I bought this with scepticism based on the hype and the price. But honestly, it been the absolutely best phone holder I have ever owned. It's easy to setup, clicks in every time and is so simple and easy to use. 100% would recommend.

The head arrived and I was very disappointed to find it doesn't work. Tried many combinations of power supplies and cables but absolutely nothing happens. Phone doesn't see anything, let alone take a charge. And by design, the charger has no leds to let you know anything about its status. Took well over a week for after-sales to get back to me and they want me to make and send a video of me trying everything I've already tried. I don't have time for that. I asked for an address to send the unit back for tech-inspection, but that doesn't exist. Pretty much at the point now where I've had enough of QuadLock and will never use again. Very poor experience after a good start... BTW: It's not my phone. The old plastic model charger works perfectly...

I like to wait awhile before I review my purchases. For the last 8 months I’ve been using the Quad Lock wireless charging systems at home, in my truck, and on my Harley.I find my phone charging fairly rapidly when using the Quad Lock charging heads. It’s damn nice to be able to easily clip in and have the phone secure. On the Harley I utilize the anti- vibration gizmo they have and it seems to do the trick (I rode 9000 km last season and used the Quad Lock system the whole time).I found that the clear cover that Quad Lock provides for outdoor use isn’t that great screen sensitivity-wise, had to remove it to use it (but it definitely protects!).My only criticism of Quad Lock- please stop sending emails requesting reviews before I even get the product I ordered. Overall this is pretty good. It does a great job holding and charging my iPhone 11. I have two of these - one in each car. I also use the outdoor version on my motorcycle. The one specific minor complaint I have is the USB C port. It works fine with the provided cable and others with typical straight plugs. So works as designed. But I would have liked to use a 90 degree connector to better hide the wiring. The problem is the port’s design doesn’t allow for a proper connection for a right angle plug. I tried i different ones and none worked.A general complaint I have with Quadlock has to do with their packaging. I have at least one of probably everything they sell (pre mag). I find their packaging a real pain with respect to just opening the box and how they mange screws. The boxes are hard to open and screws often go flying when you start taking stuff out of the box.In the last go around, this device’s screw flew out And fell between car seats. It took me a1/2 hour to find the damn thing.I am a big fan of their products as evidenced by the many hundreds of dollars I’ve spent. I’m not bashing. But I’d love to see a bit more thought put into the packaging and ultimately how they manage their screw mounting on most of their products. Those little screws are generally too short and mostly a pain IMHO. I don’t think I’ve installed a single thing of theirs without wrestling with their screws to get things to fit properly.
I have always been very happy with Quad Lock products and use inductive charging at home. My experience in the car was:(1) Using the map function for navigation heats the battery and after an hour or so a notice comes up that inductive charging has stopped due to heat. So it is best for the occasional telephone call.(2) Unlike other connectors, the case can not be removed from the car mount and so a further case must be bought to continue using it on a bike mount etc. This substantially increases the cost above expectation.(3) In my car the power point is between the driver and passenger seats and the windscreen is further away than some other designs. I do not see it as good value for money.
I had on of those charging thingies where you place the phone on top and then it is supposed to charge just by lying there. That didn’t really work for me since I use a quadlock case that sometimes blocks the induction. So you had to figure out the exact position it hast to lie in order for it to charge. Move it only slightly and you end up with an uncharged phone. I often wished there would be a solution with a suction cup or anything to fix the phone on the pad. When I saw that quadlock now has a charging head that clicks in place and thus forces my phone to charge even with its case on, I immediately bought a kit with a matching desk stand. Now I don’t worry about moving the phone while it charges. What a neat accessory!
It has probably more to do with the technology in general more than the charger. If you drive all day as an Uber driver or on long car trip, it is probably good. But I’m too many scenarios, the unit barely charges the phone or the phone can still discharge just more slowly. That is with a full power charger that is qc3 compatible. So if you’re expecting to charge your phone a respectable amount in a 20-30 minute trip, it’s not going to be helpful, especially if you are going to be using gps with the screen on bright or streaming music. It will just keep your phone from draining rather than charging it.Again, probably has more to do with the limitations of wireless charging than this unit itself. It’s convenient and keeps cable clutter down to a minimum.
Too tight tolerance on the mating part with phone case such thats its difficult to get on/off - no idea how you could use that with the desk mount. As is i was adapting it to dash mount on my car and took extensive modification taking off the back to be able to fit it since the ballmount just wasnt going to be good with the options i have.Should have a re-design of the back to allow flat-mounting on car dashes that allow it.Also cant see how it would work with many of the other mounts. Website needs to be clearer for all products on which parts are interroperable - because many of my recent quadlock purchases have been a disappointment. Both my pushbike and motorbike have the older bike mount which was good but turns out cant work with the antibibration mount - ... MoreToo tight tolerance on the mating part with phone case such thats its difficult to get on/off - no idea how you could use that with the desk mount. The mount isnt the issue i have, went on a 3000km round trip and had constant issues with the mount sticking to the windscreen of my new car. both the windscreen and mount were clean and kept unsticking and falling off. Obviusly due to australias climate with hot wether and possibly humidity. I feel the actual mount is quite heavy adding to the issue. Also the part where you rotate and tighten the suction cup isnt as effective as i had hoped. Given ive spent over $200 on your products (motorbike mount and wireless charging kits etc.) i have instead purchased the airvent adapter. Hopefully this wont fail me by "unsticking", Just not sure what to do with the windscreen mount ill no longer be using it. Motorcycles aren't the only places that one finds RAM mounts for phones. I, for example, use one in my Tahoe and at my desk as well, to keep the phone up off of desktop level. It takes a little ingenuity, but I was able to adapt this mount to accept a RAM ball, and more important, not spin around when trying to mount/dismount the phone. Additionally, this charger, like the first (same version) that I bought, would not allow the phone case to turn and lock in until I exerted an extreme effort. I'm not a small guy at 6' and over 250 lbs., and it took all my strength to get the phone mounted the first time. Apparently, that broke loose a burr or sticky component in the mount's locking system. After that, I was able to mount/dismount the phone with normal effort. Quad Lock, you need to look into your outgoing QC.Now that I've adapted the mount to a RAM ball and dealt with the initial mount/dismount difficulties, it's the best charging mount I've used to date. Fix those two issues, Quad Lock, and you have a mount that would score 10 stars if I could award them.
