Rapha's Core Jersey is the trusted choice of cyclists around the world for any kind of riding. But for the hottest days, Rapha have created a lighter, brighter cousin: the Core Lightweight Jersey. With the fit and features of the original, they’ve introduced two ultralight fabrics to bring Core comfort and performance to sweltering rides in hot and humid conditions. The front makes use of a highly breathable, lightweight mesh to promote airflow and regulate body temperature, with a denser knit fabric on the back for protection from the sun. Throughout, the same signature finishing touches that define the Core collection are present, with three gusseted pockets that expand to carry all your riding essentials, subtle logos and a signature armband. The lighter weight fabrics dry quickly so you’ll never catch a chill, the full-length zip adds on-the-go adjustability, and a wide elastic gripper to keep your jersey secure. NB – always wear sunscreen with mesh fabrics. The Core range has a slightly more relaxed fit. If you’re unsure which size will offer you the most comfort, the updated size guides can help you find the perfect size.

Excellent Summer Jersey for the price

This is an excellent summertime jersey for hot and humid weather. Living in Iowa, it gets pretty warm in June onward so I decided to buy the Core Lightweight jersey. It is super light and breathes nicely, letting the air come through the jersey to help stay cool. I like it so much I bought a second one in the neon pink which is really sharp. I then bought a Classic Flyweight jersey in black, but I have to say, for the money, I prefer he Core Lightweight jersey. I don't see the need to pay more for almost the same thing. I'm 6' 205lbs and wear the XXL because I like my jerseys to be a little loose because it helps me stay cool. My only quibble is the available colors, I wish it came in some kind of off-white color. For hot and humid conditions, this is my go-to jersey.

I found out about the Rapha brand while on a century ride (100 miles) from a friend I rode with last year. I asked him how he liked the brand and decided to try it out for myself. I couldn’t be happier with the jerseys and shorts that I have purchased! I have two pairs of each and love them! They are stylish, fit comfortably, and they are worth the premium cost. I found in a lot of brands that hype that they are the “best” and that once I’ve lived with them for about a year that I find myself finding things that I didn’t like about them or decide that I wouldn’t buy them again. I am only about 6-10 months into this brand and will provide an update, but at this point I have high hopes.

I like this jersey a lot. Great look and feel. I am a little concerned about the quality of the zipper. I am having some troubles with it but only time will tell if it is a problem. But I do have some concerns about the quality of it. Also, I am not sure about the make up of the lower portion of the jersey that grips lower part of torso or waist. It does not look like the best of quality and it is a design I am not used to but again, time will tell. But again, I like the fit and look of the jersey..

Great product, but the fit...
3 July 2023

I like the jersey. The material is great with good stretch, nice rubberized rear tail to keep from inching up, and well constructed. The fit isn't great, though. On me, the jersey is very tight in the waist and loose in the chest. My body is more pear shaped than the slim models the jersey is obviously designed for. I would very much appreciate another line of clothing that used the same material and overall design, but proportioned for those who aren't as slim and trim.

I was skeptical, but quality is nice for the price
23 May 2022

TLDR: I'm 5' 6", 145 lbs, with narrow waist, wide chest, and fairly muscular build (38.5" chest and 30" waist for reference). Small was skin-tight but perfect length; medium was still decently close-fitting, but a bit long for my height (e.g. bunching of material around the waist in riding position). Details:Sleeves (small and medium): If you have some muscle, you will appreciate that the sleeves are not super-tight (they fit well on me). They are fairly short in length, unlike the "aero" sleeves on most jerseys these days. I approve. It's a more classic jersey look. If you have skinny, t-rex arms, they might be too loose for you.Overall: I ended up buying the size small and basically turning this "semi-fitted" jersey into one that works as a race fit/form-fit ... MoreTLDR: I'm 5' 6", 145 lbs, with narrow waist, wide chest, and fairly muscular build (38.5" chest and 30" waist for reference). If you have skinny, t-rex arms, they might be too loose for you.Overall: I ended up buying the size small and basically turning this "semi-fitted" jersey into one that works as a race fit/form-fit jersey on me. The problem with most jerseys I've tried is that I would need to buy a medium or large (due to chest size) and then have extra length and bunching of material around the waist when in the riding position. It's a compromise. Somehow the material Rapha uses is a lot more flattering of imperfections (even when stretched a bit) than many other jerseys I tried, particularly in the under $100 price bracket. Not sure how they do it.MISC: I was resistant to buying a Rapha jersey because I tend to avoid brands that are perceived as overly stylish/fashionable. That said, this was by far the best-feeling and fitting jersey among the many I've tried in recent times at reasonable prices. I think Rapha are providing a lot of quality for the money in this model. Especially with a 20% off coupon from REI. The Navy color is simple and understated. I wish they had other understated color choices.Notes on the brand: They seem to offer repair services for their clothes and even offer 50% off if you lose weight and need to buy a smaller size. So, despite their painfully stylish perception, I think I might (reluctantly) be a Rapha wearer now.

My first purchase of Rapha gear
10 September 2024

Bought this lightweight jersey to use on hot summer days. This jersey has not disappointed as it has excellent sweat wicking characteristics and is currently my choice in my collection for the hotter weather. Looking forward to buying future Rapha gear. This was my first Rapha purchase online and I did have to return one jersey which did not fit but he Rapha support team was very responsive and my refund was prompt.

Nice Fit But More Suited for Cooler Weather
17 May 2024

Nice fit but more suited for cooler weather because the collar comes up a bit high and the sleeves are not quite long enough. This is a personal preference and not a criticism. I'll wear this for Winter rides with a base layer or arm warmers. I do like the material and the color. The fit is perfect and material is nice.

Nice but could improve with better material choice
16 December 2021

Simple and nice looking. Very classic option in my wardrobe. Evergreen and plainly nice. Def not boring but not having wow factor either. As mentioned by others, the arm sleeve is a bit loose fitting. If you're looking for a sleeve that will grip your arm, this ain't the product for you. The material could be of better quality, given the price point. There are other brands who can compete with Rapha at this price point that can offer better material quality. That's for sure. But a jersey aint only about material. The overall design and branding are important too. That's why I am giving only 4 stars for this product. If this ain't Rapha, probably I'll give 3 stars. Regardless, this will be a great jersey for casual coffee ride.

Nice but zipper is not good.
11 June 2024

I like the design of the jersey but it seems to be a bit small for its size compared to two other new Rapha jersey's that I have. Pretty cool in hot weather. Pocket lay out is. The zipper is pretty terrible and cheap. It is very hard to get the zipper started and then takes two hands to move it up or down. I would not buy this model again because of the zipper.
