Good fit definitely more on the relaxed side which is what I was looking for (item still hugs the body well in all areas just not a “skin tight fit”). Breathable mesh on shoulders is a nice touch very light weight and breathable. Enjoy this bib sith a classic jersey on long distance, relaxed pace rides. Has nice reflective strips on thigh nice safety features built into item. Elastic thigh huggers are a bit on the bulkier side so stay away from it if you are looking for a race fit it is a classic fit true to its Name.

Really like the pro training tights. Am riding solo and in a good group, 60-80 miles 15mph rides avg terrain includes long mountains and seaside windy pulls. Age 60, 170lb 5’9 , 32 in waist, took size M. Wearing them in 3C-15C temp range. They provide right amount of cool weather comfort, the legs stay loose and can spin long at fast rate as well as deal with the steep inclines, all without overheating. Can wear less on top but still stay loose. Can stop in the cafe without puddling and then easily resume the ride. These are lighter in insulation than fleece knee warmers but the overall wind blocking while allowing the right amount of ventilation through the fabric makes them very suitable for 4hr riding in above-freezing and in windy conditions. Let’s start with what I like about these bibs. The fit below the waist is good. The leg grippers work. The fabric works well below the waist. The same fabric is used in the suspenders, which is what I don’t like. It has seams on both sides of the suspenders. At 6 foot, the size large suspenders are too short, And the same fabric that is used throughout the bibs, are not stretchy enough for suspenders. The Rapha name is Black on the leg, and a white tag on the suspenders. Shouldn’t those colors be reversed.

Great quality bib shorts. The mesh area on the shoulders are nice and stretchy similar to the Pro Bibs. The lycra material is excellent. It is just the grippers that are not as comfortable as the other shorts I own (Pro Team bib, Core bib). They are way to thicker than needs to be. The core bib minimal grippers seem to work just fine. Is the price justified being 2x the cost of a core bib? I don't think so. Probably 30-40% better than the core bibs. Love the dark navy color.
I’m new to cycling and these are my first ‘real’ set of bibs, for which I mean, non-amazon cycling shorts. I was a little nervous about the fit when ordering but I think they fit me well. I’m 5’10”, 195lbs, 33” pant waist and 41-42” chest. I have a bit of a dad bod… I went with the medium and it fits well. I do not have any issues with the thighs as some suggest but I have muscular(?) or average thighs. Overall I’m happy and will be buying another set from Rapha when needed.
This is my third set of Classic bibs but my first since the redesign. The good is that the material and fit are the same as the old bibs-that is to say perfect. They feel great on the skin and are very comfortable. The bad is the new leg and leg grippers. I like my bibs fairly long but these are at least 1.5 inches longer. They are approaching knickers! I have to roll the grippers under to make them fit correctly. The new grippers are much wider which makes them more difficult to put on as your toe frequently "grabs" the wider design instead of sliding past. A small inconvenience but still irritating. I am not sure why the legs were redesigned but I will not buy another pair until they undo their fix
First, I’ve been buying Rapha gear for over ten years, Rapha has made a lot of stuff I loved and a few things I didn’t like. I expected more from these bibs, straight up. Fit is pretty good, I’m 5’11” 170 lbs. the chamois pad is pretty good, comfy, I would’ve of liked to see a higher quality chamois with better fitment to my under carriage area. I like the additional storage located in the bib. The wide shoulder straps were a new feel for me, but they fit good. I’ve ridden my bibs probably 5 times, wear and pilling has already developed on the butt surface of the bib. For the price, I’m disappointed in this. I would have expected Rapha to use a better wearing material, especially for their “classic” bib which is suppose to be a heavier, long wearing product. The ... I would have expected Rapha to use a better wearing material, especially for their “classic” bib which is suppose to be a heavier, long wearing product. The seat I’m riding is the Brooks Cambium C17, the material is an atypical fabric, but still I would expect the bibs to have worn better. That particular saddle should not be an issue, it hasn’t been an issue with any other bibs I have. I will continue to ride these and see how the fair... because they are classics and guaranteed, I will consider returning them. Kindly
My new old favorites. I’ve had a pair of classic bib shorts for more than a decade. Mostly took them out for “special” rides, preferring a couple of pairs of lighter weight and more lightly padded bibs from another trusty brand. But lately I’ve been turning to these more on my every day rides. I wasn’t won over by the thickness and location of the pad for a long while. But recently find that location and pad thickness are actually perfect, despite my initial impressions. Now, the only thing that’s changed is me - size, age, power, preferred routes. We’re these perfect the whole time? Probably. I ordered a fresh pair recently. If anything the quality has improved. I do wish Rapha would offer a long-inseam version for these or the Core short like they do in the Pro ... MoreMy new old favorites. I’ve had a pair of classic bib shorts for more than a decade. We’re these perfect the whole time? Probably. I ordered a fresh pair recently. If anything the quality has improved. I do wish Rapha would offer a long-inseam version for these or the Core short like they do in the Pro Team. (I have long femurs. Inseam will be just fine for you…) For that matter, it would be super helpful to have inseam measurements on the product page… So, it took a minute, but these are my every day bib now. Because isn’t every ride special?
The new wide leg grippers are absolutely terrible. I've always loved every piece of kit I've purchased from Rapha, but I will never purchase these bibs again. Everything about the bibs is great as usual, except the leg grippers. Overly wide grip band does not grip the leg correctly. The leg ends up looking like a "bacon collar" and fits entirely too loosely around the thigh. It marginally conforms better mid way through a ride, perhaps once the kit warms up? It's not a sizing issue, I've had multiple pairs of bibs in my size that fit perfectly well, but these bibs just don't fit well in the leg due to the new leg grippers. These bibs are not the quality I've come to expect from Rapha, and I will not purchase again.
These bibs are excellent. The fit seems to have changed to be more snug or close fitting in the past couple of years (I'm comparing that to my 2 year old Rapha bibs, so I'm pretty sure it's you that has changed, not me) which I think will be OK. The pad seems to be one of the most comfortable available. It seems that the small pocket in the back (just large enough for a car fob or a few handy wipes) has been eliminated. It was nice to have. Otherwise, all good.
