Almost perfect
Love the cool blue color, double zip, wrist elastic bands, and longer back. Waist tie is nice touch for a little shape. It's a keeper, just not totally perfect. My friendly suggestions are to seal the pockets with a flap or zipper (I foresee water getting in there), and maybe make the hood a little less ginormous. Even with my large noggin, it's a lot, obstructs my view a bit. Length of jacket is great, arms are nice and long, which I love. I'm size 8/10, 5 ft 7 in, 160 lb, and large is proper size. Can fit sweaters underneath, which is good b/c it's thin.... Show more

Classic simple sexy silhouette.
I love the drape and the back trench coat panel. Love the cuff being wide. Very good looking. I had to tie up the hem strings because I'm only 5'4". I plan to use it for country and city hiking. I'm hoping I don't tear it in the woods. It seems warm but I haven't tried below 55F yet. So far, so good. I won't give it a higher score because I haven't given it a good workout yet.... Show more

Cute and Nice Quality
I actually bought a Medium and Large because I wasn't sure which size to get based off of the reviews - some said it ran small others said true to size, so I wanted to see for myself. I'm 5'11" and about 180lbs, so I go between M and L, and I ended up going with a Large for this jacket. The Medium fit me well in certain areas, but was tight in my hips so I opted for the Large, especially since I want to be able to layer underneath this jacket. The material is nice and definitely seems like it will be a good raincoat. There is a bit of a funky smell, but I assume it's just because it's a synthetic material and it doesn't bother me that much. The color is super cute and will go with a lot of Fall tones. I probably wouldn't buy this at full price but on sale it's great.... Show more

Excellent quality and functionality
I really have to give this the highest of accolades especially because of some of the negative reviews. I am 5'8 and 150 lbs with 41 inch hips. I bought the medium because it was the only one available. I was afraid it was going to be too small but the fit is exactly spot on. There is absolutely no smell to the jacket at all. The hood fits perfectly with a visor for even better protection and it goes to my knees. Just to be careful I won't be using the snaps by themselves as that's why I think some people are saying the snaps pull away from the fabric. You're supposed to use the zipper first. REgardless, shopping with Nordstrom gives you the ability to return things is they are defective even a year later so I'm not worried about that.... Show more

Good quality raincoat - recommend sizing up
I really liked the jacket but had to return it to size up (no exchanges, returns only, and costly to return). Now, the bigger size is no longer available. Hoping to be notified of new stock soon.Went for the drawstring parka for a bit more shape, but with a more fitted size, the material will bunch awkwardly when you use the drawstring. Baggier is better I think. As a result, if I were to do it over again, I might go for the shorter jacket on offer with the rain trousers (which I bought at the same time and kept). Added benefit of being better for cycling.... Show more

Great style with minor faults
I really like the style of this product, it's already my second coat from Rains. However, the quality is not 100% (from both of my coats some details fell off/went broken quickly - it doesn't affect the overall appearance of the product though). They have a new sizing for women; I went with an M and would say it's a true fit. However, if as a woman you want more of an oversized fit I would probably recommend a bigger size.... Show more

Great, timeless raincoat
I like the drawstring at the waist so you still have some shape while wearing a very practical raincoat. You can als just close it with the strings when you are in a hurry or when you need some ventilation. I love the fishtail model and the panel at the back because it gives some edge to a basic clothing piece.Con: I would have liked that at least one zippered pocket to keep small items like phone and earphones dry and secure.Sizing: True to size, if you have wider hips and you are between sizes, I would size up.... I love my new red raincoat & black floppy hat.
I sized up in the raincoat - I prefer a looser fit. The jacket is lightweight, so it helps to have extra room in case you want to layer the raincoat with a sweatshirt underneath. I prefer the floppy rain hat - it provides more protection than the bucket hat if you’re looking to be outside - especially on dog walks! My first Rains raincoat I purchased around 10 years ago, so I’m hoping these products last just as long!... Show more

Looks great and the fabric is awesome but the pockets need improvement
I love the coat except the pockets. They open vertically so you can’t put anything in them at all. Most wet weather gear has pockets with vertical openings to put your hands in and a top opening to put stuff in. This coat needs that - there’s nowhere to put my phone or keys! Everything else is perfect.... Show more

Totally worth it!
I needed a long waterproof coat and this one is worth the price! I’m usually between the sizes 10/12 in jackets and coats and opted for size M. It is a perfect fit with enough room for warmer layers underneath. I’m approx 5’1 so it is much longer for me than on pics but I am pleased with that. You can unzip the coat from the bottom to have a better movement - great solution!Rains always have a really nice shades and the black one is lovely. If I could change one thing - I would add slightly deeper pockets or add zips to them.Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. I already have a short jacket from Rains and after a couple of years it looks like a brand new. Hope the same will be with my parka.... Show more
