus gst and pst.
I rushed my 4yr old cat to the Emergency Vets, he was diagnosed with Struvite Crystals. They sent us home with Science Diet, he refused to eat it. I purchased Royal Canin, he ate it BUT we ran an urinalysis 10 days later and small struvite crystals were seen. We put him on Purina UR and seems much more comfortable and enjoys the food. We will update in 2wks when he's tested again. NOTE: we put the other three cats on the same food to avoid the possibility of the same problem. I was a skeptic about grain in there food. I was feeding them Fromms Grainfree for the past 4yrs, so that blows the grainfree thing out of the water for us. As my vet said, if a cat catches a mouse/chipmunk they eat the meat and the stomach which contains grass and grains. The cost of this food ...Β MoreI rushed my 4yr old cat to the Emergency Vets, he was diagnosed with Struvite Crystals. They sent us home with Science Diet, he refused to eat it. The cost of this food is expensive, but not compared to the 1600.00 we've spent so far at the vets. So far we're pleased!
