I use this for baking (sourdough) bread. It is big enough for a 500g round loaf and performs at least as well as a cast iron casserole for this, giving a good "oven spring", and is light, easy to handle and cheap compared to the alternative. For actual casseroles cast iron has many advantages, but for baking bread, in my opinion, this is the best option.

Great Casserole dish, ideally suited to meals for 2 or 4 people. Deep; making it ideal for chunky casseroles such as Sausage. Lid makes it easily stackable.Strong and reliably for use time and time over.
Good size for casseroles and not to heavy to lift out of oven. Two purchased to add to my 2 Pyrex casseroles purchased about 30 years ago. I'm set up now for batch cooking 4 at a time to help keep energy costs down.
I baked cake on it & it turned out very well. Can fit well inside 17L (small) microwave. Enough for a family of 4-6.
I chose this dish as it was an ideal size to prepare food for my self and my husband and have enough left over to freeze for future use, which is very useful if you are in a hurry.
