The Pi 4 does not boot with the the SD card from my Raspberry Pi 3. The image is Raspian Buster so I thought that it would work fine. The Pi 4 boots perfectly using a fresh Raspberry Pi OS install, but I was hoping to start out with all of the the nifty customization that is already working well on my Pi 3 image. The Pi 4's boot up speed and browser responsiveness is excellent. Libre Office and local printing work fine. The Geekworm passive heat sink case works fine for me, and the max temperature that I have seen is 61C. I like to set up the Pi so it runs VNC Server, and then operate it from my laptop. I have not yet tried the 64 bit version of the OS. I bought the 8GB Pi, but 4GB would probably be enough for me and for almost all users. By the way, my first install used a random old 32GB SD card, and the initial update on the first boot took 75 minutes. But when I used a SanDisk 32GB Extreme Pro, the same update completed in less than 15 minutes. Spend a few buck for a well rated card. Vilros filled my order promptly, and they were the only supplier that had 8GB Pi's when I placed my order.

It's a Pi. It's small, about the size of a credit card. It has a few USB ports, a bit of RAM, a processor, and some GPIO pins. It's the loosest definition of a computer in this day and age, it's used for a million different hobbyist projects, and it's nearly impossible to find. There's a whole website dedicated to pinging the inventories of known Pi sellers and displaying who has them in stock and for how much, and ThePiHut was one of the few stores not charging an arm and a leg over MSRP (or massive shipping and handling fees to send this little hunk of silicon and conductive tracing across the pond to the US).Thanks for helping me advance my hobby, PiHut. Powerful, flexible, reasonably easy to set up and use and with lots of available support, are lots of fun, too. You do need good cooling with this one, though.

The Pi is a tight fit and has to be pushed into place with a loud click - whatever happened to screws? You MUST fit the feet else the case slides off the desk due to the cable weight.The monitor cable is long enough though the Pi end connector is very silly due to the size and it would help if they marked which port the cable is to go in.Power supply is hard to remove from the socket (I have circulation problems and poor grip) due to it being a smooth surface.The SD Card was great - surprised to get a 32Gb one provided as I expected a 16Gb TBH. First order from PI Hut. Saw someone recommend them on a YouTube channel. I have an Arcade1Up cabinet and wanted to customise it. Watched a few tutorials online and basically messed it up trying to convert it to a Pandora Box. Returned all the Pandora rubbish and decided to build a Pi build instead. Amazon was selling the same kits at around 200.00. The prices are well over the odds. Pi Hut had everything I needed to build the unit. Everything arrived the next day. All 100% in working order, well packaged etc. After 5 mins to build the unit I plugged in an Arcade chip and low and behold my custom Arcade1Up works. It now has over 14,000 retro games on it. Perfect piece of kit. Very happy with the service, very happy with the product.

I am very much a novice at computing and manipulating packages+hardware. However, the Pi platform in tandem with the online resources makes entry-level projects very accessible to those wanting a first try at building platforms without buying rafts of hardware. The Pi platform is very versatile and, specifically, the Pi 4 is very powerful. If I had a gripe it would be the absence of a second ether port. All USB3-eth dongles I have tried are proving problematic/unusable. But router-on-a-stick using OpenWRT has been a doddle to create.

The RPi4 will automatically boot from a bootable USB memory stick if there is no sdcard connected.
