Rare Beauty Lip Souffle Matte Lip Cream (Courage)

I really wanted to love this product - and initially I did! The formula is smooth and, while it doesn't dry down entirely and it's not transfer proof, it's really comfortable. However, throughout the day it started feathering (despite my putting on lip liner) and literally peeling off of my lips (see photo from 5:14 this afternoon). I do have dry lips but plenty of my other matte lipsticks don't do this (Milani, Flower Beauty, even the NYX Smooth Whip lipstick, and that one doesn't dry down entirely either). Additionally the color is described as a deep wine and, while it does appear that way when I swatched it on my hand, it definitely looks more pink or magenta on my lips (the third photo shows the swatches on the Sephora app compared to my own). This is Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in the shade, Wonder. This is my all time favorite lip tint. This is a very long-lasting tint and the color still stay even after I’ve eaten. I enjoy the fact that Wonder is cool-toned and leans toward a more “berry” shade. However, it’s not entirely purple and still remains a nice cool-pink. The consistency is smooth but not sticky. There isn’t really a strong scent but it is a bit minty. My favorite part of this product is that it is a 2-in-1. It can be used as a stain which you can wipe off and apply a gloss over, or you can even use it as is because of how hydrating the formula is. I also quite like the feel of the applicator as well. Beautiful, but must prep your lips!

I was so torn between this lip soufflé matte cream lipstick or the bullet lipstick. I went with this one because there was a color called “energize” that I wanted so badly bc it was so different than the other colors I had. I was highly disappointed when there was no option to purchase that color. Not sure what happened there, but there was a similar color called watermelon pink that was the closest to the shade I wanted. Anyway, I’ve tried this color a few times and I do like the color, but was SO tempted to buy the colors I’m usually drawn to, like Courage, Fearless, and Confident. This is a big deal bc this is supposed to be a long wearing formula and matte, so as you wear it, if you have any dryness or texture on your lips, about an hour or so in, you’ll see that texture. *read to the end for the best self exfoliating method w/ 2 ingredients!*. I know some reviews say this is a comfortable formula to wear, but that’s only true if your lips are texture free and not dehydrated. My favorite “chapstick” is Aquaphor, but I think that would add too much shine and take away from the matte finish so I would suggest either using something thick like Aquaphor 30 mins-an hour prior to applying. I would say a simple tube chapstick that doesn’t add any shine would be the best bet unless you just have naturally hydrated lips (if that’s you, I’m jealous!). SoIf have texture free, hydrated lips, this formula will work beautifully on you and you need no prep, but that’s pretty unrealistic. Once you get(Or have) hydrated, texture free lips, this formula will look beautiful and will last easily 3-4 hours without it spreading from rubbing your lips together, feathering or transferring after it’s been on for about 15 mins and you can reapply easily (again, hydrated and texture free). Nice for a matte blotted lip!

I love the Ascend bright fuchsia color! Such a nice change from a classic red lip. It’s matte, but not super dry on the lips. It does transfer and bleeds without liner. I get a better blotted lip look with this (smudge with fingers and blot with tissue) than I do with bullet type lipsticks. I also bought and immediately returned the Confidence shade because that made me look like a corpse! Like I put concealer on my already pale lips. Anyway I’d try some other colors if Rare Beauty expands the shades in this product!

I am obsessed with Rare Beauty's lip souffles. They are moisturizing, smooth out the lips, and deliver beautiful pigment. I haven't experienced any feathering. Also so easy to apply and reapply! They are not particularly long-lasting, but very easy to take on the go and touch up even without a mirror.Kindness is one of my go-to's because its a great pinky nude for my skin tone (light medium/medium). It is kind of on the verge of washing me out, so if you have a slightly darker skin tone than me and you want a true nude, a different shade may work better. Fearless is also a great nude shade for my skin tone.Also obsessed with Strengthen for a bold, deep red lip. This color is buildable. Returned - Colour way too brown

Let me just say, I LOVE Rare Beauty's Lip Souffle Matte Cream Lipstick. I love it so much, I own it in 3 shades - Confident, Heroic, and Transform.I love the colour payoff, I love the matte cream formula. I cannot tell you how much I love this lipstick. I feel like I've tried almost every lipstick on the market, trying to find something that's "me".I have a neutral undertone, and I can wear both warm and cool shades. And I tend to love mauve shades. But this was so brown on me, I couldn't see the mauve. (Full disclosure, I'm not loving this season's obsession with all shades of brown). But, I'm 100% sure it will look lovely on someone. It just wasn't my cup of tea. I returned it.

Sample: extremely drying and tastes like sunscreen

I really love Rare Beauty products! I was looking for a lip colour to compliment my Nearly Mauve melting blush, and almost bought the full size product because the reviews were mainly very good. Then I noticed Courage lip soufflé matte was available in the Bazaar for 100 pts. so I picked that up to try first. It arrived today. It’s an extremely tiny sample but definitely enough to try a few times. My lips were prepped with Dior Lip Serum + Dior Lip Maximizer (love love love!) and very hydrated. I layered the Courage lip soufflé on top. First, it literally tastes like sunscreen to me. I’m very fickle about lipstick that tastes of fragrance or sunscreen. Yuck. Not for me. Sadly, I’ll never know because I’m not paying good money to test a full size. Such a shame. I was super excited for this new product!

Velvety Smooth Matte with Intense Color Payoff

Rare Beauty's Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream is an absolute dream! The formula is incredibly lightweight and velvety, gliding onto my lips effortlessly without drying them out. The matte finish is soft and smooth, yet still vibrant and bold in color. It’s long-lasting without feeling heavy or cakey, and the pigmentation is stunning—just one swipe delivers a rich, full coverage. It’s comfortable to wear all day and keeps my lips feeling soft. This is hands down one of the best matte lip products I’ve tried!

Very little product

I bought this lipstick about 6 weeks ago and its already out. I liked it at first, it always seemed kind of light in pigment, but it went on very smooth. I was complaining recently that it seemed like it was out already. I do not use much makeup and probably only used this about 12 times. My daughter took the plastic filter thing off and looked inside the tube with a flashlight. There was nothing left. I'm not sure if this is how all of the tubes are or if I just got a defective one. The applicator also looks like it was shaved off on two sides. I just thought that was the way it was until I saw the online pictures of the applicator.

Why did I not get this earlier?

I think the caption speaks for itself. Sure the whole world is on RB’s lip oil but for some reason after looking at swatches and reviews i wasnt really tempted to get. But the matte souffle did catch my attention. But choosing the shade that suits me was Tough. After much thinking and more re-thinking i decided on Confident. My daily go-to look is honestly basic- foundation, concealer, blusher and lip color. No heavy eye makeup. And i wanted a lip shade that is pale but bright but not too bold, for work. Soft, pretty. Application. The doe foot applicator is awesome, easy to apply, pat, swipe, blend. Texture is creamy enough. To test how it magnifies my fine lips i applied without lip balm- feels a little dry but typically i would apply lip balm and blot excess. ... MoreI think the caption speaks for itself. RB’s website describes it as a rosy mauve and it is exactlyit. Not too rosy that pulls red or pink nor only mauve that pulls purplish. Makes a pop of color, not too bold but so pretty! My new HG.
