Race Face Atlas Cinch Crankset - Black

(137 reviews)

The Race Face Atlas Crank is the most overbuilt that the company produces. It can handle anything and everything, but it is designed to be used and abused until it is ground to dust sometime in the next millennium. It starts with the 30mm aluminum alloy spindle and Cinch mounting platform that you ll find across their line. It then adds on two machined aluminum crankarms that are brutally strong. It s not only the pedaling and g forces they can withstand, but the grinding, slamming crashes that are part and parcel of riding out too far on the edge. The crank comes with two arms, spider, pre-load adjuster and lock ring. You need to source the bottom bracket and either direct mount chain ring or 104/64mm or 120/80mm spider (available in both standard and Boost spacing). It also can be setup for BMX with a BMX spindle and 104mm spider. If you want to go with super Boost or wider bottom brackets, wider spindles are available. So, too, is a Cinch power meter spider. Crank lengths are 165, 170, and 175mm.

One of the only affordable cranksets I could get in 165mm. It's shocking how many entry level cranksets only come in 170, 175mm and that's it! Like somewhere along the
way bike cranks became one size fits all for the average rider. These come in cool colors too, so I like them. Not the lightest cranks for a gavel bike, but at least I know these
won't fail on me.

A nice light well built set of crank arms. And in some interesting colors. With the Raceface CINCH crank gear mounting, which is super easy to use (if you have the spline drive
tool). But, the cranks have a slightly sharp inner edge,,, Raceface machining didn't round that off before annodizing? disappointing, usually their finish is really good.

Great cranks but.....
13 May 2022
Love the cranks! (and the colors!) However I've had two issues, the cranks regularly came loose so I had to cover them inn loctite, this issue could probably be solved with spacers. Issue two was the plastic preload adjuster. I bought a helm preload that is metal and works great, but the cranks were almost $200, the fact that ANY component was plastic is extremely disappointing. I solved both issues and am pretty happy with the cranks, just the little things... Show more

My new cranks look great on my bike. Ordering was simple and quick from Cambria. The website is easy to navigate and Cambria is quick to fulfill orders. I will definitely do business with them again and will recommend anyone to also check Cambria out for their bicycle needs.... Show more

Only cranks I ride... Period.

I will be honest, I generally don't take the time to write reviews, but with the amount of time and abuse I've put these things through, I should probably take a minute and share. To start, I've been running RF cranks off and on since 2002. I started on a set of North Shore DH cranks and they were practically faultless. Fast forward to today, where I've ridden dozens of different styles and brands, finally settling with the atlas. I made the switch from RF SixC cranks, which were amazing cranks, but just couldn't last the test if time or the abuse of DH racing. Unfortunately several sets have met their demise under me. RF has been amazing in their rider support, and always kept me going. RF has been amazing in their rider support, and always kept me going. Eventually I decided to make the switch back to alloy, and landed on a set of Atlas. I've had the same set for the past two seasons. I've broken a frame, countless wheels, and a couple sets of handlebars in that time. The cranks showing their battle scars, but are as true as the day I bolted them on. I have a second set sitting in my garage as a backup getting covered in a thick layer of dust, and at this point are more of a decoration. My one complaint if I had to say is the preload collar is nylon. I would love to see am alloy version, and would gladly pay the premium for one, even as an add on.Overall these get 5 stars for their simplicity is design, ease of installation and maintenance, and good looks.... The shorter cranks are definitely
25 April 2022
The shorter cranks are definitely easier on the knees and a lot fewer peddle strikes but it sould come with a 1mm spindle spacer or two. The preload adjuster needed to be turned until there was only one thread left engaged. Seems to be holding but I would have prefered a little tighter fit between the cranks and BB, spacers would solve that problem at virtually no cost and give you an additional option to adjust the chainline. Thanks Gord... I was looking for a 30mm spindle crank for a frame build out and I was thinking about shelling out for another Hope crankset when I decided to go with the Atlas.I had a set of Turbine Cinch cranks a few years ago and they were pretty good but the Hope was better.I have to say that the Atlas was easy to install and has been absolutely trouble free since I bought it.If you are thinking about going for this setup I wouldn't hesitate as the build quality here is really good and the cranks have stood up to Arizona terrain which is rocky with a side of rocky and rocky sauce on top.I went for 170mm crank length here and that measly 5mm difference over your standard 175mm length has been eye opening. The plan is to acquire another Atlas crankset for my Warden as I ... MoreI was looking for a 30mm spindle crank for a frame build out and I was thinking about shelling out for another Hope crankset when I decided to go with the Atlas.I had a set of Turbine Cinch cranks a few years ago and they were pretty good but the Hope was better.I have to say that the Atlas was easy to install and has been absolutely trouble free since I bought it.If you are thinking about going for this setup I wouldn't hesitate as the build quality here is really good and the cranks have stood up to Arizona terrain which is rocky with a side of rocky and rocky sauce on top.I went for 170mm crank length here and that measly 5mm difference over your standard 175mm length has been eye opening. The plan is to acquire another Atlas crankset for my Warden as I really like it.Dumb vanity point - being able to mix and match narrow wide chain rings in different colors with the cranks is a plus as well...
