Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB Raspberry Pi 4 Model B is the latest product in the popular Raspberry Pi range of computers. It offers ground-breaking increases in processor speed, multimedia performance, memory, and connectivity compared to the prior-generation Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, while retaining backwards compatibility and similar power consumption. For the end user, Raspberry Pi 4 Model B provides desktop performance comparable to entry-level x86 PC systems. This product's key features include a high-performance 64-bit quad-core processor, dual-display support at resolutions up to 4K via a pair of micro-HDMI ports, hardware video decode at up to 4Kp60, 4GB of RAM, dual-band 2.4/5.0GHz wireless LAN, Bluetooth 5.0, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, and PoE capability (via a separate PoE HAT add-on). The dual-band wireless LAN and Bluetooth have modular compliance certification, allowing the board to be designed into end products with significantly reduced compliance testing, improving both cost and time to market.

And buy an alternative case with some better cooling...

Excellent set. Very quick and easy to set up. All the cables are thick and sturdy. The included guide is really useful if you've never used Linux before. The keyboard and mouse are of very high quality, feeling tactile and responsive. They're large enough to be comfortable to small enough to stash away when not in use if desk space is limited. The new Pi 4 is super snappy to use, making the set a fantastic affordable computer for browsing and office work. Chromium, Google Drive, etc. all work wonderfully, and the system can easily handle reading the very large PDF files I'm often reading for work (that often crash on much more expensive mobile devices!).Highly recommended.Highly recommended.

The ribbon cable connectors ,I found eventually ,use the cam-lock principle for securing the cable rather than the wedge-lock I’ve come across before. When I finally got it together I could access the Waveshare website, and found that there is a video describing the process! though in typically atrocious ā€˜Chinglish’. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? I find it strange since the connections must be part of the printed circuit board.

Made my own modifications to correct that (invalidating the warranty I'm sure but is a mouse so not too bothered)To be clear this is a great starter kit and worth the money, just some quality issue that i feel could be improved on.

It was a present from Santa for my 10 year old as she will be need PC for first year of secondary school and had been coding as part of curriculum 4 years in primary school. My husband was initially reluctant as we thought it needed coding knowledge to be used but it comes with a desktop package and even for us dinosour adults is ready to use.my daughter did change keyboard settings easily as initially some symbols weren't the ones in the buttons.Still working on claws email as not much info in beginner's guide and does not support pop mail such as apple. She is coding at home on her own ;-),my husband has been browsing, etc in only few weeks.it is amazing how small the computer is,very sleek.great quick delivery.we borrowed a pc screen from a relative and voila!

Raspberry Pi 4 Desktop Kit Australian / 8GB

This is a lovely little kit with everything needed to get you up and running out of the box. Just hook this up to your monitor (or monitors) and your away, the pre-loaded memory card ensures your only a few clicks from basic functionality. The Pi itself is very impressive and my opinion is that the investment for the 8gb is well worth the money. Whether using for retro gaming, as a server project, a desktop environment or for interfacing with other microcontrollers in electronic projects , the pi4 is a real Swiss-army knife and can have its function changed with a switch over to another memory card. A great online community ensures there is always something fun to do.

I was very excited to receive my first Raspberry Pi 8GB, amazing. Pretty nice kit I think, well packaged, looks good, and everything in its place. I would have like to see either a Fan Shim or Heatsinks included in the kit, the Pi4 runs pretty hot without cooling. Once I got all the cables together and put my new system together I popped in the MicroSD card, connected the power and the Pi4 booted up immediately.I am very pleased with my experience ordering from Primoroni, it is a great source for Pi components and they provide excellent service. I recommend the Pi 4 for anyone requiring an inexpensive home computer, and Primoroni for anyone purchasing computer products online.

This is a great kit and the third one I get, the first two were for my nephew in London and my niece in Mexico City, and now I got this one for myself, because I had a Raspberry 3 and the larger memory and the two screens were very attractive! This is so much better! Also, Python two is unsupported now and I’m migrating to Python 3. The Raspberry works very nicely. I added a fan shim from pimoroni to keep things cooler and run it open. The keyboard with a USB hub is very useful and pretty, and the official mouse is very nice too. I hope I can start using Python to stack astrophotography images soon. It’s been horribly cloudy, but we’ll catch Mars one of these days, I’m trusting. I’m very, very happy with my purchase. All my raspberries in this continent have been purchased from Vilros and I’ve developed a liking and loyalty for Vilros. This last one was shipped via USPS and it beat another shipment that went with FedEx, in case anybody cares about delivery My wife, a molecular biologist, and I want to make a thermocycler to run PCR reactions too. It’s taking a bit longer, but we’re getting the parts and preparing things. If we can pull off a reaction, we will celebrate HEAVILY!!!!! Really, great product. Get one for your sons, niece, nephew, and get them into coding and making their own toys and games! Guidance is required, but you’ll have great fun too!

Once reinstalled on the SD card it wouldn't reboot, and when i put the SD card into my laptop it tells me to format the SD before use, which i cant do as it is now a raw file. For my level of knowledge the SD card is now dead. I understand that the memory card issue is probably my own fault. But surely an official pi keyboard should work properly, or at least have an option to use it in the settings?
