As it is with me navy blue version of this jacket, the orange one is just as brilliant. I already took this model out to Iceland and Spitsbergen last year. In March 2024 I'll be going to Antarctica and in June I'll be returning to Spitsbergen. I won't be having issues with this jacket. It's awesome, keeps very warm and comfy, has plenty of air possibilities and.... can be packed really tight of you squeeze out all the air efficiently.

Had the opportunity to finally try my Infinity Alpine yesterday. Was heading up to 14,000 ft. Once we got above tree line the wind picked up to roughly 40 mph with stronger gusts. Temp was about 9 degrees at 13k ft not factoring in the wind.I was wearing a very thin baslayer with a thin gridded fleece. Through my Infinity on and instantly it stopped the wind and warmed me up. We hunkered down behind a huge Boulder as the wind gusts were too strong to summit.Love the jacket. Excellent addition to my kit.I’m 5’9” w/ athletic build I bought an xl and it fits perfect.

Finally found a company that makes a down jacket designed to get a little rough with. While i wouldnt use it as an outer layer for things like skiing, this is a fantastic jacket for outdoor activities in very cold weather. The tougher fabric on higher abrasion areas is exactly what I've been looking for. This jacket is incredibly warm. I havent had the chance to test it out in extreme cold yet but, based on the fact that it's way too hot for anything above freezing I feel confident I'll stay warm in all weather.

This is a really nice jacket. It has a very thoughtful, functional design and is warmer than the level of insulation would suggest (no doubt due to the Infinium fabric, which really does block out the elements). Everything is really well thought out, from the hood design to the arm articulation, to the hem adjustment. It’s designed as a climbing jacket, but works just as well as a winter backpacking/travel jacket when you want something that will keep you cosy and can stand up to strong winds and a bit of rain and sleet. Wouldn’t change much—maybe just the zippers on the hand pockets, which don’t run quite as smoothly as the other zippers. But that might just be my jacket, rather than a design issue.
The Infinity Alpine Down Jacket is my go to puffy layer in harsh winter environments. When pack weight/size matter for skiing or alpinism. I'm generally not a fan of combining Gore-Tex and down insulation in a jacket because I feel the two are mutually exclusive. However the GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER really does cut the wind without the outer fabric feeling like traditional Gore-Tex. I'd highly recommend this jacket for any alpinist, ice climber, skier or mountaineer looking to stay warm.
Love this jacket. Supper light weight and very comfortable. Shipping was quick. The pockets feel very warm. 5’-10” 180 lbs large fits great.
This appears to be a great jacket. I have yet to use it out in the wild, but in a quick backyard test it is noticeably windproof. I'm 6'1" and the Med fits me well. It is reasonably snug when I wear it as a belay jacket over my mid layer and shell. Its roomy and comfortable worn on its own.The build quality is high, as with other RAB products. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a down jacket with a strong windproof outer material.
I’ve had this jacket for little over a year now and it still rocks. It’s kept me warm on 14k foot peaks and while sitting around at camp. I don’t ever feel the wind and rarely the cold. Last night sitting on a log in the snow wearing only my Ascendor Summit Hoody w/ no baselayer in -8 degree (F) I felt no cold. I was warm! Nothing like an awesome down jacket! I’m 5’9” w/ and athletic build and I wear an XL.
Was looking for a new warm down winter jacket that could handle poor British winter weather. The legendary Valiance jacket was first option but then I saw this. I’ve had the grey/ black version for a couple of weeks. It looks great, is made the the usual high Rab standard, and is super warm. I’ve been wearing synthetic insulated jackets; they are great but in my experience can’t match the warmth of down when it gets really cold. Ok, the Infinity Alpine Down isn’t fully waterproof like the Valiance, but it is more breathable and is more than capable of handling most of the damp wet weather we get many days in Scotland. And the medium size fits me perfectly, whereas I found the Valiance a slightly more relaxed, slightly baggy fit. Depends what you’re looking for, but ... MoreWas looking for a new warm down winter jacket that could handle poor British winter weather. i have been looking around at multiple options to get a new warm jacket that keeps me warm at freezing temperatures. i have the green/zest and it's really beautiful. fits nicely. it feels strong but weighs nothing, esp. compared to a tack of fleeces i would be using alternatively to keep me as warm. the cuffs are indeed tight but that's ok to keep the warmth in. the hood is perhaps a little tight but OK without helmet. i don't really understand how a helmet could fit in without lifting the entire jacket (didnt try though). i do have a rather head:) Really happy with this jacket!
